Akon & T-Pain

Eighteen people were injured at an Akon (featuring T-Pain) concert in Melbourne, Australia Monday night (Oct 26) when over 50 people rushed security guards to get into the venue. Sadly 8 to 11 of the eighteen people had to be rushed to the hospital for serious trauma.  Although a lot of fans were involved in the chaotic brawl only a 21 year old male who knocked a security guard unconsciousness during the melee has been charged with assault.

To no avail, Akon jumped into crowd during his performance to try stop the crowd from fighting.  A YouTube video shows Akon jumping down with his body guards trying to calm the fans down while the crowd cheered. Akon, top of one of his bodyguards’ shoulders at this this point, directs his attention toward the crowd saying, “Hold on Melbourne…I need ya’ll to let me speak for one second. I don’t know if ya’ll know how hard it took me to get there. It took me almost two years for Australia… and I am not going to let them f*ck up our concert tonight.”

T-Pain - "More Careful" (click to watch!)

T-Pain released a track and an accompanying video called “More Careful” last weekend where he appears to be apologizing for making a fool of himself recently when he dissed Jay-Z to get attention. The freestyle is set to Trey Songz and Drake’s “Successful” song and you can hear Pain saying: “I got the money, the money and the cars, the cars and the clothes, and unless I wanna let it all go, I just gotta be, I just gotta be more careful,” he croons on the chorus.”

Jay-Z and T-Pain // T-Pain and Fabolous

T-Pain says there’s no beef between him and rapper Jay-Z and the only reason he said what he made those comments at that club in Vegas was to get the New York rapper’s attention so that he could clarify exactly who he was targeting with his song, “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune).”

“Every time I saw his interviews, he just said, ‘T-Pain is a talented dude,’ ” Pain told New York radio station Power 105’s Ed Lover Wednesday morning (September 9). “But I will say the interview he did yesterday” — in which Jay said, “I made it very clear I wasn’t talking about him” — “that made me feel better.” T-Pain said his issue with Jay-Z stemmed from the two’s appearance onstage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert in New Jersey in June. T-Pain joined Jay-Z during his performance of “D.O.A.” just days after the rapper premiered the track. In the song, Jay-Z jabs at artists who have been relying on Auto-Tune too much for their vocals; he absolved Lil Wayne and Kanye West from his complaint, but wasn’t quite as vocal in defending T-Pain, who played a major role in bringing the vocal-enhancing device into the pop consciousness.

T-Pain said he was a fan of the song from the onset, and said he even reached out Jay-Z to join him onstage during Summer Jam. But Jay-Z told him he was overseas in Switzerland, he said, and wouldn’t be able to make it. When Jay-Z did make a surprise appearance at Summer Jam, T-Pain said he was shocked. Hov went onstage with Young Jeezy; T-Pain said he joined the pair onstage at the recommendation of one of Jay-Z’s associates. Afterward, though, according to T-Pain, Jay-Z snubbed him.

Jay-Z and T-Pain Jay-Z and T-Pain

According to a new viral video making its way around the Internet, T-Pain is no fan of Jay-Z and his “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” song. T-Pain is a regular user of the voice enhancing effect in his music and he had a few choice words for Jay-Z during a DJ set at a club in Las Vegas over the weekend.

“Jay-Z is 59 years old. I don’t think he has the right to say what’s good and what’s not,” Pain said at the club Rehab while on the mic. “I think if anything is dead, it should be him. … To any Jay-Z fans out in the crowd, excuse the f— outta me. But you don’t see me saying ‘rap is dead,’ even though it is. ‘Cause apparently all the rappers are trying to do T-Pain.”

Pain then started singing, “All rappers out there are using Auto-Tune …”

This is definitely a huge contrast to how he appeared to feel about the song early this summer when Jay-Z performed it for the first back in June at the Hot 97 Sumer Jam in New Jersey. Jay-Z says he felt like a fan was coming up to him when T-Pain made his surprise appearance during Jay-Z’s set.

“I look, and I see somebody to my right, and I swear I thought it was a fan coming up to me to hug me,” Jay told Hot 97 a few months back. ” ‘Cause I didn’t see who it was. I thought it was some cool, rock-star stuff. And then I saw him move again, and I looked back. I guess [T-Pain] wanted to get close to me … It was a little awkward, but it was cool.

Jay-Z performs at Dodgers stadium in Phoenix, AZ

Popular financial gurus Forbes has released yet another list. Their previous list featured Beyonce perched at the top, earning a staggering $87 million in one 12-month period. And now her husband, rapper Jay-Z, is sitting at the top of the “Hip-Hop Cash Kings List,” earning an estimated $35 million over the past 12 months. A far cry from the $82 million he pulled in last year, but still pretty damn good, especially in a recession.

Fellow NY rapper Diddy came in right behind Hov with $30 million in the bank, with Chicago rapper Kanye West following behind with $25 million. Continue reading to see who made the top 10!

Jamie Foxx // 2009 BET Awards (Show)

Here Jamie Foxx can be seen paying tribute to Michael Jackson (comedically, of course) as the host of the 2009 BET Awards, which aired live from Los Angeles Sunday night (Jun 28) on BET. Jamie Foxx is probably one of the few people who can make light of a sad situation and have everyone laughing and crying at the same time. The BET Awards was supposed to dedicate the entire show to Michael, per the press release sent out Friday, but failed to impress.

The show itself was pretty good, but they should have never mentioned dedicating the show to MIchael if they didn’t have the time to do it right. That said, we really hope they put together an entire special to honor the late King of Pop so they can at least try to save face. But for now, continue reading for photos of Soulja Boy, Jay-Z, Monica, Beyonce, Ne-Yo and many more celebrities who participated in this year’s BET Awards.
