Saffie Rose Roussos: 8-Year-Old Girl Identified As Manchester Arena Bomb Victim

Another victim of the suspected suicide attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester has been identified.

8-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos, described to the media as a “beautiful little girl,” was reportedly at the concert with her mother Lisa and sister Ashlee Bromwich at the time of the terrorist attack, which has left at least 22 dead and 59 injured.

According to The Guardian, Roussos’ mother and sister were among the injured and were being treated at separate hospitals. It is believed that Saffie Rose was the youngest of the victims.

Chris Upton, the headteacher at Tarleton Community primary school, where the eight-year-old was a pupil, said in a statement: “Saffie was simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word. She was loved by everyone and her warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly. Saffie was quiet and unassuming with a creative flair.”

Upton added that the news of Saffie’s death came as a tremendous shock. “The thought that anyone could go out to a concert and not come home is heartbreaking,” he said, adding that the tight-knit school would be helping staff and pupils cope with the shocking news.

The first victim to be named in the aftermath of the attack was 18-year-old Georgina Callander, who was said to be one of Ariana Grande’s biggest fans.

According to David Ratcliffe, the medical director of North West ambulance service, twelve children under the age of 16 were among the 59 casualties taken to the hospital after the attack.

More from The Guardian:

Parents of other missing concertgoers continued to search for their children the day after the Manchester Arena attack, visiting hospitals and posting photos of their loved ones on social media.

About 21,000 people, many of them children and teenagers, were in the arena when a bomb exploded in the foyer at about 10.30pm.

Greater Manchester police have told people who need help or assistance togo to gate 11 at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City football club’s ground. An emergency phone number set up to help people is 0800 096 0095.

Deborah Hutchinson, from Gateshead, went to Manchester on Tuesday morning in the hope of finding her teenage daughter Courtney, who has been missing since the attack. In an appeal on Facebook, she wrote that Courtney was with her partner, Philip Tron, and by 8am on Tuesday neither had been located.

She wrote: “My daughter Courtney Boyle and partner Philip Tron have gone missing tonight in a attack at Manchester tonight please share and help find them I need them home safe xX.”

Charlotte Campbell told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that her 15-year-old daughter, Olivia, was still missing. She said she had spoken to her at the concert. “She’d just seen the support act and said she was having an amazing time, and thanking me for letting her go,” she said. Olivia was with her friend Adam, who was found in hospital, but Olivia had not been seen.

Campbell said: “I’m at home phoning everybody: hospitals, police, the centres that the children have been put in. Her dad’s in Manchester looking for her. I’ve got friends looking for her. I’ve got people I don’t even know looking for her, people messaging me, saying: ‘We’ve got her photo, looking for her, we’ll get in contact if we see her’. And I’m just hearing nothing. Her phone’s dead.”

She said social media had been wonderful for spreading the news about Olivia being missing. She added: “They’ve basically told me to stay put and wait for a phone call. I daren’t leave the house just in case she somehow gets home.”

The band Little Mix tweeted an appeal for information on Chloe Rutherford, 17, and her friend Liam Curry, 19, who have been missing since the blast. The pair are from South Shields, South Tyneside, the hometown of two members of the band.

In the early hours of the morning, a family from the Philippines told the Guardian they were searching for a missing loved one at Manchester Royal infirmary.

A 17-year-old girl, who asked not to be named, said she was looking for her mother, last seen in the post-explosion chaos. Her mum’s injured boyfriend had been located, but her mother remained missing.

Manchester Royal infirmary’s accident and emergency department was in “complete lockdown”, according to staff. “It’s a crime scene,” said one, pointing to police forensics officers going in and out of the hospital with plastic evidence bags.

Police officers guarded the doors, behind two red signs saying “major incident – no entry”. As ambulances began to arrive at about midnight, staff cleared A&E of all patients unconnected to the blast.

At about 2.30am two more ambulances pulled into the children’s A&E, followed by a van carrying blood supplies. Throughout the night relatives arrived to see if their loved ones were at the hospital. Some found them, but others left again to check other hospitals.

Steve Rotheram, the Liverpool city region metro mayor, said his daughters had been at the venue and thanked the taxi driver who “eventually got through the traffic to pick up my two girls”.

Stuart Aspinall, 25, said he was trying to find his friend Martyn Hett after they were separated towards the end of the gig. Aspinall shared photos of the 29-year-old, from Stockport, on Facebook.

He wrote: “The more news that is coming out, the scarier this is getting. There was an explosion at the Ariana Grande concert tonight in Manchester and I haven’t seen my friend Martyn since.”

Greg Southern told the Guardian he was sitting in the same row as Hett. “I don’t know him but he was on the row I was on. He was stood on the exit steps on the end of our row,” Southern said. He recognised him from photos shared on Twitter. “We were at the other side of the arena from where the explosion took place. The concert had just finished and the lights had just come on. There was this absolutely tremendous bang and everybody panicked at that point.”

The audience included many young teenagers, he said. “I was there with my boyfriend, but next to us there were maybe three groups who must have been young teens, 15 or 16. In the row behind was a mother with children. The majority of people were quite young.”

The parents and friends of Laura MacIntyre and Eilidh MacLeod, both 15, from the Hebridean island of Barra, issued urgent appeals after they went missing. One of the girls’ aunts confirmed the pair had not contacted relatives since the blast.

