DJ Khaled has teamed up with an all-star line-up of rappers, including Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Rick Ross and Plies for his new “Welcome to the Hood” music video. The clip, directed by Gil Green, also includes cameos from Bow Wow, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes and more! The track is currently on sale @ iTunes and will be featured on DJ Khaled’s upcoming album on YMCMB We the Best Forever.

Earlier today we posted a pic of some of the rappers mentioned on the set of the video (CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT). And now we have some behind the scenes video footage to share.

R&B singer Bobby V. (formerly known as Bobby Valentino) calls on his friend, rapper Plies, to help him pick up girls and get their 10 digits (because 7 digits is so 1999) in his new music video for “Phone #.”

The Plies-featured track is the lead single from Bobby V.’s upcoming 4th studio album Fly on the Wall, due in stores October 12th and the accompanying video was directed by Fat Katz. Check it out below:

The 15th Annual Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash went down in a major way last weekend in Atlanta, GA at the Philips Arena. This year’s Birthday Bash featured performances from recording artists Monica, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Plies, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and many more.

There was also a lot of backstage action going on and we managed to grab pics of folks like Trina, Ciara (who came out during Luda’s set and performed “Ride”), Lance Gross, Shawty Lo, Waka Flocka Flame, and more hanging out between sets. Plies is promoting his latest album Goon Affiliated, in stores now, and the homie FreddyO recently caught up with the rapper in Atlanta at DTLR as he hosted an autograph signing and meet & greet for his ATL fans.

The Florida emcee recently expressed interest in working with “Britain’s Got Talent” singer Susan Boyle, and mentioned that he was dead a** serious:

US MAGAZINE: Are there artists you are inspired by and maybe want to work with in the future?

Plies: I always bring this up to people and they think I’m just teasin’‚ but Susan Boyle is probably at the top of my list. A lot of people look at that as a far-fetched feature or collaboration. From a business standpoint, I watched what she was able to do and create through her own story and it always interested me.

Rapper Young Jeezy questions his sanity in his brand new music video for “Lose My Mind,” featuring fellow rapper Plies. In the new clip, Jeezy parties hard at the club while battling paranoia and seeing dark, ghostly images of himself in a leather straitjacket in the bathroom.

“Lose My Mind” is the first offering from Jeezy’s forthcoming fifth studio album Thug Motivation 103, which is due to hit stores sometime this year. In the meantime, peep Jeezy and Plies’ new video below!

Take a listen to “So Cold,” a new song from Chris Brown. Brown confirmed via his Twitter page that the track, produced by Polow Da Don and co-written by Ester Dean and Teyana Taylor, will indeed be featured on his upcoming third studio album, Graffiti. He just hopes his album doesn’t leak:

Rapper Plies is set to drop his fourth studio album soon, but in the meantime peep his brand new music video for “Becky,” the debut single from the new album, titled Goon Affiliated.

It’s crazy how this dude has already dropped three albums in such a short amount of time and he’s already planning on coming out with a fourth! His first album came out in the summer of 2007, his second was released in the summer of 2008 and his third LP was released 6 months later in December 2008.

COMMON & T-PAIN GIVE EACH OTHER DAP ON THE RED CARPET AT THE 2008 BET HIP-HOP AWARDS

AIRDATE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23RD 2008 ON BET @ 8 PM EST. The 2008 BET HIp-Hop Awards went down in Atlanta over the weekend, and here you can check out the photos from the red carpet. If you haven’t heard yet, Katt Williams was nixed from his hosting duties, and T-Pain filled in for the comedian at the last minute. BET made up some bogus story talking about how Katt bet T-Pain he couldn’t beat him in a break dance battle, and how Katt’s hosting duties were up for grabs to whoever won. It later came to light that Williams had been arrested on the morning of the show. Sound familiar, anyone? *Cough* T.I. *cough* got arrested *cough* last year *cough* and he was *cough* supposed to perform. I’m just saying…

Here is the video premiere of Maino‘s remix video of his latest single, “Hi Hater”, featuring T.I., Plies, Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss and Fabolous. The incredibly sexy Mya is also cameo’d in this video looking so good! Check this video out!

So it looks like Rick Ross isn’t the only Miami Rapper to be caught lying about his past. Hip Hop DX claims that although Plies proclaims himself a “goon affiliated, ex-drug dealer” and raps about a criminal past, his records show that he had never been in trouble with the law until after his records were made.

HipHopDX has obtained documentation from the state of Florida that lists the “definition of real” rapper’s first real run-in with the law to have not taken place until two years ago, on April 12, 2006, when Plies – real name Algernod Lanier Washington, born May 22, 1976 – would have been on the eve of his 30th birthday and just beginning his ascension to his current status of gold-certified rap star.

The 32-year-old was arrested for the first time at the age of 29 on April 12, 2006 for the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

But there are the occasional past tense references to what appear to be claims of his own criminal activity. One glaring example can be found during his lament on the suffering his alleged criminal activities caused his mother on “Runnin My Momma Crazy,” in which he recollects: “Remember the nights, me sittin’ up in a cold cell/I’m wakin’ ya up out’cha sleep, it’s me callin’ you from jail.” While passionate, his verse’s claim that he was ever in a “cold cell” now appears to be untruthful, as according to the FDLE’s report Plies was never in jail for any period of time prior to 2006.

To be honost, I just don’t understand why rappers feel the need to lie about their past. Is there like some unwritten rule that says you must have gone to jail, been shot, or sold drugs in order to sell albums? What do you guys think?

Above is the T2W premiere of Plies’ latest music video – “Somebody Loves You.” The Florida-based rapper recently announced a non-profit organization appropriately titled “Sombebody Loves You.” The organization’s first project is a $10,000 scholarship program that will be presented to two students (one male, one female), who will receive $5,000 a piece. The students must attend, or plan to attend, an accredited college or university, in addition to having a parent, or parents, who is presently incarcerated in prison, and the students must have financial need. Apparently I missed this video that was released a couple of weeks ago. It’s Plies‘ latest music video featuring Trey Songz, and it’s titled I’m Da Man. If you haven’t taken a listen to Plies’ latest album, “The Definition of Real,” make sure you pick it up today, because it’s in stores now!

MTV did a special on all of the new music of this month for a weekend. Many artists showed up to talk about their new and upcoming albums. Chris Brown, The Game, Plies, Ne-Yo, Solange, Lil’ Wayne and Ashanti appeared on TRL during this week. Ashanti performed her latest single, “The Way That I Love You”. Plies also performed his single, “Bust It Baby (Pt. 2)” featuring Ne-Yo. Check out Ashanti’s performance above. Plies’s performance after the cut.

Plies is recording with a lot of top R&B artists and I like that idea. It actually appeals people to his music more. Plies has been deep in this R&B game for awhile too. You think he’ll pull a T-Pain and become a “rapper turnt sanga”. I don’t think so…but I definitely like this new track, “#1 Fan” featuring Keyshia Cole & J. Holiday. This track will be on Plies upcoming album, Definiton Of Real (Atlantic/Slip-N-Slide). In Stores June 10th!

She definitely adds her own flavor to the track and I loved the song before, but now I love it even more!
