Zsa Zsa Gabor is back at home following an emergency surgery to partially amputate right leg. Her husband Prince Frederic Von Anhalt says the actress, who was released from a California hospital Saturday, will require around-the-clock care at home. She will also be on bed rest for the next 2 months while she recovers.
Gabor’s spokesman John Blanchette tells People that doctors are pleased with her progress, adding that she will celebrate her 94th birthday next month. Over the weekend, Blanchette also said that Gabor’s husband described her condition as “feisty” claiming she was “yelling at nurses and at him. Everything is back to normal.”
The ailing star was treated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles for a very deep, 12-inch long lesion on her lower leg. Doctors tried to treat the infection with antibiotics, but were unsuccessful and were forced to perform an above-the-knee amputation earlier this month (Fri. Jan 14).
The 93-year-old actress has been in and out of the hospital since July when she had to have hip replacement surgery after she fell out of her bed in her Bel Air mansion.
Get well soon Zsa Zsa Gabor!!!