On Facebook, Margaret MacNeil said: “Please please please share! My niece and her friend were at the Ariana Grande concert tonight and there has been no contact since the explosion. Please let us find the girls safe and well. They are Eilidh MacLeod and Laura MacIntyre.”

Laura’s father, Micheal, also issued an urgent request on Twitter for help in tracing his daughter.

Angus MacNeil, the Scottish National party MP for the Western Isles, said he knew the MacIntyres, and had spoken to both girls’ fathers on Tuesday morning. “I just can’t begin to get to the depths of their worries,” he said. “They are without doubt missing.”

He said Eilidh MacLeod’s father and members of the MacIntyre family were travelling to Manchester.

Jordan Howe was searching hospitals in Manchester to try to find his missing stepmother, Alison Howe. “We haven’t heard anything yet. I am just about to go into another hospital, we have been looking in the hospitals for her,” he told the Guardian.

Sasha Howe, from Oldham, said her mother and family friend Lisa Lees had gone to the arena to pick up their daughters from the concert. The two girls had been found, but Lees and Howe were both still missing. “[We’ve] heard nothing,” Sasha told the Guardian.

She posted a picture of her mother and Lisa Lees on Facebook, writing: “Please get in contact if anything is heard and share this.”

Another of the missing was Kaia Kopusar, 17, according to her friend.

Ecrin Javakovic told the Guardian Kaia was from France and had travelled to Manchester for the gig. “There is still no news of her,” she said. Kaia’s parents, who are in France, had been phoning hospitals in Manchester for news of her but had heard nothing, Javakovic said.

Georgina Callander: First Manchester Terrorist Attack Victim Identified Was Ariana Grande “Super Fan”

The first victim of the Manchester, England terrorist attack has been identified as 18-year-old Georgina Callander.

Callander, who is being described as a “super fan” of Ariana Grande, was killed along with 21 others in a bomb attack Monday night (May 22) after Grande’s sold out concert for her “Dangerous Woman Tour” at the Manchester Arena.

On the eve of the show, the teen tweeted at the pop star, “So excited to see u tomorrow.”

According to the BBC, Georgina was a student at Runshaw College in Leyland, where she was in her second year studying Health and Social Care.

“It is with enormous sadness that it appears that one of the people who lost their lives in Monday’s Manchester attack was one of our students here at Runshaw College,” Runshaw College said in a statement on Facebook. “Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to all of Georgina’s friends, family, and all of those affected by this loss.”

More via CNN:

Callander had posted a number of tweets in the lead up to the concert on Monday, expressing her excitement about the event. The teen had previously seen the pop star in a 2015 concert and had shared photos on her Instagram account, posing with Grande.

“SHE WAS SO CUTE ANS LOVLEY I HUGGED HER SO TIGHT AND SHE SAID SHE LOVED MY BOW I CANT GET OVER THIS I NEVER WILL,” Callander said in the post.

As news of Callander’s death began to spread on Tuesday morning, friends shared their condolences on social media.

“Rest in peace Gina. I love you so incredibly much, you deserved the world & more I’m so lucky to have met you and known you,” Liana Sarfati said in a tweet, sharing photos from events they had attended together.

“To my beautiful best friend I hope you rest in peace my darling. I love you so much and will always miss you,” Sophie Marsh, who was Callander’s classmate, said in a post on Twitter.

Marsh shared a photo of Callander smiling with friends.

By Tuesday afternoon, Callander’s Facebook profile had been changed to a remembrance page. Photos showed a fun-loving teenager who liked pop groups like One Direction and Fifth Harmony.

Lukas Cutforth and Dodie Clark, two British YouTube stars created a memorial fund for Callander’s family on GoFundMe “to help towards the funeral and memorial costs.” Neither Cutforth nor Clark knew Callander. The page had raised more than £3,000 (nearly $4,000 USD) at the time of writing.

Roger Moore Cause of Death: How Did the James Bond Actor Die?

Sir Roger Moore, best known for his portrayal of the iconic James Bond character in the 007 movies in the 1970s and 1980s has died, his family confirmed on Twitter. He was 89 years old.

How did Roger Moore die? What was his cause of death?

According to Moore’s family, he died Tuesday (May 23) in Switzerland after a “short but brave battle with cancer.”

“With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today,” the actor’s family wrote on Twitter. “We are all devastated.”

TMZ reported that Moore’s children and family were all “by his side in his final days.”

The family’s full official statement reads as follows:

“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer. The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.

“We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world, by people who knew him for his films, his television shows, and his passionate work for UNICEF which he considered to be his greatest achievement.

“The affection our father felt whenever he walked on to a stage or in front of a camera buoyed him hugely and kept him busy working into his 90th year, through to his last appearance in November 2016 on stage at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The capacity crowd cheered him on and off stage, shaking the very foundations of the building just a short distance from where he was born.

“Thank you Pops for being you, and for being so special to so many people.”

Before his illustrious movie career, which saw him star in seven Bond movies between 1973 and 1985 after taking over the role from Sean Connery, Sir Roger served in the Royal Army Service Corps as a second lieutenant after being enlisted for national service shortly after the end of World War II.

Moore was also appointed UNICEF Ambassador in 1991 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for “services to charity.” Additionally, Moore was appointed a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2008, which was also the same year he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Per Sir Roger Moore’s own wishes, his family said that there will be a private funeral in Monaco.

