T.I. & Tiny

As Tiny sits at home holding down the fort, she briefly discusses with her fiancee  T.I. on the phone, “How is everything going?” And she’s provided an update on everything going on with the rapper.

“He hears things and we talk about it. He wants me to stay out the way, me being out of harm’s way. I know it’s a lot of crazy things going on so I try to stay in as much as possible because I don’t have him here. So I come out only when it’s necessary. I stay out the way…He’s doing good. He’s passing the time by working out and just doing things they do inside, you know,” she told All Hip Hop.

Tiny goes to visit T.I. every Sunday or Monday, with the only exception being an outbreak of a gastrointestinal virus in mid June swept the prison. Visitations were suspended for 18 days after 158 of the 2,000 plus inmates, along with several correctional staff members, reported symptoms of the virus. One inmate did test positive for norovirus.

But we’re glad to know all is peace in harmony in the world Tiny and T.I. as the Atlanta rapper  is still scheduled to be released from prison in the year 2010.

T.I. - "Hell of A Life" (click to watch!)

Check out rapper T.I.’s latest music video: “Hell of a Life.” The video, which premiered a couple weeks ago, shows basically follows up where “Remember Me” left off, and the tone of the song/video is much happier.

“Hell of a Life” is similar [to "Remember Me"], with Tip donning his prison duds early in the clip. But while “Remember Me” struck a more somber tone, “Hell of a Life” is celebratory. After the rapper enters prison, the Erik White-directed video flashes back 24 hours. Tip is shown all alone in a bedroom-like setting watching his career highlights on a flat-screen TV.

T.I. on VH1's "Behind the Music" (click to watch!)

VH1 aired T.I.’s episode of their newly returned original series, “Behind the Music” last Thursday (Oct 8). If you didn’t catch it or caught it and would like to see it again, here it is! The 41 minute video really dives deep into T.I.’s past life as a drug dealer and budding rap star. He also goes a bit more in depth into the situation that left his best friend/assistant Philant Johnson dead and explains why he was carrying a stock pile of firearms following that incident.

In 2006, T.I. released his fourth album “King” and also made his movie debut in the film ATL. But drama would meet him once again that spring. At a concert after-party in Cleveland, Ohio an altercation erupted between the rapper and some club goers. After leaving the club, the vehicle carrying T.I. and his entourage was sprayed with a barrage of bullets – wounding the driver, T.I.’s bodyguard, and T.I.’s personal assistant and good friend Philant Johnson. Phil was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The death of Phil caused T.I. to feel immense guilt; questioning if he wanted to continue with his rap career. He said for all the times he’d been arrested for having guns the one time he needed a gun he didn’t have one.

2007’s “T.I. vs. TIP” highlighted T.I.’s heightened paranoia following the death of Phil. If that wasn’t bad enough, police officials that same year informed him that his name and address were on a “hit list” compiled by gang members. T.I. was also receiving death threats via phone calls that were being sent to him and his family members. Because of this he started to stockpile firearms.

"Takers" Movie Poster

Take a look at what’s being passed around as the movie poster for the upcoming “Takers” movie, starring Idris Elba, T.I., Chris Brown, Michael Ealy, Hayden Christensen and Paul Walker. We’re not so sure if this poster is “official” because it looks heavily photoshopped. T.I. and Paul’s heads look way too big for the bodies they were placed on. Besides, the movie doesn’t come out for another 6 months…

But one thing we do know is official is the trailer Screen Gems released online last week. Continue reading to check that out!

Shawty Lo // School Supply Drive at Club Crucial in Atlanta

Well isn’t that something. T.I. does his philanthropist thing even behind steel bars! The Atlanta rapper, along with fellow ATLien Shawty Lo and Club Crucial, donated bags with the slogan “Education is Crucial” filled with school supplies to a group of needy children in Bankhead, Atlanta.

It always does our heart good to see celebrities, especially rappers, giving back to their old communities. And it’s even better when the two main people giving back used to go at each other’s throats back in the day! Check out some pics below.
