Up and coming rapper Wale recently sat down with Honey Mag and touched on a few things, including relationships, his female fans, his new album and a hot topic we all would like to know more about … his “relationship” with singer Solange:

“I do love her,” he admits of Solange, flashing a Cheshire. “We’re friends. She’s amazing. She’s a good person. Any single mother contributing to society the way she does — I got a lot of love for them. She’s got to do a lot on her own and raise a young black man in this day and age, so my hat goes off to her. She’s definitely an anomaly. And the way she can do that and manage to do the same things that I complain about having to do.”

His affection is as obvious as a set of flushed cheeks. And impossibly adorable. Wale, the former mixtape rapper from inner city DC, is borderline giddy.

“Did you interview Solange about me?” Wale asks. He’s sprawled across his bed; head practically buried in the pillow. “Did she smile when you mentioned my name?”

There may be another child joining the Knowles clan, but not by the woman we know as Tina Knowles! Beyonce and Solange’s father, Mathew Knowles has had a paternity suit filed against him by TV actress Alexandra Wright. Wright is in her late 30s, lives in LA, and has appeared as a guest in shows like “Scrubs” and “JAG.” She has been pregnant for six months and has hired attorney Neal Hersh to handle the case.

Mathew Knowles has been married to Tina Knowles since 1980 (and are now separated), but we’re not so surprised. There have always been scandals involving Mathew but they’ve always been resolved outside of the court so we can’t wait to see his this one pans out.

Singer (and mommy) Solange recently sat down with Honey Magazine and talked about a lot of interesting things, including raiding Bjork’s closet, fashion, her new haircut, her son  and her new album, among other things. She even touched a bit on her “relationship” with rapper Wale, which she sort of denied but at the same time left the possibility open.

Well, speaking of assumptions. I think a lot of people have been zeroing in on Twitter convos between you and a certain Mr. Wale, automatically linking the two of you together. Then we see Central Park photos…
Riiiight.

Whether we’re rooting for it or not… we just want to know.

Beyonce and her younger sister Solange attended a press conference early Monday (Aug 10) at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel in Japan to promote the “Samantha Thavasa & Disney Handbag Collection.”

This is the first time Solange has made a public appearance without a wig since she cut her how down really short a while back. We actually think she looks good here!

BET Networks recently announced via press release that rappers Jay-Z, Fabolous and Young Jeezy and gospel duo Mary Mary have all been added to the official line-up of performers for the 2009 BET Awards. Hot on the heels of rumors (that were later denounced) of Solange being dropped from her record label comes news that the Geffen Records singer is set to begin working on her follow up to Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. And word on the sidewalk is that we will finally hear a duet between her and her superstar sister Beyonce!

“I definitely think that they’ll be a time and a place for me and my sister to collaborate,” Solange told MTV News. “It’s just all about the time and the place and letting it evolve naturally — and whenever that day happens well embrace it well come up with something good. I’ve actually started the early groundwork for the third record,” she explained. “More so in finding out and experimenting on who I want to be on board with … just more so experimenting with the ideas of finding one or two solid musicians and building from there.”

“Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in place with Solange. Her remarkable achievements speak for themselves.”

Shortly after that statement released, s spokesperson for Interscope released this statement:

“Contrary to rumors floating through the internet over the last few days, Solange remains a part of the Interscope Geffen A&M family.”

Just one week after Kelly’s “amicable departure” from Columbia comes news of Solange being dropped from her imprint, Geffen, due to poor sales of her latest album, Sol-Angel and the Hadly Street Dreams. They say she was released after the label decided not to renew her contract after a 1-year deal with them. Damn!

The disc, which was her sophomore album, was released last summer (August 2008), and after over 6 months of circulation has only sold 138,000 copies to date. Black Voices says the poor performance of the disc has prompted label execs to bring their working relationship to an end.

“Geffen did a one-off deal with Music World Entertainment for Solange and wasn’t interested in doing a new contract with her. People at the label really liked working with her because other than her infamous news outburst in Las Vegas, she was a constant professional. There were challenges dealing with her camp, but Solange was great to work with. In the end, the CD didn’t sell despite Solange’s countless high profile appearances,” the record label source told AOL BV’s Jawn Murray.

