Singer Kelis may be on to a comeback!
In a recent interview, Kelis revealed that her break from the music industry allowed her to fall back in love with making music all over again. Check out what she said, along with a recent televised performance of her new single when you continue reading below!
“It was great. As artists and musicians I think we forget that there’s a whole world of people out there who don’t know or really care about what it is we do, and their lives continue on. It was nice just to step away and do something else. It was important – it brought me back to be able to do this for love again.”
“Honestly it’s been great. It’s funny – it takes a minute to get back into the swing of things with performing, and as you perform the music takes on its own life. There’s a moment in the studio when you’re working and… it’s like a eureka moment when you’re working. Then it lays dormant for a while, and then you get out on the road and you see what works and what doesn’t. Something that might feel good in the studio might be a complete bore on stage. You hear notes you never heard before and wish you said this instead of that.”
