Katy Perry took to the stage Sunday night (Feb 12) at the Grammy Awards and performed her hit single “E.T.” and also debuted her new song “Part of Me,” marking the Pop singer’s first televised performance since her high profile marriage fell apart.

The lyrics to “Part of Me” has many thinking that the song is a not so subtle dig at Perry’s estranged husband Russell Brand.

“Days like this I want to drive away…You chewed me up, and spit me out, like I was poison in your mouth…But that was then, and this is now. Now look at me, this is the part of me that you’re never ever going to take away from me,” Katy sings in the song.

The lyrics to the song continues, “Now look at me, I’m sparking/A firework, a dancing flame/You won’t ever put me out again. So you can keep the diamond ring. It don’t mean nothing anyway/In fact you can keep everything/Except for me.”

“Part of Me,” which was officially released on iTunes today, comes from the special edition of Katy Perry’s double-platinum certified album “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.”

Now that Russell Brand and Katy Perry are officially getting a divorce, “friends” of the couple are coming out of the woodwork and have juicy stories to share with the tabloids.

Like how Russell hurt Katy’s feeling when he told her that her recent hosting stint on Saturday Night Live “wasn’t that funny.” (Ouch!)

And not only that, but he also quickly turned down a request from Katy to appear with her on the show and didn’t even fly to New York to watch her.

“There were so many times when he wasn’t there,” an insider says of Brand, 36, who blindsided Perry, 27, by filing for divorce Dec. 30 without consulting her.

Weeks before, when the “Firework” singer guest-hosted Saturday Night Live, the British comic turned down Perry’s plea to perform in a skit with him, remaining in L.A. instead. And after Perry had pulled off her SNL stint?

And when the Arthur star did show up to support his wife, as he did at Perry’s final concert stop in November, “He was totally uninterested and seemed annoyed he was there,” says a witness. “I don’t think he sat through one song.”

Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry, his wife of a little over one year. In the documents (obtained by TMZ), Brand cites “irreconcilable differences.”

The reason all of this isn’t a total shocker is because sources close to the couple recently revealed that they were having problems, and spent Christmas on two totally different sides of the world.

Katy spent her Christmas in Hawaii with “friends” and family, while Russell spent his Holiday in London with his own “friends” and family.

Russell was also spotted out in London without his wedding ring both today AND yesterday.

Earlier today, TMZ, citing “multiple sources,” had reported that the couple had no plans to divorce, however, they were told that the newlyweds were having problems, but it had nothing to do with reports of a “big, blowout argument” because apparently, no such argument ever occurred.

But it looks like things have changed, and Russell is said to have totally blindsided Katy by filing the divorce petition.

He released the following statement just moments ago:

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

Earlier this month, Brand had appeared on “Ellen” and spoke on the divorce rumors that were surrounding him and his wife at the time:

“I’m really happily married … I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive.”

Sounds like someone had a change of heart.

And another one bites the dust…

Katy spent her Christmas in Hawaii with friends and family, while Russell spent his all the way on the other side of the world in London with his own friends and family.

Perry was spotted in the ocean in Hawaii on Christmas Day, but her husband, or even her wedding ring for that matter, were nowhere in sight.

Granted, the singer could have taken the ring off to protect it from getting swept away at sea, but still … the question remains.

Why would you spend a family-oriented holiday like Christmas without your significant other … on purpose?

According to an inside source, the huge distance was due to a very heated argument the couple had just before Christmas that ended in an explosive exchange of “f**k yous.”

“They had a massive fight,” the insider said.. “She was like, ‘F**k you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f**k you too.”

“They haven’t split up just yet, but things are not good. The fighting is getting worse. Katy doesn’t think Russell respects her parents’ Christian beliefs or her friends. The split may come soon, but they are both so dramatic and volatile, the relationship could become great again,” the anonymous source explained.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see where it goes from here!

After an amazing season that included the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Emma Stone, and Jason Segel…..this week’s episode (hosted by Jimmy Fallon) was not only one of the funniest but it also included some serious cameos.

Fallon is known for his uncanny interpretations of celebrities and he lived up to his reputation, spoofing Justin Bieber, Russell Brand, Sting, and more.

Russell Brand used to be one dark and disturbing creature.

