Who knew a simple kids toy could incite life-threatening violence?

Huff Post Crime is reporting that 35-year-old Efrain Burgos-Delgado pulled a gun on a 16-year-old boy in order to steal his remote control car. The puzzling incident took place in Kissimmee, Florida on Saturday evening (Apr 13).

If that’s not enough, after the perp stole the car, he came back and robbed the boy of his cell phone.

So why on earth did this man go to such great lengths to steal something that he could have bought for $19.99 – $39.99 ($59.49 if you want to be fancy) on Amazon? Authorities say Delgado quickly sold the toy in order to buy drugs.

So if you thought you couldn’t buy cocaine with a used kids toy, you were mistaken.

Of course he probably sold the car and used the money to score a fix, but it’s funny to think of a man paying for illegal substances with a toy.

Unfortunately for Mr. Delgado, there’s nothing funny about the charges he’s facing, which includes armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, petty theft and resisting without violence.

Three masked gunmen allegedly tried to hold up a Chinese restaurant in Orlando, Florida earlier this week. But according to police, their plans were foiled due to a simple language barrier, which makes these guys possibly the dumbest robbers in the entire world.

When the trio of dumb robbers entered the New China eatery in Orlando Monday night (Nov 5) demanding that the three employees working inside hand over the money from the cash register, the restaurant workers — who apparently only speak Cantonese — had trouble understanding their demands. Or at least that’s what they made it seem like.

After their demands were met with nothing but confusion, one of the masked men allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it in the direction of one of the employes, as one of his his frustrated accomplices pounded on the register with his gun to try and force the workers to understand what they were trying to do, but to absolutely no avail.

Police say the gun accidentally went off, and the would-be robbers fled the restaurant empty-handed, but were later detained and questioned.

We don’t know if we should consider those fools to be the world’s dumbest robbers … or if the restaurant workers should be viewed as the world’s smartest robbery victims.

Meanwhile, there was another robbery at another Chinese restaurant in the area recently in which a woman was shot and killed.

In that case, a single gunman walked into a China Wok and shot the 53-year-old employee because she didn’t speak English and didn’t understand his demands … just like in the case of the New China restaurant.

No one was injured in the New China incident, and no arrests have been made yet. Police say the incidents, though eerily similar, are not related.

There are plenty of professions where falling asleep on the job would be a no-no … like surgeons, barbers, firemen, toll booth workers, prison guards, factory workers, pilots, and yes, even robbers/burglars.

Too bad this guy didn’t get the memo.

According to reports from The Oregonian, 20-year-old Christian Villarreal-Castillo was arrested and charged with burglary and theft in Rockcreek, Oregon after he was caught sleeping on the kitchen floor of the home he was in the middle of robbing.

Deputies were called to the residence, 18700 block of NW Shadow Lane, concerning a reported burglary around 4:48 a.m. The resident reported that there was an unknown man sleeping on his kitchen floor.

Upon arrival, the deputies found the residence had been ransacked in an apparent attempt to steal valuables. Deputies believe Villarreal-Castillo entered the residence through an unlocked door but fell asleep while he was gathering items.

When the man was taken into custody, deputies found other possibly stolen items on his person, including a portable GPS and other electronics.

Deputies also reportedly connected Christian with a previous burglary that was committed just a few hours before he was arrested and hauled off to the Washington County Jail.

Villarreal-Castillo was charged with two counts of burglary, attempted theft, trespassing and criminal mischief. His bail was set at $100,000 and there are more charges pending.

Out of pure desperation, a car full of armed bank robbers leading police on a high-speed chase through downtown Los Angeles started throwing stolen money out the window, drawing a large crowd of people trying to get some quick cash.

According to NBC4 Los Angeles, the pursuit began Wednesday morning (Sep 12) at around 10 a.m. following a Bank of America Robbery, and ended about an hour and a half later in South L.A.

As they were being chased by police, the bank robbers randomly tossed handfuls of cash out of the backseat window of their getaway car — a black Volvo SUV — which drew crowds into the streets.

During the pursuit, onlookers were reportedly waving to the bank robbers, signaling them to throw more money. At one point, the crowd was so thick that the robbers had to slow down and navigate around them, which obviously ruined their plans of actually evading the police.

The 90-minute chase finally came to an end when the SUV was forced to stop because of traffic, and at the end of the pursuit, a large crowd of people swarmed the SUV, creating a dangerous mob that authorities had to work quickly to control as they tried to make arrests.

LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith said, “One of the folks told me that they thought that there was more money inside of the vehicle, and maybe they were hoping to get a little bit of that.”

