ALBUM REVIEW: Kat DeLuna - 9 Lives

9 Lives, appropriately titled, is the debut album from new artist Kat DeLuna that drops August 7th – MAKE SURE YOU BUY IT! I had the pleasure of listening to the retail version and posting a review for the album. One of the singles lifted from the LP, “Whine Up,” features Dancehall artist Elephant Man; other featured album appearances include Shaka Dee. OK, it starts off with this little brief intro basically saying this is what she wanted to do and she’s finally fulfilling her dream – to share her natural born talent with the world! You know what? I think that’s what this record is mostly based around, testimonials. I mean, come on, the title in itself speaks to you! As far as the whole feel; very eclectic and diverse. This chick breaks it down from Spanish, Dancehall to fawwking Opera! This album is truly remarkable and does not vary whatsoever; looks like the basis really is pretty much LOVE, I mean, everybody needs love! Overall its a pretty decent joint, from an artistic standpoint, the lyrics and vocals are beautiful as if colorful harmonies racing through this chick one-hundred miles an hour! The arrangement? Muy bueno, just some feel good musica yo! I would definitely recommend this as a nice buy, my favorite songs are “Love Me, Leave Me”, “Be Remembered”, “Enjoy Saying Goodbye”, and my all time favorite “Am I Dreaming”. LOL, I love when artists do intros and get “A Little More Personal” (shouts to Lindsay)!