The comedian/rocker revealed in Neil Strauss‘ upcoming novel “Everyone Loves You When You’re Dead”…that he was at one point obsessed with dead animals and would even throw them into the crowd at concerts.

“I was fixated with dead animals and death. The driving ideology behind what I was doing was pretty safe, right? And I felt that people were spellbound, like they’d been hypnotized, and I had to wake them up. So I would do things to wake them up. Like I’d have a load of dead rats or dead chicks, like baby birds, on stage. And I’d smash them up with a hammer and then throw them into the audience and go, ‘Why are you disgusted? I’ve just rearranged their atoms.  They’re dead already.  Nothing’s happened. You’re being shocked by nothing.’”

Brand also went into detail on his past drug addiction and how having money for the first time in his life played a big role in it.

“I was addicted to crack and heroin at that time and was…I’ve always had some destructive tendencies and I was unstable.  I had no off switch.  I was unable to manage it.  Up until then I’d never had money in my life and as soon as people gave me money, I just hit the f**k it button and blew up.” Strauss told Radar Online.

Thank goodness Katy Perry was able to tame this fire-breathing dragon….

Chris Brown is headed to “Saturday Night Live!”

The “Deuces” singer will hit the stage, while British comedian/actor Russell Brand will host the show February 12th. During their stop, Chris will more than likely perform a few tracks off his upcoming F.A.M.E. album, and Brand will be promoting two of his upcoming films “Hop” and “Arthur.”

This will be both Breezy and Russell’s first time ever on SNL.

According to People, Katy Perry and Russell Brand have tied the knot!

The couple exchanged vows Saturday night in a traditional Hindu ceremony at a luxury resort in India. Pop singer Rihanna and her boyfriend Matt Kemp were among the 85 guests, including other close friends and family, invited to the wedding, however Rihanna and Matt didn’t get to make it due to a scheduling conflict.

Perry and Brand first met last year on the set of a movie and later hooked up at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. A few months later, they were engaged, and now, nearly a year later, they’re officially husband and wife.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are set to get married next Saturday (Oct 23), and we hear they’re going for a traditional Indian wedding theme, insiders say. The Pop singer and her fiance have reportedly rented luxury tents in the Rajasthan exotic desert resort of “Aman-i-Khas,” where they (along with their guests) will be staying for the 6-day event. All 80+ guests (including Katy’s BFF Rihanna) will be flown out via private jet.

According to Celebrity-Gossip.net, prior to the ceremony, Katy will have her hands decorated with henna tattoos before she heads to the Jaipur for the wedding. An insider said:

“The procession will start at the gate of the hotel, with the bridegroom sitting on a beautifully decorated horse that is escorted by camels and elephants. Folk dancers then welcome the couple with a traditional routine, fireworks and a special buggi (horse-driven cart) ushering them into the main garden for the wedding.”

Russell Brand proposed to Katy Perry in India during a trip over New Year’s last winter after the couple had only been dating for a few months. They first met in 2008 on the set of Russell’s film “Get Him to the Greek” (Katy made a cameo in the movie that got cut), but didn’t start dating until they saw each other again a year later at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which Brand hosted.

So it was love at SECOND sight! (LOL)

Katy Perry made light of her recently being axed from an upcoming episode of Sesame Street by joking about it with her fiance Russell Brand on Twitter.

Katy had filmed a segment with Elmo for the children’s show to be aired on New Year’s Eve, however when the clip leaked online and was posted to YouTube, it ended up receiving a ton of negative comments & complaints from parents who didn’t feel like their young children should be getting an up close and personal view of Katy Perry’s breasts.

Bosses for Sesame Street decided it’d be best to cut the segment from the show after the negative press it received, and upon hearing the news, Katy tweeted:

“Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short! If you still wanna play see it at www.katyperry.com Tag you’re it, Elmo!”

The pop star’s fiance Russell Brand later chimed in and shared his own opinion on his future wife being nixed from Sesame Street:

“@katyperry today’s Sesame Street will NOT be brought to you by the number 34 or the letter D. @katyperry Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sex-with-me Street?”

Age ain’t nothin…but a number!

