The 33rd Annual UNCF Evening of Stars gala was held Sunday evening (Aug 14) in Pasadena, CA and featured red carpet appearances from Keke Palmer, Pooch Hall & Coby Bell from “The Game,” Lance Gross, Tatyana Ali, Musiq Soulchild, David Banner,  and many others.

During the ceremony, R&B acts like Musiq Soulchild, Miguel, Ledisi, Erykah Badu, Estelle, Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius and more, including music legend Patti Labelle, hit the stage and performed.

Some of the biggest female names in Black Hollywood came out in support of the 4th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon last Thursday night (Feb 24).

Held in Beverly Hills, CA at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the event featured notable red carpet appearances from celebs like Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Tia & Tamera Mowry, Serena Williams, Lauren London, Tatyana Ali, Gabrielle Union, Jill Scott and many more.

Reunited and it feels so good!

The cast of the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” will soon reunite for a good cause. Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), James Avery (Uncle Phil), Karyn Parsons (Hillary), and of course Will Smith, will have lunch with the winner of a Charitybuzz auction, which Tatyana Ali says will be a night to remember.

“Any time on ‘Fresh Prince’ when we all had to sit down at the table together, we called them table scenes. We couldn’t get up, so we’d be there for hours. In those scenes, the outtakes are ridiculous,” Ali told PopEater.com. “We would literally be laughing ’til we cried. So I would expect somebody coming into that to expect to be at a table scene.”

The auction, put together by Karyn Parsons for her non-profit organization “Sweet Blackberry,” an educational initiative committed to bringing little-known tales of African-American history and achievement to children.

“It’s a dining experience with Alfonso Ribeiro [Carlton], Tatyana Ali [Ashley], James Avery [Uncle Phil] and myself, and a meet-and-greet with Will Smith,” Parson’s told Pop Eater earlier this month. “Will’s gonna come by and hang for a minute and meet the winner.”

Parsons’s organization creates educational animated DVDs telling lesser known stories of black history.

“The DVDs Karyn creates for kids are beautifully done,” Tatyana said about Parson’s project. “They’re really sharing these great African-American stories for all children. It really brings the stories to life. I think it’s very important and very apropos — ‘Fresh Prince’ did this too — for us to realize the commonality, how much we share in common.”

Tatyana Ali,who stars in a new TV One sitcom called “Love That Girl” explained that she can’t remember the last time the whole “Fresh Prince” cast sat down together. She also had a few words for the Charity winner.

“Expect a lot of laughter, a lot of warmth. We’re all individually pretty warm people,” Ali says. “And I’m pretty sure we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Wow! The entire “Fresh Prince” cast (minus Jeffrey and Vivian) under one roof? Sounds exciting! How about a Fresh Prince reunion episode?

The 2010 BET Awards went down Sunday night (Jun 27) live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and the red carpet was full of black star power as celebrities like Ciara, T.I. Actor/comedian Chris Tucker and actress Angela Bassett were spotted at the 9th annual Power of a Dream Gala hosted by the U.S. Dream Academy at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

And Reggae artist Damien Marley and rapper Nas continued the promotional efforts for their newly released joint album Distant Relatives by paying a visit to BET Studios in New York City Monday (May 17) to record an episode of 106 & Park.

LisaRaye McCoy-Misick and her daughter Kai Morae attended the premiere screening launch party for LisaRaye’s new show “Lisa Raye: The Real McCoy” at the Standard Hotel in Los Angeles Tuesday night (Apr 6). The 42-year-old actress, who is currently in the middle of divorcing her husband Michael Misick, will reportedly get very candid about her marriage in the upcoming show, set to premiere tonight at 9 PM Eastern on TV One.

Her battle and the race to find a match for the bone marrow transplant has garnered a lot of press and media attention, especially from the Black celebrities, including Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Natalie Cole, Vivica A. Fox and more.

Soon-to-be newlyweds Lance Gross and Eva Marcille were all booed up at the Los Angeles screening of “Russell Simmons Presents Brave New Voices,” held at the Steven J. Ross Theater on the Warner Bros. studio lot last Wednesday in Burbank, California.

Actress/singer Jennifer Hudson was spotted at the Balthazar VIP Dinner, sponsored by Topshop, Wednesday night in new York. Catch her in a town near you as she goes on tour with Robin Thicke!