One woman was seen jumping into the vehicle, though it isn’t clear whether she retrieved anything.

Witnesses at the scene compared the bank robbers to “Robin Hood” and thanked them for being so generous to the hood.

“I’m just so glad this person came to throw this money in the ‘hood, basically. You usually see robbers and they take their stuff and they leave. But this guy came over and tried to help us out. You know, it’s a big depression nowadays,” a 23-year-old woman told NBCLA. “So It’s more like all of us are supporting the robbers and the cops. He’s doing something I never though a robber would ever do.”

“Kind of like a Robin Hood situation, rob from the rich, give to the poor. Everybody’s out to kind of get some of the money,” another grateful member of the hood said.

“It’s our neighborhood stimulus package!” one resident told the L.A.A Times.

But Capt. Mike Parker of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department doesn’t believe the robbers were being intentionally generous, and had no prior plans to make it rain in the streets of the hood.

“They were robbing a bank to steal and keep that money… I can’t imagine they did this for the good of the community,” he said, adding, “If they thought that by throwing money out the window that that would distract us or have people get in the way and block us, they’re going to run out of money … We’re not going to run out of sheriff’s deputies and we’re not going to run out of helicopters.”

Sgt. Parker is also urging the people who scooped the stolen money off the street to return it to police, as it could possibly be marked. (Let’s be real here, NO ONE of those people are gonna turn ANY of that money in!)

At least two injuries have been reported from the pursuit, including an LAPD officer whose foot was run over, and someone who said they were hit by a police car.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department estimates that there were four or five suspects — armed with at least one handgun — involved in the bank robbery earlier that day.

In addition to the two suspects that were arrested at the end of the car chase, one person of interest has been detained, and police are still looking for two other suspects who were seen jumping out of the car.

Pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans — who eulogized Whitney Houston at her New Jersey funeral back in February — was reportedly robbed and car-jacked Wednesday afternoon (May 16) at a Citgo gas station on the west side of Detroit.

Pastor Winans says he felt something was wrong when he came out of the gas station’s convenience store and he noticed several men following him.

He says as he was pumping gas, at least two of them men ambushed him, and took his purple Infiniti SUV, a couple hundred dollars in cash, and his watch. In addition to robbing him, the men punched him and even ripped off his pants.

“I’m just saddened that it has come to this,” Pastor Winans said, adding that he was not seriously injured.

He continued, “This kind of nonsense just has to stop … It’s just the savageness of what’s happening in the streets. We just have to take a look at ourselves and say this has to stop.”

Following the incident, Pastor Winans suffered minor injuries to his hand, which was bandaged as he spoke to local ABC news affiliate WXYZ in an interview later that night.

Of his injuries, Winans said, “Given the gravity of the situation, it was minor.”

Winans said he was disturbed that something like this could happen “in the middle of the afternoon,” and at first, “nobody came to help.”

Pastor Winans, who leads the 4,500-member Perfecting Church on Detroit’s east side, believes his attackers didn’t recognize him, “and if they did, it didn’t make much difference,” he said.

In a message to his carjackers — who still haven’t been identified — Pastor Winans said, “Your life has to be bigger than sitting in a gas station and robbing innocent people.”

Police in Coral Springs, FL say they arrested a man who allegedly took a young woman out to lunch at Applebee’s while his friend robbed her home.

According to police, 18-year-old Anthony Maldanado met Kelly Galbraith at a party. Using the alias “Florenciano Valentino,” the young man asked his new lady friend out on a date after telling her that he had just moved to Florida from New York a couple of months ago.

Throughout the date the following week, Valentino reportedly used the girl’s cell phone to talk to his accomplice, who was robbing Galbraith blind as they spoke.

And to top it all off … he left her to pay the bill, and also stole her phone!

When the girl returned home from the “lunch date,” she found her home broken into, and several high-value electronic items missing (about $5,000 worth). She called police right away.

Among the items taken included a flat screen TV, an iPad and a macbook.

Anthony Maldanado (or “Florenciano Valentino,” as he likes to call himself) was later arrested on charges of burglary and grand theft. He bonded out of Miami-Dade County Jail for $4,500.

So he not only robbed this girl … but he also skipped out on the bill?

What a cheap date! The bill was probably only 20 bucks, especially with the 2 for 20 deal going on.

If you ask us, the girl was probably in on it, trying to get a little insurance check or something if you know what we mean… Because she can’t be that naive, can she?

Michael Jackson was recently arrested for pickpocketing at a Moscow subway station.

A 50 year-old Canadian man (who goes by the same name as the late pop star) was caught by cops stealing a wallet from a woman’s purse.

