Soulja Boy is suing his former manager Philip Ransom on claims that he was tricked into signing one contract that would guarantee Ransom 5% of all earnings forever … and another that would give at least 50% of all of Soulja’s music copyrights to his record label.

According to TMZ:

Soulja Boy was nothing more than an ignorant 16-year-old when he skyrocketed to fame in 2007 — and now, the rapper’s suing his ex-manager … claiming the guy took advantage of his naive teenage brain.

Soulja filed the documents in Georgia Superior Court, claiming his manager/lawyer Philip Ransom coerced him into signing multiple contracts when he was just starting out — contracts that were “unconscionable, oppressive, and unjust.”

According to the docs, the contracts included a management agreement that gave Ransom 5% of Soulja’s income … forever … relating to work the rapper completed while Ransom was his manager.

Another contract allegedly gave 50% of all Soulja’s music copyrights to his record label — a deal the rapper now claims is “commercially unreasonable” and “contrary to music industry custom and practice.”

But in reality, Soulja’s just bitching because he didn’t read the fine print — the contracts Soulja signed ARE industry standard … some recording contracts even take 100% of the copyrights.

Ransom denies the allegations — filing new legal docs claiming Soulja’s full of crap … and still owes him money from their time together.

Let this be a lesson to all of you young, naive aspiring entertainers out there. When someone comes along to offer to “manage” your career … make sure you read the fine print! (Or at least get someone else you trust to do it for you.)

Soulja Boy may want get his rent paid ASAP!!!

According to TMZ, the “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper has been served with eviction papers for his Atlanta home.

Apparently, Soulja owes $4,275 for the month of November … and has until December 5th to have it paid or he will be thrown out. (C’mon son!)

Soulja Boy has issued out an apology to all his fans for his arrest yesterday morning.

As we previously reported, the “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper was arrested after cops caught him and four other men driving with marijuana, guns and $70,000 cash in their possession.

Upon his release, Soulja posted the following to his Twitter account:

“Thank you and i’m sorry. love you forever, seeing your letters and you standing outside that jail made me feel the love. my fans r the best.”"

He also added:

“I missed 10 interviews today for my new movie! to those companies i’m sorry! you can see I had a lil situation. the show must go on.”

“Goodnight. much love go cop soulja boy the movie everywhere now thanks for your prayers.”

It’s nice to see Soulja reaching out to his fans after the incident, but something about all this leaves several big question marks.

We get the marijuana … but why was he driving around with 4 other people with unregistered guns and $70,000 in cash money?

While most of us were sleep, rapper Soulja Boy was arrested early this morning in Temple, GA.

The 21-year-old rapper — real name DeAndre Cortez Way — was popped early this morning by Temple Police Department officers in Temple, GA at 3:15 AM.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Soulja was in a car with 4 other men, which was originally pulled over for a traffic violation.

We’re told … during the stop, cops found a “substantial amount” of marijuana and cash inside the vehicle.” Soulja and the 4 other men were all arrested. Soulja is still being held in Carrol County Jail.

Law enforcement sources tell us officers also found guns inside the car — though it’s unclear if any of the men had the proper licenses to be in possession of the firearms.

We’re told an investigation is underway.

One source with knowledge of the situation tells us there was roughly $70,000 in cash and drugs in the car.

Soulja Boy has penned an open apology for the negative remarks he made about U.S. Military troops in his new track “Let’s Be Real.”

The SODMG rapper posted the following to Global Grind:

As an artist, I let my words get the best of me. Sometimes there are things that we feel, things that we want to express, and when we put them on paper and speak them out loud, they can come out wrong. When I expressed my frustration with the US Army, not only did my words come out wrong, I was wrong to even speak them. So, I write this to give my sincerest apology to all members of the United States military services, as well as their families that were offended by my most recent lyrics.

