The Fulton County Medical Examiner has released documents confirming that AJ Jewell‘s death has officially been ruled a homicide. AJ was a regular on the hit BRAVO reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. He was engaged to one of the Housewives (Kandi Burruss) throughout the taping of the show. The two broke up over the summer shortly before AJ died following a fight at a club in Atlanta in October.
TMZ reports: The cause of death is listed as, “Physical altercation resulting in sickle cell trait related exertional collapse.” Contributing factors are listed as, “intestinal myocardial fidrosis,” as well as an enlarged heart.
Translation — the fight triggered a flare up with Jewell’s sickle cell disease.
Frederick Richardson, the other guy involved in the fight has been arrested, charged with voluntary manslaughter and is currently behind bars.
Anderson’s attorney told TMZ: “It’s an unfortunate situation, Frederick is sorry this situation happened and that A.J. died.”
Such a sad story…
