The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency chronicles the adventures of Precious Ramotswe, a heroine who proves that with the right dose of confidence and determination, anything is possible. Precious truly embodies the characteristics that a No. 1 Lady possesses – she is a leader who is confident, independent, compassionate, optimistic, empowered, determined, and inspirational.

To celebrate the premiere of The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency on March 29th, HBO is partnering with the Botswana Tourism Board and the YWCA to recognize and celebrate inspiring women across the US through the No. 1 Ladies’ Contest.

To enter, simply submit a nomination that tells us how you or your No. 1 Lady inspires, educates or empowers women at home, work, or within your community. You will be asked to identify your nominee’s “No. 1 Quality,” and share a story (of no more than 300 words) that illustrates how your nominee embodies that quality.

Entrants will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Relevance to contest theme
2. Originality
3. Creativity
4. Votes

Five winners will be chosen to receive a safari trip for two to the lush country of Botswana and their nominees will receive a cash prize of $1,000.* Don’t forget to tune in to the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency premiere on Sunday, March 29th at 8PM, only on HBO
*Trip is awarded to the nominator, cash prize is awarded to the nominee. In the event of self-nomination or nomination of a deceased party, both prizes will be awarded to the nominator. Please review the Official Contest Rules for more information.