As a young man who grew up in the post-9/11 era, I have watched our country fight two wars that seem like they are never going to end. I have seen thousands and thousands of our brave men and women get killed in battle and often times, I think for what? A lot of people in this country are struggling to make ends meet and I think a lot about what if we had never gone to war. Where would our economy be? Our schools, our after-school and work programs, our streets? I mean, damn, 48 people got shot in New York City just this past weekend … in 3 days … I’m not saying that it is just because of a bad economy, but at a certain point we have to take care of our own people.

In no way would I ever want to offend those who are protecting our freedoms … a lot of homeboys who I grew up with, a lot of people who come from the neighborhoods we live in … In no way do I want to hurt any of our honorable soldiers who put their lives at risk, regardless of how they feel about the two wars we fight in. I am just frustrated that we haven’t been able to bring you all home quick enough and my frustration got the best of me. I am deeply sorry.

On the track, Soulja says:

And whether he meant for it to be taken the wrong way or not … Soulja’s words are already coming back to bite him right in the ass.

The commissioner for the L.A. County Veteran’s Advisory Commission is now demanding an apology for what he calls a very offensive statement.

“It’s a very offensive statement … especially with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 coming up. He should apologize to ALL armed forces. [The rap] is very irresponsible, especially for a person who is an entertainer for the youth of our country,” Fred A. Flores told TMZ.

This may be America and we may have this cool thing called “Freedom of Speech” … but making outlandish statements like “f*ck all the army troops” isn’t going to get you very far in life Soulja Boy!

Soulja Boy may have gotten carried away with his 21st birthday celebrations when admitting to buying himself a $55 million G5 Jet.

Earlier in the week, TMZ posted a story stating that the rapper bought himself the lavish gift:

We spoke with Soulja, a member of his management team named Shai Storm and Soulja’s assistant — who all verified Soulja dropped the cash on the private jet as a 21st birthday gift to himself.

However, Greg Miller, an alleged spokesperson for the “Crank That” rapper has denied the reports stating that they are both “untrue and elaborate.” Could it be to do with the fact that Soulja owes nearly $30,000 in back taxes maybe?

According to official documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the State of California filed a $26,805 tax lien against the singer on March 24, 2011. He also owed the State of Mississippi $3,571 in back taxes but he paid the full amount just last week on July 22, 2011.In other unfortunate news, his home in Georgia was foreclosed on last year, according to the Detroit News Tax Watchdog blog.

Soulja Boy turned 21 yesterday … and to celebrate (like no other), the rapper is dropping $55 million on a brand new, tricked out private jet!

Sources close to the few-hit wonder emcee told TMZ that he bought himself a G5 worth $35 million, but he spent an additional $20 million to pimp it out with 12 custom italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a special “travertine” tiled floor –whatever the hell that is — and Brazilian hardwood cabinets.

He also plans on ripping out the standard lavatory to install a luxury bathroom, and getting a custom paint job with his logo for the plane’s exterior.

And apparently, a $55 million jet is just a PART (albeit a BIG part) of his birthday celebration this week.

He’s also spending $300K on a big birthday bash in Miami tonight, which is expected to be attended by Dwight Howard, Bow Wow, Sean Kingston and more. The party will be streamed live via his website.

But where on earth does Soulja Boy get money like that to spend? And does he realize that his chances of making any more get smaller and smaller every time one of his albums flop? These are two questions that need to be answered ASAP before this guy ends up becoming a 21st century MC Hammer!

“I wanted to clear the air and let everyone know that my Facebook got hacked.”

He went on to explain, “I had administrators on my account that no longer work with me. The hackers used these old accounts to post hateful messages.  This was not done by me or anyone on my team and I’m upset that I am being labeled as a racist and homophobic person.”

Soulja Boy recently announced to the world that he would be remaking the 1992 film “Juice” starring as Bishop — the role that turned rapper Tupac Shakur into a movie star. And on this past Wednesday (May 11), the “Crank That” rapper appeared on MTV’s “RapFix Live” where he told Sway that he was also asked to audition for the role of Shakur in the upcoming Antoine Fuqua-directed Tupac biopic.