Ariana Grande Manchester Concert Explosion: Things You Need to Know

At least 22 people are dead and dozens more were injured Monday night (May 22) after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive in the moments following an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena in England.

The Greater Manchester Police said the attacker’s remains were recovered at the scene and he is believed to have used an improved explosive device (also known as IED). Manchester police also confirmed that a 23-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the attack.

“It is now beyond doubt that the people of Manchester and of this country have fallen victim to a callous terrorist attack. An attack that targeted some of the youngest people in our society with cold calculation,” British Prime Minister Theresa May said after in an emergency Cabinet meeting Tuesday morning.

Witnesses said a “loud explosion” was heard, followed by screams and a stampede of thousands of people trying to leave the crowded building, which is one of the largest indoor arenas in the world.

Reps for Ariana Grande have confirmed that the singer was not among the injured, as the incident happened in the foyer outside the arena about 10:30 p.m. local time after Grande had already left the stage.

Around 21,000 fans were in attendance at the sold-out concert, including many teenagers, young people and their parents. Though details about the victims haven’t been released yet, reports have indicated that a number of children, including young girls, were among the victims.

The story is still developing, but here’s everything we know so far:

The blast, a suspected suicide bombing, reportedly happened outside the arena in the public foyer area.

British Transport Police confirmed with UK newspaper The Sun that the blast went off in the foyer area of the arena. Authorities believe the explosion, a suspected suicide bombing, may have been caused by a nail bomb in a backpack, though those details have yet to be confirmed.

Two U.S. law enforcement officials confirmed with CBS News that the attack was conducted by a suicide bomber, who took the Tube (i.e. subway) to Victoria Station, went to the ticket area of the arena and detonated the explosive device as people were leaving the concert. Investigators reportedly recovered ball bearings and are tracing the bomber’s movements through CCTV.

CBS News also reported that parts of the suicide bomber’s body had been recovered.

According to the Washington Post, Grande’s last song incorporated falling balloons, leading some to believe that some of them had popped, inciting needless panic. However, as fans were frantically leaving the arena, they noticed still bodies of those killed or injured as well as others with blood all over them struggling to reach safety.

“There were just a loud bang and a flash and everyone tried to scramble out,” 18-year-old Jade Baynes told The Guardian. “An alarm came on telling everyone to stay calm but leave as quickly as possible.”

Another witness, 17-year-old Oliver Jones, described the chaotic scene he witnessed:

“I was in the toilet and heard a loud bang just after the concert had finished and people had started to leave. The bang echoed around the foyer of the arena and people started to run. I seen people running and screaming towards one direction and then many were turning around to run back the other way.

“Security was running out as well as the fans and concert goers. Reports of blood and people injured. In so much shock and panic. You see this on the news all the time and never expect it to happen to you. I just had to run and make sure me and my sister were safe.”

Video footage shows the moment the explosion happened as well as the chaotic scene surrounding the area moments after the incident.

One video posted to Twitter (above) purports to show the exact moment the explosion happened. The footage, apparently recorded by a dashboard camera, shows a few seconds of a bright light near the building and you can hear a loud blast just moments later (because light travels faster than sound).

Another video shared on Twitter (below) shows the chaotic scene inside the seating area of the stadium:

And here’s another video showing the chaos outside the arena:

Another video shows a scene of panicked concertgoers fleeing from the venue, which is directly connected to London Victoria station railway.

At least 22 people have been confirmed dead and at least 59 more were reported injured.

The identities of those killed or injured have yet to be confirmed, however, police have confirmed that at least 22 people died and at least 59 more were hurt in the suspected terrorist attack.

The local medical service, North West Ambulance, said it had taken 59 casualties from the Manchester Arena to various local hospitals, and they also treated a number of “walking wounded” at the scene of the bombing.

The Greater Manchester chief constable Ian Hopkins has released a statement regarding the tragic the incident:

I can confirm the details of events tonight that we currently know. At around 10.33pm last night we received reports of an explosion at the Manchester Arena in the city centre. It was at the conclusion of an Ariana Grande concert.

Currently we have 19 22 people confirmed to have died and around 50 59 people injured.

The injured are being treated at six hospitals across Greater Manchester. My thoughts are with all those who have been affected and we are doing all we can to support them.

Officers from GMP and emergency services are working at the scene and are supporting those affected. We are coordinating the response from GMP headquarters.

An emergency number is available for those who are concerned about loved ones or anyone who may have been in the area. It is 0161 856 9400.

We are currently treating this as a terrorist incident until we know otherwise. We are working closely with the national counter-terrorism policing network and UK intelligence partners.

This is clearly a concerning time for people but we are doing all we can, working with local and national agencies to support those affected and gather information about what has happened tonight. As you will understand, we are still receiving information and updates, so will provide more details when we have a clearer picture.

I want to thank people for their support and would ask them to remain vigilant and if they have any concerns report them in confidence to us on the anti-terrorist hotline: 0800 789321.

It is important people avoid the area so that we can effectively deal with the incident.

Initial reports stated that at least 19-20 people had perished and 50 were injured in the attack, however, updated reports have confirmed that the death toll had risen to 22 and there were at least 59 people who were injured.

Due to the severity of those injured, the death toll could unfortunately continue to rise, as well as the number of those injured, as more people are admitted to hospitals for treatment.

People have been asked to avoid the area while the situation and the circumstances of the explosion are under investigation.

