Jamie Foxx // 2009 BET Awards (Show)

Here Jamie Foxx can be seen paying tribute to Michael Jackson (comedically, of course) as the host of the 2009 BET Awards, which aired live from Los Angeles Sunday night (Jun 28) on BET. Jamie Foxx is probably one of the few people who can make light of a sad situation and have everyone laughing and crying at the same time. The BET Awards was supposed to dedicate the entire show to Michael, per the press release sent out Friday, but failed to impress.

The show itself was pretty good, but they should have never mentioned dedicating the show to MIchael if they didn’t have the time to do it right. That said, we really hope they put together an entire special to honor the late King of Pop so they can at least try to save face. But for now, continue reading for photos of Soulja Boy, Jay-Z, Monica, Beyonce, Ne-Yo and many more celebrities who participated in this year’s BET Awards.

Lil Wayne: “I personally can’t believe it. But it’s more unfortunate for the world of music. … My love goes out to his family. … A sad day in history, not [just] music.”

Snoop Dogg: “I feel like his music will never die and his spirit will never die, because he influenced so many if us. He gave us a lot of hope that we feel like we can be big. Snoop Dogg and his wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Vegas

Despite the fact that being immortalized in wax is a pretty big honor, we’re almost sure Snoop Dogg was a tad creeped out when he saw a life-sized wax model of himself Monday at the unveiling of his new wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, NV. The rapper posed for photos with the figure, which has his look down to a T with the cornrows, the gear and his famous stance. They even have the wax figure throwing up gang sings with a crip flag in its black pocket! Continue reading for a couple more pics.

Snoop Dogg is going to become the first living rapper ever to be immortalized in wax for Madame Tussauds famous wax museum. He’ll be the third rapper on display at the museum in Los Angeles, and his figure will be unveiled sometime Monday, April 20th. The figure will stand in the “On Stage” area and he’ll be the third rap icon on display, joining the likes of the late Tupac Shakur. The statue reportedly will be worth $300,000 and he’ll be rocking his trademark cornrows.

“Fa shizzle dizzle I said yes when asked,” the rapper tells PEOPLE. “I’m honored! The D O double G got a double. It’s real to be immortalized [in wax] in the ranks with President Barack Obama,” he said.

Amy Winehouse Snoop Dogg

New reports are suggesting that singer Amy Winehouse and rapper Snoop Dogg sketched out a couple of tracks together back in 2008! But we hear they couldn’t finish them because they took way too many breaks to smoke weed and were way too high to finish what they got started…

A source tells Britain’s The Sun, “Amy came to the studio buzzing with ideas and the pair got on really well, even though Snoop turned up in his dressing gown with slippers on, which had Amy giggling. They were working at a frenetic pace at first but as the day wore on and more smoke breaks took place, the work rate slackened. By the time their studio time ended they had a pair of tracks sketched out but no finished product.”

Since Amy is in all this legal trouble (Google her, baby!), getting her hands on a visa to come back to the states to finish up the tracks will be damn near impossible. And isn’t Snoop banned from the UK or something like that?

Snoop Dogg & (wife) Shante Broadus // 2009 Grammy Awards Red Carpet A confusing and equally disturbing report on popular entertainment website TMZ Friday suggested that Shante Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s wife of over 10 years, was dead and her body was in the basement. We didn’t believe it for a minute. And fortunately, the “rumor” (can we really call it that?) is NOT true in any way, shape, form or fashion. His people reached out to TMZ and released the following statement, saying that the rumors were “totally ridiculous and most of all hurtful to Snoop Dogg and his family.”

“Of course, the CHP rumors are absolutely not true, totally ridiculous, and most of all hurtful to Snoop Dogg and his family. Snoop, Shante and their family are all alive and well – we appreciate the fans concerns for their safety. Anything said or reported on regarding the death of Shante Broadus is totally false.”

People are sick these days…
