Bow Wow’s Walk Across America Hits New York

NEW YORK // FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH 2008 » Rapper Bow Wow is trying to get as many people as possible to register to vote (if they’re still able to) and once registered and able, to actually go out and vote at the polls this November. He and singer Michelle Williams participated in a walk on New York City yesterday afternoon.
“I used to think going to the mall and hollering at girls (was) more important,” Bow Wow told reporters. “But in reality, we are in a different time now. My focus now is to take it a step further to make a change and vote.”
Bow Wow, who recently appeared on HBO’s Entourage, launched this “Walk Across America” campaign last Wednesday, and the goal of the movement was to hit as many major cities as possible within 15 days: Philadelphia; New York; Washington; Baltimore; Boston; Nashville, TN; Hartford, CT; Mobile, AL; Richmond, VA; and Columbia, SC.

Where the hell was everybody? They couldn’t even get the has-beens to show up? Good idea in theory, Mariah, just make sure you follow through with it next time! I mean, Birdman gave the love of his life $1,00,000 and you couldn’t get not one A-list celebrity (or any, for that matter) to show up to your man’s party? You oughta be ashamed of yourself!

I’m not gonna make any jokes about Lil’ Wayne & Baby and their highly disturbing “relationship” as father and son. But I am gonna remind you that they kiss each other in the mouth. No seriously … they do. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Dwayne celebrated his 26th g’day in Miami Tuesday night, and guess what his “daddy” gave him as a gift? $1,000,000. Rick Ross Admits he was a Corrections Officer!
It took him long enough, but Rick Ross has finally admitted to his past! After TheSmokingGun.com dug up some old documents containing the Miami rapper’s full government name and social security number, which happened to detail of him being a correctional officer for the state of Florida back in the day, people began to question the rapper’s credibility. And up until recently, the “Boss” (as he calls himself) had neither confirmed nor denounced the allegations:
“Yes, it’s me. I never tried to hide my past. I put my name inside my CDs,” Ross says in the latest issue of Don Diva Magazine. “I never ratted on a nigga. I never prosecuted a nigga. I never locked up a n*gga, that’s first and foremost.”
“I always felt that me being the nigga that I am, I never owed a ni*gga an explanation. When I’m making my music and I’m talking about blow, it’s because I did it. When I say that I’m rich off cocaine, it’s because I did it. Those are the street principals that apply.”

We here at Gossip On This already know who’s not on former “American Idol” hopeful Jennifer Hudson’s and former “I Love New York” contestant David “Punk” Otunga’s invite list for their wedding. New York herself has taken it upon herself to publicly downplay Jennifer & Punk’s engagement and overall relationship, making references to Al & Star and Steadman & Oprah:
“He’s really loving being Mr. Jennifer Hudson. I think he’s loving the lavish things she brings to his life, he’s seeing the world due to Jennifer’s success,” Tiffany retorted earlier this week. “[But] can you love this person if they lose all of this tomorrow? She needs to find out. I just hope people are marrying each other for the right reasons.”
“It’s a mixed match, it won’t work,” she says. “He’ll be in her shadow like Al Reynolds was to Star Jones, like Stedman Graham is to Oprah.”
I’m not sure but I sense a little bitterness in there. Not a lot, but just a pinch though lol. What about you?