In a recent interview with the U.K.’s Guardian, Pop singer Katy Perry talked about how despite there being an age gap between her and fiance Russell Brand…they’re still a match made in heaven! He even makes her feel smarter…

“He’s one of the smartest men I’ve met. I feel smarter just standing next to him. He knows that I’m young and have friends and a social life, and he was attracted to me. Not, ‘Oh let’s find a version of myself in a female.’ Every once in a while I need to remind him of that, and he listens.”

She also gave a word of advice to all those women out there who think taming there men is the key to a perfect relationship. (Sorry ladies)

“It’s not about taming, because that won’t last. Everyone gets saggy t–s. Not everything stays perfect. We all start to slow down. I think he was ready for change. I mean, you just don’t have the stamina to be in bed with 80 different women a week when you’re 35 and trying to do good work.”

Actor/comedian Russell Brand was involved in a car accident in New York on Friday as he left the set of his new film “Arthur.” Brand was a passenger in a $238,440 on-loan Lamborghini when a truck slammed into the car. The crash caused more than $9,500 worth of damage and witnesses say that Brand was trapped in the passenger side and had to climb out of the driver’s door. A source near the scene of the accident said:

“The whole incident was pretty terrifying. Russell was very shaken. He refused to go to A&E despite severe bruising and cuts. He’s gutted as he had just taken loan of the car. It was pretty terrifying. This massive truck came out of nowhere and ploughed straight into Russell’s side of the car. The driver of the car ran around to the passenger door but it wouldn’t open. Russell had to climb over and escape through the driver’s door. He looked very shaken but he kept his sunglasses on.”

Russell Brand, who is currently engaged to singer Katy Perry, suffered cuts and some bruising, and his mother has since flown out to visit him.

Katy Perry wants you to know that she has no problems what-so-ever with Lady Gaga.

The Pop singer caused a stir last week shortly after Lady Gaga’s new “Alejandro” music video premiered when she tweeted: “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.” And though Perry, the daughter of church ministers, never mentioned Gaga’s name, the timing of her tweet and the fact that she didn’t respond to the assumptions pretty much confirmed that she was talking about the “Alejandro” video.

But now, Katy is speaking about her comment on Twitter and insists that even though she disagrees with her use of religious imagery (rosary beads, the latex nun outfit, etc.) she respect’s Lady Gaga’s point of view:

“Lately, I’ve just been seeing some things that are kind of… not something I would do, I guess. Like, you know, when Madonna was on the cross (on her most recent world tour).”

The “California Gurls” singer also name dropped her soon-to-be husband Russell Brand and Pop queen Madonna spoke out against people who say she’s being a hypocrite (Her debut single was about kissing a girl and liking it):

“(People say) I’m a very hypocritical person, ‘How do you say that and (sing), I Kissed a Girl? Spirituality and sexuality are two separate things. When you decide to put it into the same subject, it gets interesting for some people. Everyone knows… I’ve said 100 times on my Twitter: ‘I’m one of the biggest Lady GaGa and Madonna and Russell Brand fans.’ Some people have different view points.”

It was a family affair last night (Tues. May 25) as hip-hop mogul/actor Sean “Diddy” Combs brought his 3 sons Justin (16), Christian (12) and Quincy (18) to walk with him on the red carpet of the premiere of his new movie “Get Him to the Greek” at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Diddy also brought along his mom Janice Combs.

In “Get Him to the Greek,” Diddy stars alongside actors Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, who walked the red carpet of last night’s premiere with his fiancee singer Katy Perry. The film is due to hit theaters next Friday (Jun 4).

Looks like Russell Brand might have some competition. Word on the sidewalk is that Katy Perry has a crush on Sesame Street character Elmo! The “I Kissed A Girl” singer, who is currently engaged to comedian Russell Brand, tweeted about her time on the show and how she might be falling for Elmo.

“Sunny day today! I think I’m in love … Sorry (Russell)!!!” she wrote on Twitter, posting a photo of her with her arm around the muppet. Other than that, Perry couldn’t be more in love with Brand, pals tell PEOPLE, dismissing British tabloid reports that Brand is tiring of commitment.

“They’re very busy but very much together and in love and supportive of each other’s careers,” a friend tells PEOPLE, adding that Brand, 34, has inspired Perry’s forthcoming CD. “Because of her relationship with Russell and how in love they are, she’s making the best music of her career.”
