Anika Noni Rose and her on-screen love interest Bruno Campos walked the red carpet of the premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’ “The Princess and the Frog” at Disney Studios Sunday (Nov 15) in Burbank, California. Anika plays the princess and Bruno plays the frog, who later turns into her Prince Charming.

The movie will be released to a limited number of theaters in New York and Los Angeles next Wednesday (Nov 25) and everywhere else on December 11th.

Other celebrities at the premiere were Ne-Yo, Terrence Howard, Jenifer Lewis, Blair Underwood and Erica Hubbard.

“We were just told that they go for ‘The Wait Is Ova’  as next single and that it will launch in a few weeks before the album release. It means a lot to us to be a part of a single-release in this format. … Our song is pretty a typical Rihanna and has a much harder sound than ‘Russian Roulette.’”

It also seems like Rihanna is starting the promo train already! She has been added to the performance line up for the 2009 American Music Awards on November 22nd, a day before her album release. The paparazzi spotted R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo outside of his hotel Monday afternoon (Sep 14) in New York City.

Ne-Yo is currently in the middle of shooting a film and its production schedule prohibits him from being able to travel to Mobile, AL to perform for the 15th Annual BayFest Music Festival next month, so Ludacris will be filling him for him. T-Pain, Akon, Anita Baker and lots more are scheduled to perform at the concert, which is set to be held Octber 2nd – 4th in the streets of Downtown Mobile, Alabama.

Rapper Kanye West offered Joe Jackson a sip from his bottle of Henny before last night’s VMAs. The bottle apparently made its way around the audience because Pete Wentz was also spotted drinking straight from the community bottle. Looks like Kanye and Amber were trying to get everybody a little loose!

Kid Cudi and Wale performed as a part of the official house band during commercial breaks/intermissions.

Lady Gaga accepted her award for “Best New Artist” from a shocked Eminem. We would love to know what he was thinking when he saw her in that outfit!

R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo felt a little under the weather when he took the stage Thursday night (Jul 16) in Manchester, U.K. And out of frustration for not being able to complete the show, the “Miss Independent” singer broke down in tears roughly an hour into the gig.

“I’ve never completed a show … I’ve never done this before,” he said as he wiped away his tears. “I want to say … I want to thank y’all for bearing with me as long as y’all did, I appreciate that.”

Apparently he was sick from the jump and decided to go on stage anyway. But after an hour of performing, he just couldn’t take it anymore and apologized to his fans, who gave him a mixed reaction of cheering/applause and boos.

“Trust me when I say I will be back,” he said before leaving the arena. “I will be back. I love y’all.”

R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo performed live on stage Tuesday night (Jul 7) in Cork, Ireland at Marquee.

It was recently announced that he, Lil Wayne and Jeremih, along with special guests Drake and Soulja Boy, will team up for an extensive North American tour this summer. The “Young Money” tour, set to kick off later this month, will touch down in cities like Pittsburgh, Toronto (Canada), Washington D.C., Phoenix and Los Angeles before concluding near the end of August.

Here Jamie Foxx can be seen paying tribute to Michael Jackson (comedically, of course) as the host of the 2009 BET Awards, which aired live from Los Angeles Sunday night (Jun 28) on BET. Jamie Foxx is probably one of the few people who can make light of a sad situation and have everyone laughing and crying at the same time. The BET Awards was supposed to dedicate the entire show to Michael, per the press release sent out Friday, but failed to impress.

The show itself was pretty good, but they should have never mentioned dedicating the show to MIchael if they didn’t have the time to do it right. That said, we really hope they put together an entire special to honor the late King of Pop so they can at least try to save face. Jackson is heading back into the studio to record new songs ahead of his live dates – and he’s calling on the music heavyweights to make a killer tune for release this summer (09). Ne-Yo, who has worked with both Chris Brown and Rihanna in the past, recently spoke with MTV News and gave them his take on the crazy Chris Brown/Rihanna situation. R&B singers Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson, along with Gospel singing group Mary Mary and musical producing legend Jimmy Jam all attended Grammy Career Day 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. In preparation for this weekend’s Grammy Awards, the event was held at the University of Southern California campus and also featured appearances from Jesse McCartney and and music producing duo Stargate. All of the celebrities made up one big panel who spoke to students at USC.

