Among the many celebs who walked the white carpet outside the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas were Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo.

All types of celebrities littered the orange carpet of the 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Saturday night (Apr 2).

Some of the celebs who posed for pics on the KCA orange carpet before heading into the Galen Center were Willow & Jaden Smith, Kim & Kourtney Kardashian (and their younger sisters Kendall Jenner & Kylie Jenner), TeenNick chairman Nick Cannon, actresses/singers Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, rapper Snoop Dogg (and his family).

The live show, hosted by actor/comedian Jack Black, also featured performances from the Black Eyed Peas, Willow Smith and Big Time Rush (f/ Snoop Dogg).

After weeks of auditioning and deliberations Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson narrowed down the idol contestants to 24 on Thursday (Feb 24). But the sigh of relief didn’t happen for one person.

7-time auditioner Jessica Cunningham gave Team Idol the middle finger after being cut on her 25th birthday.

Getting cut on my birthday is evil, Cunningham said in her exit interview. “[The judges] ruined my birthday. You know what I have to say to that?” she said, before launching into a double middle finger salute. “I love ya, but come on!”

Guess she won’t be watching the show anytime soon!

Multi-award winner Barbra Streisand was honored over the weekend (Fri. Feb 11) as the MusiCares Person of the Year in Los Angeles. Celebs who hit the stage at the L.A. Convention Center to pay tribute to the star included Stevie Wonder, Leona Lewis, Seal, Lea Michele, Faith Hill and more.

The four AI personalities, dubbed “The New Team Idol,” reveal that the show will be much different now that Simon Cowell has left the building.

“It’s aged the show down a bit,” deadpans Seacrest of Cowell’s absence, while Jackson laughs. “There are less clouds of smoke. We start earlier. There’s less — what is that English dish he always ordered for lunch? Shepherd’s pie? He loves shephrerd’s pie.”

“No, it’s the blood pudding,” jokes Jackson, before he turns serious. “Look, it’s definitely been interesting. We definitely miss [Simon], but it’s a different kind of vibe. It’s a different kind of energy now. And I think in season 10 the show actually really needed it….It’s not about replacing him or any of the others: Paula, Ellen, Kara, anybody else. People have been saying to us, ‘Who’s mean?’ We’ve all traded off on that because I think you have to always give people the truth, no matter what.”

“We’re more of a collaborative judging group,” adds Lopez. “We’re always leaning over to each other and saying, ‘Oh my God, I think she’s good.’ ‘Oof, I don’t get it.’ ‘You don’t like it?’ I mean, not in a way where it becomes disrespectful to [the contestant’s] moment, but we discuss things. We just have a totally different style than any of the past judging tables.”

And what has Tyler made of all the talent he’s seen auditioning for the show? “It’s just astounding,” he says. “We throw the drift net out and look what comes up? Gold. [I’m] crying, honestly, from someone who hit the notes so sweetly and beautifully, not just that it’s the end of the day and thank God this motherf—er is the last one. Not that.”

“See?” smiles Seacrest. “It’s going to be an all-new show.”

The music video for “We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” debuted Friday night (Feb 12) during the opening ceremony for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

This version of the song, featuring vocals from Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Janet Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, T-Pain, Usher, Wyclef Jean and much more, is much more contemporary than the original but it fits today’s music era. The song’s original writer and singer Michael Jackson also appears in the song and video (his sister Janet sings the first chorus with footage of Mike thrown in). They also kept one of MJ’s original parts and show footage of him singing it (Nice!).

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

We told you guys yesterday about radio shock jock Howard Stern being the top prospect to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol. And until now, Stern has said very little about the numerous reports saying that he was being pursued by Fox to replace Simon.

Monday morning (Feb 8), the King of Radio went on his hit XM/Sirius radio show, The Howard Stern Show, and talked about the Idol chatter for literally 2 hours plus making a complete joke of the whole situation and the show itself by calling it a “karaoke contest.” He also attacked Idol judges Randy Jackson and Ellen Degeneres, and said that the show’s host Ryan Seacrest would quit if he took over Idol. Simply hilarious in our opinion.

Based on how Howard Stern joked on the situation, we doubt that he has any plans of taking over this show, but who knows! For all we know this could be a publicity stunt between him and Fox. And even though Howard made a joke of the rumors, he never flat out denied that he had been approached by the producers of Idol nor did mention that he declined any offers.

We will keep you posted as more details unfold. Until then, read on for some of what Stern said on the show.