Immediately after the alleged terrorist attack, a large police presence could be seen outside the arena, and people were advised by police to avoid the area around the Manchester arena. Additionally, the train station near the arena, Victoria Station, was evacuated and all trains for the night have been canceled.

“Due to an incident involving the emergency services [Manchester Victoria] has been evacuated,” Northern train service officials said. “We will provide further updates when possible.”

Parents separated from their children during the mayhem were told to go to a Holiday Inn, where many children had taken refuge. Local residents offered stranded concertgoers places to stay in their homes.

Parents who were separated from their children during the mayhem were advised to go to a nearby Holiday Inn, where many children were being held as precaution.

A spokesman has confirmed that Ariana Grande, her band/crew and other performers were not injured in the incident.

TMZ reported that Ariana Grande was “inconsolable” and “in hysterics” after finding out that at least 19 people were killed after her concert:

Sources in contact with the singer tell TMZ, Ariana is devastated that young people who came for a good time are now lying dead and injured.

Ariana had just left the stage when the explosion happened in the rotunda area near the front door, where tour merchandise and concessions were being sold, as people were leaving the concert.

According to a statement from her reps (via Billboard), neither Ariana Grande nor members of her band and stage crew were injured in the incident:

Billboard has confirmed Grande is “okay” with the singer’s rep and that her team is further investigating what happened.

Though Ariana was not physically hurt, as confirmed by her publicist, she has obviously been emotionally scarred by the tragedy.

She tweeted:

Grande’s supporting act, Boston rapper BIA, tweeted that she and her team were also “okay,” though that tweet has since been deleted. She updated with the following posts on the popular social media site:

Meme-Inspired Rihanna & Lupita Nyong’o Scammer Film Actually Happening Thanks to Netflix

This is really happening! Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o have officially signed on to star in the first meme-inspired movie. And, just like Black Twitter suggested, Issa Rae will write the screenplay and Ava DuVernay will direct.

Intense negotiations for the untitled project reportedly took place at the current Cannes Film Festival. Netflix won the bidding war, beating out “multiple other suitors,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

The concept of the dynamic quartet joining forces was sparked on Twitter back in April. A user found a 2014 photo of Rihanna and Nyong’o in the front row of a Miu Miu fashion show and suggested it looked like still from a heist or scammer movie.

Others chimed in and added DuVernay and Rae to the then-hypothetical production. Shockingly all four superstars expressed their interest.

It’s also unknown if Rae will stick with the scammer plot, but one of her reps confirmed to Vanity Fair that “the original Twitter users who imagined the concept for this film will be credited and included in some form.”

Netflix is reportedly eyeing a 2018 production start date, after DuVernay finishes her current film.

Katy Perry Commands $25 Million Contract to Judge ABC’s “American Idol”

I’ve been reluctant to report on ABC’s decision to resurrect American Idol from the TV graveyard because who actually cares? But apparently, ABC has a lot of faith in the show’s revival because recently announced judge Katy Perry will reportedly bank $25 million.

According to TMZ, Perry was able to negotiate a sweet $25 million deal to sit at the judge’s table for at least one season. Sources familiar with situation say the pop star “had all the leverage” because ABC was desperate to announce a judge during its upfronts presentation and create some sort of excitement.

“If ABC ended up announcing the show without a judge, they’d be screwed,” a source told TMZ.

Fox reportedly offered Perry $20 million to join the show back in 2012. However, she rejected the offer and Jennifer Lopez eventually rejoined the judge’s table. Lopez and longtime host Ryan Seacrest both received $15 million for the final Fox seasons.

Seacrest is also rumored to be the host of the ABC version. However, now that he’s accepted second billing as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live! with Kelly & Ryan, he’s unlikely to settle for $15 million with Perry’s huge paycheck made public.

I’m never one to complain about someone getting their coins, but $25 million to judge a revamped American Idol — which overstayed its welcome about 5 years the first time — is surprising, to say the least. Maybe Perry also believes the show may have a short lifespan and demanded as much as possible.

As a loyal American Idol viewer since season 2, I have no plans in watching its second stint. Perry and ABC’s American Idol will debut sometime in 2018.

Tyler Perry Called Mo’Nique After Her Onstage Rant Against Him, Lee Daniels & Oprah Went Viral

One of Mo’Nique’s foes may be scratched off her hit list. Tyler Perry called the comedian following her public outburst against him and the two seemed to have begun the process of mending fences.

A bit from Mo’Nique’s comedy routine, in which she accused Perry, Lee Daniels, and Oprah of conspiring to sabotage her career and told them to “suck my d*ck,” went viral last week. She further explained her grievances with the trio in a TMZ interview and hour-long podcast.

Perry got word of the viral rant and watched the podcast and personally called Mo’Nique and her husband, Sidney Hicks. “I wanna give that brother credit where credit is due,” she told her audience during another stand-up routine. “We did get a call from Tyler Perry last night.”

“When he called up, he said, ‘I watched your podcast and I saw your pain.’ I said, ‘N*gga that’s not pain, that’s called honesty, don’t get it confused.’ Then he wanted to start talking to me and my husband like he was a billionaire I said n*gga we don’t give a f*ck about your money, let’s start talking one-to-one and let’s start talking some real sh*t.”

Mo’Nique joked that when she felt the wealthy producer started throwing his money around, she asked to speak to his alter-ego Madea.