“I got an email from William Morris Agency — that’s my agency that I’m with — they reached out to me to play the part. I’m just still thinking about it right now. Even with the whole ‘Juice’ movie, I’m playing a part that Tupac played, but I’m not actually playin’ ‘Pac. When it comes to this, I’m actually gonna be playin’ ‘Pac, so I’m really still just thinkin’ about it. But I’m just honored that they would reach out to me and ask me anyway.”

The 20 year old rapper recently went to Miami to work on a track with Sean Kingston and meet up with the Cash Money CEO. “I met with Baby and Slim down in Miami. He’s trying to get me to come over to Cash Money,” he dished to RapUp.com. He continued, “I still got paperwork with Interscope Records, so I’m just trying to figure out what I’ma do. I got a lot of great options on the table. I’ve been a fan of Cash Money since I was young. I’ve been listening to Birdman’s music since I was growing up. I would have never thought.”

So is the “Turn My Swag On” rapper considering the move?

“I’m taking it into consideration,” Soulja Boy said. “Birdman, we really had a good talk when we met. But I’m still young. I’m only 20 years old. So after I do these two albums, I either have the choice to go back to Interscope and re-up, do my contract over, or I can go down to Miami with Cash Money.”

If he does decide to go south, he’ll be in good company with Drake, Lil Wayne, Bow Wow and Nicki Minaj.

Popular Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy thinks he has what it takes to reprise Pac’s role as “Bishop” in his own SODMG adaptation of the cult classic movie ‘Juice.’ Apparently, the film will coincide with his mixtape bearing the same name.

VIBE: Can you tell us a little bit about the story line for Juice?
SB: Basically, it’s your boy Soulja and I’m Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we’re flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that’s all. I got same video director that shot “Crank That,” “Kiss Me Through The Phone,” “Turn My Swag On” —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie.

Did you cast any other rappers in the flick?
Yeah, man. Actually Cam’Ron reached out to get in the movie. Some of the original actors that were in the original reached out too. We’re in pre-production right now. We start filming on the Apr. 28th in Atlanta. It’s going to be crazy. Of course I’m going to have my S.O.D. family in there. We’re juicing up!

Soulja Boy missed out quite possibly his one (AND ONLY) chance at ever receiving a Grammy when he lost to Kanye West. And now, the 20-year-old rapper tells AP that HE deserved that honor…..NOT Kanye West.

The rapper’s breakthrough song “Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)” was up for the Grammy Award for “Best Rap Song” in 2008, but Kanye West and T-Pain‘s “Good Life” ended up taking the trophy the night of the ceremony. Soulja Boy says, initially, he “wasn’t really thinking about it” and hoped that he “would get it next year.” But now, years later, it seems as though Mr. Tell ‘Em has had a change of heart.

While recording his recently released third studio album (that debuted at #73 on the Billboard 200 chart with only 13,000 copies sold), Soulja Boy says he started feeling like he “should have got that Grammy.” He even wrote a song about it, called it “Grammy” and put it on The Deandre Way (his new album).

To date, Kanye West has earned 14 Grammy Awards, while Soulja Boy has only been nominated that one time. Poor kid.

The SODMG rapper is claiming that he wrote Willow Smith’s hit single “Whip My Hair”.

Peep what he said on Twitter recently below:

“Yes it’s true I wrote Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair”, that’s why she says Hop Up Out The Bed, Turn My Swag On,” Soulja tweeted.

But Janae Rockwell and Ronald “Jukebox” Jackson are the ones credited for the track. C’mon son!

Soulja also went on to tweet about how he needs to sign the next big female artist.

“All I need to do now is sign the next biggest female star to my label… hmmmm… *puts on thinking cap*.”

Good luck with that one Mr. Tell ‘Em…

Though Soulja Boy’s not known for having big opening weeks (his debut, Souljaboytellem.com sold 117K its first week and his sophomore album only sold 46K copies its first week), selling less than 20-30K copies of any album when you’re considered a mainstream rapper has GOT to be disappointing! Poor guy…

Soulja Boy made a pitstop at “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night (Thurs. Nov 11) with a special Veteran’s Day performance of his latest single “Speakers Going Hammer,” with music provided by the Tonight Show band.

