According to reports, Shyne was deported to his home country of Belize today after serving almost nine years in jail in connection with a shooting at a New York night club back in 1999. His father, who just so happens to be the Prime Minister of the country, has enlisted Harvard Law Professor and Obama insider Charles Ogletree to get NY Gov. David Patterson to pardon Shyne so that he can return to the U.S.

According to a press release from Major League Baseball, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys‘ performance has been rescheduled to take place in tomorrow’s (Thurs. Oct 29) pre-game ceremonies, which will air on FOX at 7:30 PM ET. Tonight’s inclement weather was the cause for the postponing of the performance. Officials say the staging for the show could “adversely impact the field if it is wet, creating damaged and unsafe playing conditions.”

Destiny’s Child alum Michelle Williams wants her fans to know that she is alright, following a minor car accident she was in earlier this week. The singer accidentally clipped the side of a bus Tuesday morning (Oct 27) while she was driving in her hometown of Chicago. No injuries were reported following the accident. She writes on her Twitter page:

“I hit a bus and have 2 (sic) get my side mirror fixed.”

Usher‘s ex wife Tameka Foster claims she found out she and Ush were getting a divorce on the internet. Tameka, who has 2 kids by Usher (23-month-old Usher Raymond V and 10-month-old Naviyd), says she heard the news through gossip blogs after pictures of Usher and another woman started popping up everywhere. Foster tells People magazine:

“It was rumoured (on the internet), so friends and family called, saying, ‘Are you OK?’ I didn’t really understand why. But Usher and I weren’t really speaking then (because of the reports of his infidelity). He was away recording, and I was angry at other things going on. He filed two days later.”

She’s also pretty delusional and doesn’t think that Usher’s new “Papers” song is about her.

“It’s entertainment. People shouldn’t take it literally,” she said. “(But) given what we’re going through, it’s in poor taste.”

But through it all, Tameka says she still loves her ex husband Usher and always will.

“I still love him very much and I’m sure I always will. Do I want to be with him? I don’t know.”

During an off-air conversationn, Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez and recently sprung rapper Shyne discussed his deportation situation.

Shyne was born in Belize, and raised in New York where he was later signed to Bad Boy Entertainment as a rapper. But he is now being held in custody by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after serving his prison sentence as the result of a New York club shooting back in 1999. Shyne served nine years of his ten year sentence after pleading guilty to assault in the case.

Rumors about whether the rapper would be deported hit the streets fast. Shyne has been in a federal facility for weeks now in Buffalo, New York, awaiting his fate, and Hot 97′s Miss Info states on her site in a blog that Shyne feels he will be deported soon, and at this time, he is still trying to get a pardon from the governor of New York so that he can stay in the country. It still remains uncertain of his fate to this day.

Michael Gilhooly of the immigration department states, “We would never discuss any individual or group of individuals, if we had a deportation operation under way for security reasons.” Gilhooly confirmed that Shyne is being held in custody for violation of an immigration law, but he would not identify which law was broken. According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Web site, a child born outside the country to a parent of American citizenship can become a citizen, but the circumstances around the law vary depending on birthday.

So unless the New York State Government pardons Shyne, he’ll be heading back to Belize, and he will appeal his deportation from there.

In but so many words, rapper Shyne, who is fresh off of a 10 year prison sentence, told his former mentor Diddy, “F**k you!!” Shyne told Rolling Stone that Diddy turned his back on him during their 1999 trial by hiring lazy lawyers to help defend him. Diddy escaped a guilty verdict, while Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison. And the former Bad Boy recording artist says he was shocked when he heard Diddy on the radio talking about how he had spoken with him and reporting that he was in “good spirits.”

Diddy’s publicist had no comment on Shyne’s legal woes Tuesday, but the mogul recently told Hot 97 that he spoke with Shyne in prison.

“He sounded like he was in good spirits,” Diddy said. “I know he can’t wait to get home. I know he is definitely going to heat the whole scene up. He was definitely one of the talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with.”

Shyne says he never spoke with Diddy, nor does he intend to unless Diddy changes his act.

“I want it known that this supposed conversation is a figment of Sean Combs’ imagination,” he says in a statement. “He never spoke with me, he never visited me nor would I ever accept a phone call or visit from him. The only way I would do either of those things would be if he stepped up and did the right thing for the victims of the incident.”

Shyne’s father, Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow, reportedly wrote to NY Governor David Patterson and asked him to pardon his son (born Jamal Barrow) so that he is not deported from the country and forced to return to Belize. Shyne, who is currently in the custody of U.S. Customs, was sprung from prison Tuesday after serving 8 years behind bars. Shyne was born in Belize but grew up in Brooklyn with his mother. His father wants to make sure he’s able to remain the U.S. to continue his rap career.

After spending over 8 years in prison, former Bad Boy recording artist Shyne will be released from prison this October. A Manhattan judge officially signed the court order that will spring the rapper from jail Tuesday (Aug 4). Upon his release, Shyne will receive two-and-a-half years of post-release supervision.

An attorney for Shyne — born Jamal Barrow but now going by Moses Levi after converting to Judaism while in prison — said that the order marked one of the last remaining hurdles in the way of his client’s release from prison in October.

“He’s about 90 percent of the way home now,” attorney Oscar Michelin told MTV News following the hearing.

The district attorney’s office had recommended Shyne receive the maximum amount of five years of post-release supervision (essentially probation), due to the violent nature of his crime. In June of 2001, Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison — the most serious charge he was found guilty of was first-degree assault, after a patron in the club was shot in the face following a melee that started between a group of clubgoers and Diddy’s entourage, which included his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and Shyne. Shyne brandished a gun and fired shots into the air to break up the argument.

The December 1999 shooting resulted in charges being brought against both Shyne and Diddy, with both of them going to trial. The high-profile incident produced plenty of headlines, from Diddy’s red-light running, high-speed exit with Lopez following the shooting to an alleged bribery plot. Shyne was a rising talent at the time, with his husky baritone reminding many in the music industry of legendary Bad Boy Records artist Notorious B.I.G. Diddy signed the youngster and was set on molding him into hip-hop’s next superstar before their relationship crumbled after the trial, in which Diddy was acquitted on all counts.

In court, Michelin presented a memo he prepared in Shyne’s defense, which was a combination of previous law examples that were similar to his client’s case, talk of the rapper’s good behavior and testimony from scholars and business executives who support the Brooklyn native’s release.

“I’m grateful,” a calm Shyne told the judge.

The rapper was hoping to be re-sentenced as a way to avoid post-release supervision, telling the judge that the supervision equates to “extra jail time.” It was a strategy he and his lawyer proposed but the judge quickly dismissed, citing a recent court of appeals decision that changed the nature of assigned post-release supervision in New York. As a result of the ruling, a number of previous dependents in cases, including Shyne, have been issued extra supervision following their jail sentences. The judge acknowledged the rules were not in effect when Shyne was initially sentenced, but cases all over the state are now being reexamined as a result of the ruling.

In April, Shyne appeared in court for a parole hearing, hoping to be released early after serving eight years in prison — but the rapper was denied any lenience. Now the rapper has a mandatory release scheduled for October 6 of this year. The date will mark eight years and seven months served; he began his sentence in April of 2001, when he was 22 years old.

Shyne will serve the rest of his sentence at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, New York.
