Just about anybody can be on TV these days….

Controversial evangelical preacher Ted Haggard will be coming out with his own show on TLC.

According to our buddies over at Pop Eater, the one-hour reality special titled “Ted Haggard: Scandalous” will show how the pastor and his family have rebuilt their lives ever since his epic fall.

In 2006, Ted was caught having an affair with a male prostitute and admitted to being hooked on crystal-meth. At the time he was the head of the National Association of Evangelicals…..and was leading 30 million followers across 45,000 churches. Now, he hopes to show everyone a new chapter in his life and prove that anyone can overcome their struggles.

“My family and I endured the darkest hours imaginable in the public spotlight, and have spent the last four years fighting and struggling to rebuild our lives, our faith and our family. Showing the world the new chapter of our lives will hopefully inspire others to find their own path to overcome their struggles and embrace the power of acceptance. The church is open to all, even those who have committed the darkest sins,”  Haggard released in a statement.

The special airs January 16th. It’s possible that the show will be turned into a series if the special gets good ratings.

Hopefully this won’t turn out to be weird… But then again, that’s what reality TV is all about right?