A cheering audience of music career aspirants greeted panelists for the day’s first event: a Super Panel comprised of current Grammy nominee Ne-Yo, McCartney, Hilson, EMI Music Publishing president/West Coast Creative Big Jon Platt and The Recording Academy chairman/producer Jimmy Jam. Moderated by Recording Academy West regional director Lizzy Moore, the hour-long session touched on various subjects from songwriting and production to publishing. On the subject of songwriting, McCartney advised fledgling songwriters that “when you try to fit a certain genre or mold, you fail. Write what you know. That’s your template.” Cautioning that “your spot in this business is not etched in stone,” Ne-Yo recommended that students finish school and follow the “3 P’s” in their career endeavors: passion, persistence and patience. “It doesn’t matter how much money you make if you can’t count it,” he emphasized. “It’s also difficult to write a song if you can’t read or write. Being prepared and following the 3 P’s will get you where you’re trying to go.”

It looks like someone pissed Ne-Yo off for the last time. He’s not taking this sh*t anymore! In a recent interview, he mentioned how surreal his success is and how he lives next door to Young Jeezy. After he was quoted as saying he saw the Atlanta rapper walking around his house naked, the gay rumors starting spewing from all directions. Well, Ne-Yo just wants everyone to know that he’s had enough (via MySpace):

One rule of being a gentleman is to keep your cool and composure at all cost, but right about now I gotta loosen up this tie and take off this expensive suit jacket and talk to the people for a minute. The haters especially. Pardon my french, but what the f**k is wrong with y’all!?! Are you so desperate for an R&B bad guy that you gotta find a way to create one in me?? Okay, the comment about light skinned babies…….an obvious joke, maybe not a good joke, but clearly a joke. Y’all REALLY took that serious!?! I understand that a hater’s job is to hate, clearly. But it’s when people start feeding in to what a hater is saying that something must be addressed.

The whole gay thing. For goodness sake it’s been 4 years!!!! Y’all still on that huh? The whole “boys” song, and the song “go over there”. See this is what happens when people steal. These songs were clearly written for women. Had you been patient, you would have heard them the way they were supposed to be heard, with the voice of the intended artist on em’. But noooo, someone gets a hold of these demos and suddenly everybody forgets that I write songs for women. Riiight.

R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo dropped by M. Agnes Jones Elementary School in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia to present band director Arthur McClenton and his students a $30,000 check for brand new instruments, courtsey of VH1’s Save the Music Foundation and an anonymous donor.

“Music is not what I do, it’s who I am,” Ne-Yo said. “If you cut off off my arm right now a song would probably fall out…And I know it may be cliche, but these kids are our future. And we are going to have some very smart, but very boring, very bland kids if we don’t keep programs like these in the schools.”

Why did it take me so long to figure out that the “Single,” by New Kids on the Block is 100% identical to the same “Single” from Ne-Yo’s latest album, Year of the Gentleman. I remember Kennesha premiering the video at the beginning of September, but by the time I had heard Ne-Yo’s album, I had almost forgotten about it. But I’d always think to myself and wonder if I’d heard the song every time I listened to Ne-Yo’s version.

Our favorite celebrity here at GOT, rapper Young Berg, is initiating a “net-beef” via World Star Hip Hop with singer/songwriter Ne-Yo. Personally, I find the sh*t funny! You mean to tell me a dude gets his goons to jump your ass, steal your chain, flaunt the sh*t on the internet and make you look more of a fool than you’ve already made yourself look over your short little career’s timespan, and you don’t say sh*t?! Another rapper, someone who JUST got on the map mind you, slaps the horse sh*t out of you in a club, and you don’t say sh*t?! But Ne-Yo says something, and doesn’t put his hands on you unlike the other guys, and you fight back with this video? Wow, someone has their priorities in order…

I’m glad little Christian picked this battle though, because had he even thought about retaliating against Trick Trick or Maino, I don’t even think we here at GOT would have liked the outcome.
