A large number of celebrities took part in helping BET raise money for Haiti relief Friday night (Feb 5) at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, FL during the BET SOS Saving Ourselves – Help for Haiti benefit concert, which was hosted by Queen Latifah, Diddy and Pharrell Williams. Artists like Chris Brown, Monica, Ludacris, Justin Bieber, Nas and Haiti’s own Wyclef Jean took to the stage and performed while folks like Common, Spike Lee, Trey Songz, Mike Tyson and more manned the telephone lines.

It seems as if everyone is jumping on Nicki Minaj’s bandwagon these days! According to MTV News, Jay-Z was so impressed with the Young Money rapper that he went out of his way to recommend her for Robin Thicke’s new single “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy.”

“It was Jay’s idea,” Thicke said of the “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy” collabo. “We were in the studio and I played him the whole album. He was like, ‘You should get Nicki Minaj on that. She’s got that voice. She’s got that swag.’ So I leaned over and was like, ‘Somebody get Nicki Minaj on the phone! Jay-Z said so!’ Next thing you know, we called Nicki. She was excited. But once we told her it was Jay-Z’s idea to get her on the track, she started screaming on the phone. She was all excited. She’s a super, super talent. I can’t wait to do a video with Nicki. There’s a power in her. It’s not just that she’s sexy and that’s the only way she can get you to like her. She’s got charm — not just sex. Some women may use sex to get what they want; others have charm. She’s got charm.”

Wow, we must admit that Nicki Minaj is most definitely doing her thing now. Like her labelmate Drake, she hasn’t even released an official album yet and she’s already the hottest female rapper in the game right now!

In keeping with an American tradition, folks like Keri Hilson, Justin Bieber and Robin Thicke took to the stage at the Aria Resort & Casino at the City Center Thursday night (Dec 31) in Las Vegas and performed during Dick Clark’s Annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebration. Pop singer Jennifer Lopez performed her set for the event in New York City’s Times Square.

The Black Eyed Peas, undoubtedly one of the biggest musical acts of the year 2009, also performed at the show (in Vegas), which aired live on ABC and was hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark from Times Square, New York City.

Soul singer Robin Thicke and his beautiful wife, actress Paula Patton, revealed they will be having a baby boy! We reported back in October of this year that Paula and Patton were expecting.

Paula stars in in the recently released award winning movie “Precious” and Robin has just released his 4th album Sex Therapy. Thicke admits his wife and highschool sweetheart is the inspiration behind his new album. The two first-time parents are taking some time to gather their thoughts on parenthood and working out the last few jitters regarding Paula’s pregnancy. Robin is afraid of not being patient enough, but most of the time he is scared or worried about the future.

“I want to work on that. But my biggest fear is being able to be there, because I don’t know if kids ever think if their parents were there enough.”

The couple are expecting their baby boy in May of 2010.

R&B singer/songwriter Robin Thicke hung out with the likes of Jay-Z, Usher and Nicki Minaj Monday evening (Dec 14) at New York City’s Butter restaurant as he celebrated the release of his fourth studio album Sex Therapy, which hit stores the next day.
