Though Soulja Boy has always respected Jay-Z, he recently told MTV that he didn’t always like his music, mainly because he was young and just didn’t understand what he was talking about. In response to his fans saying a Jay-Z collab wouldn’t work because “he’s lame,” Soulja Boy says that reason is definitely not the case. Now that he’s older and grown up, he’s a fan and would like to work with him in the future.

“Jay-Z, I always respected him. Always. But I didn’t always like his music. I guess because I was too young, and I couldn’t understand what he was saying. … I got signed when I was 16 years old. Before I got signed, I heard the song, and I was like, ‘That’s Jay-Z.’

Dates and a final line up are still on the verge of being confirmed, but word on the sidewalk is that Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Drake and Soulja Boy are going on tour this summer! If this turns out to be true, this will most likely be the summer season’s biggest hip-hop tour.

A rep from Soulja Boy’s camp confirmed the news to MTV and Soulja Boy himself made a “TSA (Twitter Service Announcement)” on his Twitter Thursday (June 4) night also confirming the tour:

“TSA (Twitter Service Announcement) — I’m going on Tour with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy & Drake this summer! Get ya tickets ASAP!!!!”

Rapper Kanye West and WNBA star Lisa Leslie were among the many celebrities who spent their Thursday (June 4) evening at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as the Lakers took on the Magic during Game One of the NBA Finals. And that became very obvious when a group of students protested outside of his concert at Minnesota University last Friday (Apr. 3rd). They were angry that a rap artist who uses “degrading” lyrics was booked to perform.
