Sara Gilbert Comes Out of the Closet at a Press Conference for Her New Talk Show

Actress Sara Gilbert quietly came out of the closet this week during a press conference introducing her new show “The Talk.”

Gilbert is the executive producer of the new talk-show and when asked how comfortable she is being “out,” the former TV star, most famous for her role as Darlene Conner on the hit 90′s sitcom “Roseanne”, she said:

“This is a whole new world for me… I’m not an expert on this, or I don’t analyze these things. I’m just sort of living my life. I don’t think [being out] will be a problem…I don’t ever really think of things as being out or in…I just think I am who I am, and when topics come up that are appropriate, I’ll talk about them and share when it seems right. I’ve been acting my whole life, and I’ve never really discussed my personal life. This is a talk show…So obviously I’m going to be discussing my life more.”

Sara, 35, has two children with her TV producer girlfriend Allison Adler and the two have been together since 2002. Adler gave birth to their 5-year-old son Levi while Gilbert gave birth to their daughter Sawyer, who turns 3 in August.

    Secondly, yeah…. I thought she was out alread too. But regardless, great on her part to just announce it but its really no one’s business. Although, I do think it would be hilarious if every one just started coming out, straight or gay. “Mom, I have something I need to tell you, I’m…….straight”;-)

    I wasn’t shocked at all.I think I heard this years ago.Actually I think I read it much more than once.I don’t know why people have to make a big deal as to whether they’re gay or straight.You are what you are.People have to accept this as a fact of life.Different isn’t a bad thing…just different!

    Sad that life does not provid perfect parents, role models or biological health.
    So people manage the best they can with their “lot” in life. Nice to find caring
    loving people even if they are gay. A heavy cross to bear in many communities.

    I simply give thanks for having a father I could love and respect even though he was
    far from perfect and I also having a loving relationship with my husband .
    Happiness is a decision we make and is not dependant on circumstances

    Im sure the television viewing public knew the she was lesbian, when she played the role or darlene on the roseann show. She only came out to bring in viewer to her new talk show, she has been low key for years .

    for those of you saying, who cares or we already knew that….she has made a formal statement that affirms that she is gay. instead of people saying, maybe she is maybe she isn’t, it is her right to put the correct “label” on her life, noone else has that right.

    What about the porn she did after Roseanne. I have a DVD with her and a blonde going at it hardcore I remember watching it and I had to pause it on her face to make sure it really was her lol! So I knew from that cause she was loving it lol!! Then right after I saw that xxx DVD with her and that woman the whole cast from Roseanne was on Larry King Live and that’s all Larry talked about with her was her new found porn career and her lesbian scenes. That was like 3 or 4 yrs ago so eveyone knew way back then. And to the dumb comments made by Mickey people are people! We are all human and to treat another human being with such utter disrespect because of race, religion, or their sexual preference just proves a lack of respect and intelligence on your part my friend. Everyone needs to just stop and think about others and that by showing kindness and understanding can go along way to finding a deeper meaning and existence to

Remember when you are being a bigot and showing hatred towards another human being for whatever reason, just remember that person is someones son, daughter, brother, sister, father or mother or something and they deserve the love and respect that Jesus gave the men that accused and hung him for no other reason than hatred and predjudice because they did not understand everything as well as they thought they did.