Does Bow Wow need an intervention? Judging by a recent series of message the rapper recently posted to his Twitter account, we would think so!

Over the weekend, a seemingly depressed Bow Wow took to his Twitter to vent about his “struggles” as a rich and famous celebrity and how he wishes he were dead because he feels as though that’s the only way he’ll get “peace.” Peep what the young Hip-Hop star wrote below:

“I swear i be wishing i was dead sometimes. Because i feel like that’s the only way ill get peace,” Bow Wow tweeted Saturday (Nov 6). “People don’t know me man. Yall don’t … start looking at Shad. Not Bow wow. F*ck Bow. I go through sh*t daily. I’m Just like yall. I sacrificed my life for this Hip Hop sh*t. I put my REAL life on hold. If i could do it over…. I wudda went to school. Got me a reg job.”

Bow Wow’s suicidal tweets also caught the attention of his friends, R&B singer Chris Brown and rapper Soulja Boy who both offered their own words of encouragement.

“@bowwow n**ga shut up! Stop talking like that! Don’t let nobody steal your joy! Whoop,” Chris Brown tweeted, which was followed by Soulja Boy‘s tweet: “Its gone be ok @BowWow NOTHING is worth killing yourself over brother. Let God handle it”

Soulja Boy is right (wait….did we just say that?) NOTHING is worth killing yourself over…… and we literally mean NOTHING!

In fact, people would KILL to be put into your position Bow Wow. Stop stressing over it and enjoy your life as it is. We’re sure if the tables were turned and you weren’t famous, you’d be wishing you were famous and didn’t have a “regular job.”

50 Cent and Soulja Boy mean mug on the cover of the November 2010 issue of XXL Magazine, which will feature a provocative photoshoot and three-part cover story that includes separate profiles on 50 and Soulja, followed by a Q&A roundtable discussion between the two rappers.

Soulja Boy has a song called “Shootout” and based on newly released excerpts from the rapper’s recent interview with Vibe Magazine, Soulja’s music ended up being a perfect example of life imitating art!

Soulja Boy covers the first ever digital issue of VIBE Magazine and in his feature, the 20-year-old entertainer talks about how he and his friends were involved in a shoot out at his home in Atlanta late last year. While they were in the studio recording, three thieves broke into his house and it all went down hill from there.

“I’m thinking if I shoot this nigga, I can get that gun and shoot all these niggas at the same time,” says Soulja. “So I jumped out, shot at the dude four times and missed. He ducked down and ran. Eventually, all three robbers fled the crib. Looking back on the situation, Soulja says Interscope Records didn’t want him discussing the shooting because of his fan base. But now that he’s an adult, he no longer wants to hold back.

“I really didn’t want nobody to know that I shot somebody,” he says appearing relieved to finally get out his account. “My label [didn't] want that out there [because] when the robbery went down I had fans like 9, 10 years old. But being that I’m 20, I don’t give a fuck no more. Ain’t nobody take shit [from me that night].”

Bow Wow isn’t the only young rapper making moves in the film industry!

Word on the sidewalk is that Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em and rapper/actor turned TV executive Nick Cannon are teaming up to shoot a film written by the TEENick chairman this fall.

According to Soulja Boy, production for the new film will begin this November. The “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper told MTV News:

“Me and Nick Cannon have been talking back and forth for, like, the last year about a movie idea,” SB told MTV News. “I did a movie with him earlier this year with Justin Bieber ['School Gyrls'], and it went straight to Nickelodeon. It was a good movie, but it was mostly for kids. We were talking back and forth, and he wants me to star in a movie that he wrote when he was, like, 17.”

He didn’t reveal any further details about this movie, but the 20-year-old entertainer said that he hopes that this is just the beginning of his film career, adding that one day he hopes to shoot a biopic:

“I want people to know my story. Because a lot of people know Soulja Boy and know my songs, but a lot of people don’t know where I’m from or where I came from, how I did it. A lot of people do know, but a movie would paint the picture so much better. I wanna do a movie that’s my story, my legacy; what got me here and why I’m still here.”
