In the USA, Canada and Europe the Tibetan Mastiff is raised and bred as a home guardian dog we can live with. The four adult females and one male TM we live with bark to warn us of noises and animals and people approaching. Then they calm down at our signal and would not act at all aggressively unless any of their people were threatened. They are particularly protective of children. See http://www.tibetanmastiffinfo.com/ for more information about this amazing breed in the west.