The 2009 SXSW Festival, most notably known as one of the biggest events in the music world, went down in Austin and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, with the help of Dell, held a music and media conference to celebrate day four of the event. Remember when Solange passed out and posted about all of it on Twitter? It turns out it wasn’t because of an overdose on flu pills or anything. It was actually because of dehydration. But anyway, TMZ just posted these photos of her sleeping that sh*t off on the floor of a New York airport. That damn TMZ lol…

Solange Knowles was hospitalized last week for dehydration and low blood pressure — and these pictures were snapped as she lay passed out on the ground. Knowles went on to Twitter about how she thinks she took too much Nyquil and woke up surrounded by random people.

No word if this was a part of Etta James’ revenge plot.

Just so you know, we follow @solangeknowles on Twitter. Are you following us yet? Anyway, your girl Solange thought it’d be a good idea to pop a few flu pills to rid herself of the bug. She later realized she had taken too many, and before she knew it, she was surrounded by about 8 people in baggage claim at the airport.

We’re always checking for her updates on Twitter, and she often talks about how she doesn’t feel well, but she always makes her scheduled performances with ease. Talk about work ethic!

R&B star Solange Knowles was admitted to a hospital when she collapsed after downing flu pills on a flight out of New York on Tuesday night (Feb. 17th 2009). Beyonce’s younger sister was treated by medics after taking the capsules on board a plane and suffering an adverse reaction to the medication. Her muddled mental state was laid bare in a series of bizarre postings on social networking website Twitter.com which she uploaded during the journey. But three hours into the trip, her messages suddenly stopped after she complained of feeling sleepy – and three hours later she logged back on to the website to tell fans: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital?”

According to a recent press release, Beyonce and Solange canceled their “Hope for the Holidays” concert. The original plan for the show was to benefit victims of Hurricane Ike, but unfortunately the duo suffered “a set of irresolvable scheduling conflicts.”

The one-hour “Beyonce and Solange: Hope for the Holidays” benefit concert was set to take place last night, December 9th, at Houston’s House of Blues, and was supposed to debut on the Fuse network later on in the month on December 21st.

BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL IS HEADED BACK TO PRISON » after allegedly testing positive for drugs. The man, most known for being married to singer Amy Winehouse, was just released from rehab last month, according to People. He went there after being released from prison early, but since he’s being recalled back to jail, he must serve the remainder of his 27-month sentence, meaning that he won’t get out of jail until 2010.

The U.K.’s Sun newspaper also reports that Fielder-Civil ran away from the rehab facility Tuesday night to visit his estranged wife. Winehouse, 25, remains hospitalized in London as part of her ongoing treatment, her rep told PEOPLE earlier this week. Fielder-Civil “turned up in hospital and hell broke loose,” according to The Sun’s source. “He was asking Amy to forgive him.”

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil wed in Miami in 2007. The “Rehab” singer dedicated this year’s Grammy wins to “my Blake, my Blake incarcerated.” But the singer had not visited her husband since his November release. Just last weekend, Fielder-Civil hinted to the News of the World that he was ready to end their union. “I have to let her go to save her life.”

The 2008 Video Music Awards aired Sunday night and yours truly is here to bring you the 411 on all of the hottest (and not so hot) styles worn at the show! There were many hot styles worn to the show, but first and foremost, I gotta show some love to the men, because if you take out the select few that I will talk about later on in the post, just about every guy was dressed to impress! Some of the best dressed male celebs of the night were Ludacris, Ne-Yo, LL Cool J, T.I, John Legend, and Chris Brown. Ludacris looked like Mr. Urban High Fashion wearing Gucci from head to toe (tie included), Ne-Yo also looked good rocking Gucci from head to toe, LL Cool J lost the bedazzled tee’s and kept it simple yet classy in Gucci, John Legend really gave an edge to the classic white button up, black tie, and pants look by adding a fly white leather jacket, and Chris Brown decided not to wear his favorite red carpet designer and opted for a Louis Vuitton Jacket, Cassett Jeans, and Dior kicks. I knew it would not be long before young music starlet Solange Knowles (aka Solange or Solo) got the chance to scholar in her own right with the new album appropriately entitled SoL-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (Music World Ent./Geffen). Featured guest appearances on this project, both composition and production, include Bama Boyz, Bilal, Mark Ronson, and The Neptunes to name just a few.