“See, when he called us up and tried to be the billionaire I said ‘N***a, put Madea on the phone, let me speak to that real b**ch because you f**king this up right now,’ and to that n***a’s credit he got Madea on the motherf**king phone!”

It’s unclear how the rest of the conversation went. But she told Perry she would address it onstage and was appreciative of him calling. She also noted that Daniels and Oprah have yet to reach out.

Though clearly she is, Mo’Nique shouldn’t be too pressed about waiting on those phone calls. Her relationship with Daniels is too strained and Oprah is too busy and probably unbothered. I doubt either are eager to make a move.

At least Mo and Perry can work out their differences. Maybe’s she’ll appear in the next Madea movie.

Michael B. Jordan & Scott Disick Latest Victims in Long String of Celebrity Home Invasions

Hollywood robbers strike again! Michael B. Jordan and Scott Disick can now be added to the long list of celebrities that have been robbed in recent months.

TMZ is reporting Jordan’s San Fernando Valley house was burglarized a few weeks ago. Police say the intruder(s) broke a window and stole an undisclosed amount of money and jewelry. Fortunately, the Creed star was not at home during the invasion and robbery.

Police don’t believe Jordan nor his home were specifically targeted, but instead a random hit. Jordan has also yet to give police a list detailing everything that was stolen.

Disick’s Hidden Hills home was reportedly broken into Sunday morning (May 22). Burglars entered the home through the back door around 1 a.m., but it has not been reported if anything was swiped.

No one was in the house at the time of the break-in as Disick was celebrating his 34th birthday in Las Vegas.

Several celebrity Southern California homes have been burglarized or broken into since the beginning of the year, including Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, Amber Rose, and Kendall Jenner.

Bruno Mars Sings the Panties Off the Crowd With “Versace on the Floor” Billboard Music Awards Performance

The half-Puerto Rican, half-Filipino, lil’ dude ruling R&B and pop is not a very tall man. In fact, he’s merely 5’5″. There are middle schoolers who tower over him.

But Bruno grows larger than life when he hits the stage and I’ll be damned if the man isn’t Andre the Giant-sized when he gets on that stage and starts belting about getting his dream woman to “dance till we’re naked.”

After conquering the world with “24K Magic” and “That’s What I Like,” Bruno’s throwback to ’80s R&B continues with “Versace on the Floor” which is a New Edition/Bobby Brown-style throwback to ballads that made you want to bump ‘n’ grind. In fact, speaking of “Bump ‘n’ Grind,” this is the R&B that predated R. Kelly and wildly influenced him.

Although Bruno’s performance was technically phoned in and not live (he recorded it while he was on tour), a Bruno Mars performance is always a welcome treat nonetheless.

Watch Bruno Mars razzle and dazzle the crowd with his Billboard Music Awards performance below.

Drake Stomps Around in Tracksuit to the Tune of “Gyalchester” at Billboard Music Awards

Beyoncé may have said that girls run the world, but these days, I’m more convinced that the rapping, singing, mixed-race, Canadian-American otherwise known as Drake might in fact actually run the world.

After eviscerating his enemies (R.I.P. Meek Mill) and crushing it with overachieving album sales, music streams, concert tickets and accolades, Drake is just riding high on life. And the Billboard Music Awards saw fit to honor Drake by giving him the highly sought after Bellagio stage. Britney Spears once performed over the water among the Bellagio fountains in 2001 for the same awards show. It was lit.

Drake took the stage, which sits amidst the Bellagio fountains, and performed “Gyalchester,” which is his version of Toronto-style gangsta rap, I suppose. The white tracksuit was kinda fresh tho.

Watch Drake give Las Vegas his mean mug with his performance at the Billboard Music Awards below.

Nicki Minaj Gives Her Career the Medley Treatment at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards

As the singlemost dominant and visible force in female rap for at least the last five years, Nicki Minaj has earned her place in music history.

And hell, since Beyoncé is knocked up with twins and not doing anybody’s award shows, why not give Nicki Minaj the opening platform at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards?

The only problem, however, is that Nicki is between albums at the moment. And so what that meant is that the career defining medley that Minaj assembled for the Billboard Music Awards consisted of “No Frauds,” “Light My Body Up,” “Swalla” and “Regret In Your Tears.”

I’m fairly confident that only “No Frauds” is a legit hit among that line-up, and even that song had only a brief stint on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at 14 (most likely due to her one-sided “rap beef” with Remy Ma).

From a performance perspective, Nicki gave her credits lots of ammunition as she seemed more focused on surrounding herself with back-up dancers and decorating herself in S&M-inspired high-end fashions.

Thankfully, Nicki did spit her rhymes live, but the most cringeworthy part of the medley was a toss-up between Jason Derulo and his try-too-hard screeching, spasming and hollering and Nicki’s faux-ballet and “look-at-me-this-is-art” performance for “Regret In Your Tears.”

Nicki, baby, “Regret In Your Tears” is a lackluster, autotuned Meek Mill break-up track. Why are you trying to tune that shit into “The Nutcracker?”

Watch Nicki Minaj tribute herself in her Billboard Awards medley below.

Who’s Performing Tonight at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards?

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards air tonight at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on ABC live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and music fans are looking forward to not just the presentation of awards, but also the many performances set to take place.