“I’ll do that for $100 million.” Stern said. “For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? Ok. Why not? It might be possible. We’ll see,” added Stern. “Name a person who could bring more excitement to that show than me. If I was the judge on ‘American Idol,’ looks would play into the judging, too,” Stern said.  I would be honest with them. I would say, ‘Look at you. You’re out of shape, go work out.’ It would be sort of like ‘The Biggest Loser’ and ‘American Idol’ combined. And believe me, I’ll find some Kelly Clarksons out there,” Stern continued. “First of all, I would have straightened out that Adam Lambert, number one. That’s why his career tanked — the kid had more publicity than anyone  and he f—ed up. And Number 2, I wouldn’t even put through that good looking kid who won, that Kris Allen. He never would have even been through.”

“Carrie Underwood — I would’ve told her to lose weight. I remember she was chubby, and look at her — she looked great on the Super Bowl. And Fantasia Barrino…I like you, but you gotta clean up your act.”

“I’m gonna buy one of those taser guns; I’m gonna tase Ellen DeGeneres,” Stern joked. ” ‘Go ahead Ellen, why don’t you do that dumb dance you do on your show? Here’s my taser.’ Can you imagine me sitting there with like a little ping-pong paddle, and I smack Randy Jackson’s belly every time he opens his dopey mouth?” Stern continued.

When a listener asked Stern if consider keeping his radio show while judging “American Idol,” the host responded, “Hell, no…I’m just gonna do what Oprah pulled on Sirius XM. I’m gonna ask Sirius for $50 million not to show up and i’ll just record a phone conversation with [co-host] Robin [Quivers] once a week.”

Over 83 million people tuned in last Friday night (Jan 22) to catch the Hope for Haiti Now telethon, which aired live and commercial-free on several major networks and was also streamed real-time online. The effort was spearheaded by MTV Networks, actor George Clooney and rapper/singer Wyclef Jean (who is from Haiti himself) in an effort to raise awareness and relief for the troubled country of Haiti, who suffered a massive earthquake earlier this month. According to recent numbers, over $61 million in pledges were made by members of the general public. Organizers will continue to take contributions for the next six months.

Celebrities who helped out by either performing or taking phone calls from pledges (or both) included Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono from U2, Taylor Swift, Denzel Washington, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and tons more. In New York’s Times Square, Yahoo transformed an iconic military recruiting station into a multi-story recording studio, where crowds lined up for a chance to record their interpretation of the Yahoo yodel while their image was projected on a nearby jumbotron alongside a towering Yahoo billboard.

American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell hosted the event, while recording artists Jewel, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Jackson and Pete Wentz were on hand, and a house band played from a stage set up over the entrance to the Hard Rock Cafe Restaurant.

For their background music, yodelers can choose their own genre, like rock, bluegrass, hip-hop or funk, or they can select an original background musical track from a list of options provided by Yahoo.

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew contestants had to imitate, as well as implement their own, dance moves from Michael Jackson‘s Thriller album in honor of the Thriller 25th anniversary edition that is in stores now. Status Quo had ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, JabbaWockeeZ had ‘P.Y.T.’, Kaba Modern had ‘Thriller’, Fysh n Chicks had ‘Billie Jean’ and BreakSk8 had ‘Beat It’. Everyone danced well and executed this challenge phenomenally. My personal favs were Fysh n Chicks for their well choreographed dance sequence and creativeness and BreakSk8 for their coordination and perseverance. But let’s keep it real now, NO BODY can be like Mike, I often cringed at the judges for making such blaspheme comments such as ‘you gotta do it better than Mike!’

I digress, I guess. But if anything I thought BreakSk8 represented Mike the most, being from Indiana themselves, not to mention they danced on skates! God bless ‘em … It was sad to see Fysh n Chicks go, but I suppose it was their time, I hate to admit it, but I strongly agreed with Little Mother here: about how the ‘Love interest’, or lead girl in the pink, was portrayed too masculine for such a feminine role. Over all this week’s episode was exemplary, MJ would be ever so proud, ever so. I’m quite curious how contestants will do on next week’s show, though. Since they’ll be “out of their comfort zone” portraying Broadway, and all. Sounds stellar.

Okay, so my current favourite TV show is America’s Best Dance Crew with Randy Jackson on MTV. One thing I don’t get is Little Mother, why is she there? I mean … I know Shane has been B2K’s choreographer for awhile and JC has choreograph with N*SYNC but … ? I digress. Anyway, I haven’t really been into the show until just recently, my home team Live In Color got the boot y’all! I think LIC did a pretty good job tbh, they were totally out of their element with this weeks challenge, so I do believe they deserved another freakin’ week! Guh! Now I’m rolling with the Asians cos they be killin’ it, and I’m anxious to see what they come up with next dance challenge, they’ll have to make up their own choreography to Michael Jackson‘s Thriller! This will be very interesting!