Hadley Dreams is a jazzy tune composed of soul and blues to last a lifetime; to give you a general idea, some of Hadley Dream’s tracks can cite old inspiration from Diana and The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis as far as production. Overall, Hadley Dreams is a bluesy, harmonic, melancholy — yet “When all is said and done, move on with stride“-type of record.

I think Solange has grown — not only as a singer — but also as a songwriter, it really shows, especially with the album Hadley Dreams; with sounds spouting from the 70s/80s, this album is like a groovy gem! I think Solange flourishes eclectically with this entire project and I am just so amazed of the talent spewing from this artist creatively as a whole.

My recommended track listens would have to be “T.O.N.Y.“, which is definite single material, “Would’ve Been the One“, “6′O Clock Blues“, “Dancing in the Dark“, “Valentines Day“, and the melodic “Cosmic Journey“.

Here is the official T2W video premiere of “Sandcastle Disco” by Solange. The song is the second single from Solange’s forthcoming album SoL-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams (Geffen) and the video is said to be directed by Solange herself. That’s what’s up!

While Solange was performing, “I Decided”, a fan decided that he wanted to join her on stage and sing and do the steps with her! But she actually greeted him on stage, danced with him and continued to perform. If that’s not professional and well mannered I don’t know what is. Solange has a good heart. This was mad funny! Solange recently posted a new song on her blog (Hadley Street Journal) called “Fuck The Industry (Signed Sincerely)”. Here’s what she had to say about why she wrote the song:

When I heard Kanye’s “Everything I Am” I instantly fell in love. I felt my story somewhere in his. I felt his frustration yet acceptance of who he was. So I decided to put my own little twist on it:)

She also disclaims on her blog that this song isn’t directed towards anyone specifically. And that she just basically felt like expressing herself and also felt that this song “could relate to everybody”. My favorite line is, “I’m not apologetic, if you don’t like it it’s probably because you don’t get it.” Woo, go Soloooo, I’ve been rockin with you since “Sky Away” and can’t wait for the album!

This past Sunday (June 22nd), I had the opportunity to attend the “Art of Love” tour featuring Chrisette Michele and Raheem DeVaughn live from inside Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason center. The show started around 8PM and opened with Solange, she did about 3 or 4 songs from her forthcoming album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. Her performance was very Supreme era with a lot of attitude, “I feel good, I look good, but I broke my Goddamn toe!” exclaimed the soulful singer. If I had not already known about Solange breaking her toe (prior to that remark) I probably would have been shocked; she held her composer extremely well. I cannot remember but two songs I think I liked; they were “I Decided,” which was a song written by Pharrell Williams and Solange herself, and “T.O.N.Y.” an acronymic song Solange said meant “The Other Night Y”. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to meet Solange or interview her, but overall my experience with the show was fun! Also, Chrisette did an amazing job and was simply beautiful. Meanwhile, Raheem, by the way congrats on the BET J Award, commanded the stage! He had a painter in the background, Raheem was on the floor singing and crawling, running around the building — it was a performance. Raheem will really give your money’s worth. People recently caught up with Beyonce’s little sister Solange, and asked her about her sister’s wedding and what she thinks about Beyonce when it comes to taking care of Juelz, Solange’s son. According to Solange, big sister had to call on little sister a few times. Hey, we all have to learn from someone! Right?

And Music World Music does it again! I swear, that management team has some crazy ideas when it comes to marketing their talent. Most people do radio promos, interviews, and commercials, among other things. But no, not Mathew Knowles and the rest of his crew. They decided to leak a song Beyonce’s been working on because they knew that shit will spread like the bird flu in the Middle East. Had they leaked a song from Kelly, Michelle, or Solange … it probably wouldn’t have even seen the light of day. Sad … but true.

FROM Beyonceonline.com: Yesterday, “Beautiful Nightmare,” a demo I’ve been working on for possible inclusion on my next album, leaked on some websites. I want to thank all my fans for the positive response to the song, but I want to tell you that this is just a work in progress. It is not my time to put out new music.