“Standing on the platform, the man stole a wallet from the purse of one of the passengers. Police officers witnessed the crime – they arrested the thief red-handed.”

Jackson was taken to the fifth police department for further investigation. The Investigative Committee of the Interior Affairs Department of the Moscow Metro filed a criminal case against the Canadian national in accordance with Part 2, Article 158 of the Penal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The police are currently investigating the Canadian’s involvement in other similar crimes.

When dressing up as a woman and attempting to rob a McDonald’s turns out to be fatal:

A man who was dressed as a woman when he tried to rob a West Palm Beach McDonald’s on Friday night died after he was shot by a Homeland Security officer, police said.

Investigators said the man tried to rob a McDonald’s at 2400 Okeechobee Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, but was confronted by the officer.

Police said the officer fought off the robber and shot him in the leg. The man was taken in critical condition to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The incident was under investigation, police said.

A Brodheadsville man accused of robbing a local pharmacy of painkillers made the job easier for police by leaving behind his birth certificate.

Stroud Area Regional Police say Keith A. Rebori, 23, robbed the East Stroudsburg CVS of painkillers on Thanksgiving Day.

A man entered the CVS and handed the pharmacist a bag and threatening note demanding all of the Oxycodone, Oxycontin and Xanax, police said. The pharmacist gave him 798 Oxycodone tablets, after which the man left.

Police later searched the area, finding a hooded sweatshirt, a backpack and the note used in the robbery. They also reviewed the surveillance video, which showed a man in the pharmacy earlier that day, wearing the same hooded sweatshirt and carrying the same backpack, police said.

Police said the backpack contained Rebori’s birth certificate. He was arrested, placed in Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail and will appear in district court at a future date.

There’s one thing to commit crimes … but to be ignorant in the process is a big no-no!

That is why 23-year-old Keith Rebori gets the honor of being the “Doofus of the Day!”

Maybe he wasn’t looking, maybe he didn’t notice … or maybe he just didn’t give a damn, but a 21-year-old man tried to rob a convenience store in Georgia while an armed police officer in full uniform stood right behind him in line!

According to reports, Stephen Daniel, who obviously is a little “slow,” walked up to the counter, demanding that the cashier give him all the money in the register.

The whole thing was caught on tape, and in the surveillance video footage, you can hear Stephen yelling expletives at the cashier (who was also the store manager) as they go back-and-forth.

Daniel: “Yo. Give me all the money in the (expletive) register. Right now! Give me all the money in the (expletive) register.”

Cashier: “Why?”

Daniel: “Because I said so.”

The manager, who could clearly see the uniformed officer standing directly behind the would-be robber, started laughing as he adhered to the dumb robber’s absurd request.

“The manager was laughing at the time he was putting the money in the bag because he was looking at me over the guy who was robbing him,” Lt. B.W. Brown said. “I know what was going on, but he’s not dumb enough to do this with me standing right behind him.”

But Stephen Daniel was, in fact, dumb enough to try and rob a store with a uniformed cop present. And as soon as he turned around, he finally noticed the officer and was immediately arrested while everyone in the store looked on in amusement.

“I’m standing right behind him. I got a hold of him by the shoulder and placed him under arrest for robbery. It was a comedy type thing,” Lt. Brown said, adding, “In 34 years, I have never had one happen the way this one did.”

What an idiot!

The guy was later charged with “robbery by fear.”

New York City police are searching for a suspect in an anti-gay sex assault and robbery in Brooklyn.

Police say the 24-year-old victim was approached by a man who pretended to have a gun on Myrtle Avenue on Sept. 5. The suspect robbed his cell phone and asked about his sexual orientation.

Police say the suspect berated the victim with anti-gay slurs– and then sexually assaulted him.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Julius Wright, also known as “Stinky.”

An elderly bank robber is on the run after making off with a bagful of cash at a Wells Fargo in Colorado and threatening to infect a teller with AIDS.

Cops said the thief was a pale, bony white woman wearing a train conductor’s cap and a gray Bass Pro Shops hoodie.

She walked into a Wells Fargo branch inside a Safeway in Longmont, Colo., at around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday and shoved a note in the teller’s face announcing the stick up.

“She indicated she had AIDS and would give it to the teller if she didn’t cooperate,” Longmont Police spokesman Jeff Satur said.

The crooked codger was working hard to sell her story – she kept coughing into a blue bandana throughout the heist, cops said.

The terrified teller handed over a bag of cash – cops didn’t say how much – and the robber walked out without flashing a weapon.

Authorities released surveillance photos from inside the bank and were reviewing footage from outside the building.

Cops said the woman was between 55 and 75, around 5-feet-6 and 130 or 140 pounds.
