Geri Jewell, best known for playing Geri Tyler, in the hit 1980’s sitcom “Facts of Life” has revealed that she is a lesbian! Recovering details about her sexuality, the actress officially kicked her closet door wide open in her candid autobiography “I’m Walking as Straight as I Can.”

In the book, Jewell (who has battled cerebral palsy her whole life) talks about how much of a struggle it was to grow up with a disability, and how she handled her sexuality as a child.

According to a press release from the book’s publisher, the book will also detail Jewell’s tax problems, drug addiction and marriage troubles, along with the difficult obstacles she had to overcome to make television history as the first person with a disability to appear in a recurring role on prime-time TV.

Most recently, Geri Jewell starred in the hit HBO series “Deadwood” as a woman named Jewell.