As suggested by its name, the Billboard Awards are held annually by Billboard, a publication and music popularity chart that covers the music business. Stats regarding album and single sales/streams are released weekly via charts (e.g. Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 Albums Chart), and during the annual awards ceremony, those artists who dominate the charts are honored throughout the evening.

In addition to handing out awards, Billboard also features a number of artists who take the stage and deliver mind-blowing performances. Tonight’s show, hosted by Ludacris and Vanessa Hudgens, will feature performances from several of the music industry’s hottest acts, Celine Dion, Cher, Bruno Mars, Drake and many others.

Check out the full list of 2017 Billboard Music Awards performers below!

Bruno Mars

Currently promoting his third album release, 24K Magic, Bruno Mars has been tearing up the charts with the singles from the project, including the debut single of the same name and That’s What I Like.

According to reports, Mars will be performing his third single, Versace on the Floor, tonight at the Billboard Music Awards, but he won’t be doing it from the BBMAs stage in Vegas. Instead, the performance was reportedly pre-recorded during the Amsterdam stop of his 24K Magic Tour.

Camila Cabello

Camila Cabello, formerly of the girl group Fifth Harmony, is said to be performing her new single “Crying at the Club.”

Celine Dion

Last year at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, Celine Dion received the esteemed Icon Award, and just one year later, the music legend will be taking the stage to perform “My Heart Will Go On” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Titanic.

From Billboard.com:

After catching the rehearsal of her breathtaking performance on Thursday night (May 18), Billboard asked Dion what it means to her to be performing the song on the BBMAs 20 years after the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper was released.

“It’s still number one! [Laughs.] To be honest with you, it’s an honor,” Dion says. “My husband always told me that I wanted to have a career as long as I sing my whole life. Twenty years later, I’m at the Billboard Awards and I was here last year singing ‘The Show Must Go On,’ receiving the Icon award — my son gave it to me, and it was pretty emotional. To be here [in T-Mobile Arena], it’s still emotional, because I can still feel and see what happened last year.”

The Chicago woman who killed her ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend by ramming her into a tree and driving over her body has been charged with first-degree murder.

Chynna Stapleton, 24, was arrested on the night of the incident (May 12). On Monday (May 15), a judge ordered Stapleton be held without bail and charged her with murder.

More details regarding the attack have been revealed. Stapleton and Tatyanna Lewis, 18, had been arguing on social media over Tyshaun Page, Lewis’ boyfriend and the father of one of Stapleton’s children. The social media feud turned physical when Stapleton approached Lewis as she was leaving a friend’s house.

The physical altercation seemed to be over until Stapleton hopped into her Jeep Liberty and allegedly said “I’ve got something for you” after Lewis kicked the passenger door. Stapleton proceeded to chase Lewis, who fell while running, and rammed her into a tree. With Lewis stuck to the car, Stapleton dragged the 18-year-old and ran over her body twice.

Lewis, the daughter of a Chicago police officer, died on the scene.

A 13-year-old was also in the back seat of the Jeep as Stapleton rammed Lewis. It has not been revealed how the child is related to Stapleton. Her son with Page is 1 and she has two other children.

Stapleton argued Lewis provoked her aggressive reaction with harsh language. However, Judge Maria Kuriakos dismissed the claim because the physical altercation was over when Stapleton entered her vehicle.

“Not only did you hit her, you dragged her,” Judge Kuriakos said. “All the while you’ve got a 13-year-old in the back seat. … You are a danger to yourself and society.”

Mourning friends and family have paid tribute to Lewis at the tree she was rammed into. Page says he never thought the women’s feud would come to this and now his “true love” is gone.

Pregnant Serena Williams Intends to Dominate Tennis in 2018, No Plans to Retire Post-Baby

Maria Sharapova, Angelique Kerber, and every other female tennis player have roughly 8 months left to win all the tournaments and Grand Slams they can. A pregnant Serena Williams has no plans of retiring anytime soon.

At 35, Serena is the second oldest player in the top 75, just 15 months behind her sister Venus. Rumblings of a possible retirement naturally began when it was confirmed in April that the tennis legend is pregnant with her first child.

However, TMZ Sports caught up with Serena in New York on Tuesday (May 16) and she gave an emphatic “never!” when asked if she planned to put down the racket after giving birth.

Her rep also previously stated Serena plans to return to the WTA tour in 2018.

Despite not playing a tournament since January, as of this week, Serena is still ranked the No. 2 player in the world. She also broke Steffi Graf’s long-held open era record by winning her 23rd Grand Slam title. It’s also a safe bet that she wants to (at least) tie Margaret Court’s all-time Grand Slam record of 24, if not, surpass it as well.

It’s definitely a tough feat, but if anyone can come back post-baby and defy typical pro athlete ages, it’s the great Serena Williams.

Serena’s due date and the sex of her baby have yet to be revealed. However, she is expected to give birth sometime in the fall. She is engaged to Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian and it’s the first child for both.

Aaron Hernandez’s Fiancée Says She Doesn’t Believe He Committed Suicide in Exclusive Dr. Phil Interview

Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez tells Dr. Phil McGraw that she has questions regarding fiancé Aaron Hernandez’s death and does not believe the former NFL star committed suicide.

While serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd, Hernandez was found dead in his cell in April just days after being acquitted for a separate double homicide. He was also seeking an appeal in the Lloyd case.

Despite leaving three suicide notes, these bright spots of hope have caused Jenkins to question Hernandez’s death. “That would make me doubt that he took his own life. He was very positive, so excited to come home,” she said.

