During a roundtable discussion on Fox News’s “The Five” about a proposed Colorado legislation that would allow women to carry concealed weapons to defend themselves against sexual assault at colleges, host Bob Beckel expressed his confusion about the whole idea, and basically suggested that rape doesn’t happen on college campuses.
“When’s the last time you heard about rape on a college campus?” Bob asked. And he was dead azz serious too.
“What?!” the entire table could be heard saying. “What are you talking about?” co-host Eric Bolling inquired. “It’s rampant.”
“Oh, it’s rampant?” Beckel asked. “Rapes on campus?!” Bolling responded. “Where?” Beckel wanted to know.
“In particular, date rape on campus,” someone else said. “Yea, date rape, that’s one thing,” Beckel conceded, “but you gonna take a gun out and shoot your date?”
Just Bob Beckel being Bob Beckel. Someone should pass along this story to him.
