Zsa Zsa Gabor is scheduled to leave the hospital sometime this morning, which also just happens to be the actress’ 94th birthday. And her husband Prince Von Anhalt tells TMZ that his wife is very fortunate to have made it to her birthday today due to her condition being a lot worse than anyone had previously known.
Von Anhalt revealed that Gabor had “full blown pneumonia” and her chances of making it were very slim. Doctors gave him the option of giving her a lot of antibiotics or putting her on a respirator.
They chose the former, which did the trick, and as of yesterday, the infection was completely gone, her temperature had returned back to normal and her blood pressure returned to normal as well. Zsa Zsa can also breathe on her own again, and she’s said to be “back to her normal self.”
Zsa Zsa, who had part of her right leg amputated last month when gangrene set in, has been in and out of the hospital since last summer, and even had her last rites read to her by a priest back in November.
In celebration of Zsa Zsa’s 94th birthday today, The Prince says he’s buying her a cake and the nursing staff is planning to sing her “Happy Birthday” before she’s discharged from the hospital.
Happy Birthday Zsa Zsa Gabor!