“It’s just not the Aaron that I know. I think that if he would have done something like this, it would have been at his worst. And I felt it was looking so bright. We were going up a ladder in a sense – to a positive direction… I don’t think this was suicide.”

In the two-part Dr. Phil interview, which aired this week (May 15-16), Shayanna reveals she spoke with Hernandez the night before his death and he didn’t express any suicidal thoughts, even telling their 4-year-old daughter, “Daddy’s gonna be home.”

Jenkins tells McGraw that she doesn’t believe or trust any of the information Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center has released so far. She feels the only way to learn the real truth is when she and Hernandez’s family are able to conduct their own investigation.

McGraw even shows Jenkins surveillance footage to prove no one entered Hernandez’s cell between the time he entered the cell and when his body was found. “I believe there’s some uncounted time. I don’t think things were done properly,” she responded.

Though Hernandez did not have will, Jenkins believes her daughter is entitled the $6.5 million the Patriots may owe Hernandez’s estate after a judge vacated his murder conviction because his appeal was incomplete at the time of his death. Jenkins wants to be the trustee of the money if it’s inherited by her underage daughter.

Mo’Nique Has No Regrets After Blasting Oprah, Tyler Perry & Lee Daniels

Mo’Nique is defending her comments during a recent comedy routine in which she tells Lee Daniels, Oprah and Tyler Perry to “suck my d*ck.”

The comedian made the comment while doing standup at the Apollo Theatre Saturday (May 13) because she believes the powerful Hollywood trio conspired to have her blackballed from Hollywood.

Despite the backlash from dissing Queen Oprah, Mo’Nique tells TMZ she has no regrets about her rant because she was speaking her truth.

“Everything I say comes from my heart. I’m unapologetic about it… What I would say to you guys. What I would say to Oprah, Tyler, Lee, one about me and my husband, we’re not no hiders. We’re not no runners.”

“And when a sista says to me ‘Aren’t you afraid of the blowback?’ what I would say to you as another woman: Aren’t you afraid to even ask [that] question because you would say am ‘I getting blowback for simply being honest?’”

Of course, Mo’Nique’s husband, Sidney Hicks, also sat down for the brief TMZ interview. He reveals that while Oprah and Perry may not have intentionally blackballed his wife, the two were complicit in the Daniels’ attempt to smear Mo’Nique’s reputation.

“Lee Daniels was a part of it, but Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey — if you remember — were a part of the production of the movie. They stood by and they allowed the statements of her difficulty.”

Mind you, Oprah and Perry have not been the target of Mo’Nique’s wrath since her feud with Daniels became gossip fodder two years ago. But it’s clear she and Hicks have been stewing in this bitterness for so long they are now willing to drag Oprah and Perry into this mess.

Hicks also debunked Daniels’ claim that Mo’Nique was difficult to work with during the filming of Precious. He says the two would often eat crab legs and watch playback of the movie after filming ended for the day. “That doesn’t sound like you’re having a difficult time with someone,” he said.

This Hollywood feud is clearly not going away anytime soon. As hilarious and talented as Mo’Nique is, she’s going to continue pushing the “I was blackballed by Lee Daniels and Oprah” narrative until she lands another major project.

“I F**ked Up”: Dave Chappelle Apologizes for Suggesting We Give Donald Trump a Chance

Remember that time Dave Chappelle said he was going to give Donald Trump a chance? Well, he tried!

While performing a routine at a benefit dinner for the Robin Hood non-profit on Monday (May 15) in New York, the comedian apologized for asking the country and, more specifically, black people, to attempt to stand behind the President of the United States even it though it was Trump.

“I was the first guy on TV to say ‘Give Trump a chance.’ I fucked up. Sorry.”

MSNBC anchor Willie Geist was in attendance and tweeted about the comment.

Chappelle received much praise back in November when he hosted the first SNL episode following the 2016 election. Though most of the country was grappling with the fact an incompetent buffoon had just become the president-elect, Chappelle struck a more optimistic tone during his opening monologue.

“I’m wishing Donald Trump luck, and I’m gonna give him a chance. And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one, too.”

Chappelle later made it known that he was not a Trump supporter nor did he vote for 45 (he, in fact, casted a vote for Hillary Clinton). He explained he was simply trying give the country a piece of optimism that he felt when Barack Obama was elected on 2008.

While I was never, ever, not once aboard the “give Trump a chance” boat, I’m guessing the current administration’s constant state of WTF propelled the comedian to escape the “Sunken Place” and backtrack on his original comments.

Andy Cohen Reveals RHOA Cast Refuses to Film with Phaedra Parks, Hints That Reports She Was Fired Are True

The word on the street is that Phaedra Parks will not return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta after her season of lies. Though Bravo has not made an official announcement, Andy Cohen may have confirmed the speculation himself.

Housewives franchise creator and executive producer Cohen briefly mentioned Phaedra while talking to E! News on the blue carpet during the NBCUniversal upfronts on Monday (May 15). While he didn’t explicitly state Phaedra was fired, he did question her future on the show because fellow castmates like Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore refuse to film with her now.

“The question that we look at now with Phaedra is, when the reunion ended, none of the other women wanted to have anything to do with her. So that’s what you have to look at. How do you shoot a show about a group of friends when no one is speaking to one of the friends?”

Again, Bravo execs are currently in the process of deciding contract options for the 10th season of RHOA and nothing has been officially announced.

Castmates, viewers, and possibly even Bravo execs turned on Phaedra when it was revealed during season 9’s four-part reunion that she was source of the rumor that alleged Kandi and husband, Todd Tucker, attempted to drug and sexually take advantage of “housewife” Porsha Williams. She also admitted to making up other lies concerning Kandi and Todd.

Though it didn’t air on TV, Phaedra reportedly blamed RHOA producer Carlos King for feeding her these lies. Bravo denied this claim, but King is also not expected to return to the series next season.

Bethenny Frankel of Real Housewives of New York City also debunked the notion that a producer would orchestrate such drama. “I’ve been doing this for 10 years. I actually, sadly, consider myself to be a veteran. The producers do not make you do these things at all,” she said at the NBCUniversal upfronts.

“The producers don’t know exactly what’s going on, so they might say, ‘Are you going to talk to Kandi about this?’ They don’t know. They would never [manipulate storylines]. It would be a massive problem. This isn’t The Hills, it’s real. It really is. So yeah, no, that would never happen.”

Porsha recently admitted that she hasn’t spoken to Phaedra since filming the reunion. If the other women also refuse to film with the attorney as Cohen suggested, Ms. Fraudra Phaedra Parks really did get her peach snatched.

“Y’all Can Suck My D*ck”: Mo’Nique Blasts Lee Daniels, Tyler Perry & Oprah for Blackballing Her in Hollywood

Mo’Nique just won’t let it go! The actress/comedian went all the way in on Lee Daniels (again) during a recent standup set and brought Oprah into their years-long feud.

The comedian performed a standup routine at the Apollo Theatre on Saturday (May 13). In the midst of her jokes, she rehashed her grievances with Precious director Daniels. She went on to lump Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry in their feud and said that that all three could “suck my d*ck.”

“No, I was not blackballed. I was whiteballed by some black d*cks who had no balls. Thank you, Mr. Lee Daniels. Thank you, Mr. Tyler Perry. Thank you, Ms. Oprah Winfrey. No, baby, I wasn’t blackballed. I was f*cked up by some n****rs who had no balls.

“And see, I know they like to say, ‘Mo’Nique, you talk too mother*cking much.’ It would kill me not to say the real sh*t. You are not paying me equally. You are not treating me fairly. So, y’all can suck my d*** if I had one.”

Mo’Nique and Daniels have been at odds for the past two years after Daniels stated Mo’Nique was difficult to work with. The actress then claimed the big shot director aided in her being blackballed from Hollywood after she won her Oscar in 2010 for Precious because she refused to play Hollywood politics.

Daniels said in a 2015 CNN interview:

“During the [Oscar] campaign, she was making unreasonable demands, and I remember thinking, ‘This is when reverse racism happens.’ You have to thank the producers of the film, you have to thank the studio, and she didn’t understand that.”

It has been war ever since. However, Mo’Nique has only come for Daniels. She never really mentioned Oprah or Perry (who both served as producers on Precious) while being very outspoken about allegedly being blackballed and any other behind-the-scenes drama that may have occurred.

Mo’Nique actually did a good thing by speaking out about the Hollywood “game” and politics. And maybe her career did suffer because of it. But, the whole Lee Daniels/blackballed situation — which she has now brought Oprah and Perry into — is like beating a dead horse, at this point.

I can almost guarantee all three of those Hollywood power players have moved on. So should Mo’Nique.

Tatyanna Lewis: Teen Killed After Being Run Over & Rammed Into Tree by Boyfriend’s Baby Mama

An 18-year-old woman is dead after being repeatedly run over and rammed into a tree by her boyfriend’s baby mama.

Tatyanna Lewis, 18, was killed by a 24-year-old woman Friday night (May 12) in Chicago just after 11 p.m. The attacker — whose name has not been released — rammed Lewis into a tree several times with her Jeep Liberty. Lewis died on the scene.

“The girl just came on the curb and just ran over her two times like she wasn’t nobody to her,” said Jennifer Baggett, a neighbor who witnessed the incident.

The 24-year-old fled the scene, but struck another vehicle about a mile away and was taken into custody. Charges are currently pending.

Police found tree bark lodged into her SUV’s bumper. It’s also being reported a child was in the SUV’s backseat.

Though her identity has not been revealed, Lewis’ attacker went by the name “Molly Quavo” on Facebook. However, her account has been deleted since Friday’s incident.

Media reports are describing the two women as “romantic rivals.” Witnesses say Lewis was leaving a friend’s house when she and her attacker began arguing. Lewis was apparently in a relationship with the older woman’s former lover and the father of her child, Tyshaun Page.

Mere hours before being ran over, Lewis eerily wrote “His bm say she pulling up, I’m on the block right now. Please don’t send me off.”

The two women argued over Page and traded barbs on Facebook days leading up to the fatal incident.

Lewis’ boyfriend and her attacker’s baby daddy, Tyshaun Page, is understandably distraught and expressed his grief on Facebook. “My f*ckin princess, she’s gone,” he wrote in a post. “Y’all don’t feel my f*ckin pain.”

Police are still investigating Lewis’ murder and more details are sure to emerge. “Now, two lives are gone. And he’s gonna be with the next woman,” said Shawanna Strong, who lives in the neighborhood and bluntly reflects on this tragic story.
