Anyone who has seen “The Hangover” movie knows it takes a brave soul (and roofies, of course) to intrude on Mike Tyson while he’s sleeping without him catching you.

Well … some brave soul actually did it in real life just a few days ago.

According to TMZ:

Mike was staying at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Saturday night — where he and his fam crashed after attending Stevie Wonder’s New Year’s Eve concert.

We’re told Tyson was sleeping like a baby … when all of a sudden, he awoke to rustling sounds and saw a flashlight. But by the time Iron Mike realized what was happening, the intruder had already run out of the room.

According to sources, security at the hotel was called and they are currently investigating the situation. Nothing was reported stolen from the room.

A rep for the hotel tells TMZ, “We have received a report of an incident that is currently under investigation. As always, guest safety is of the utmost importance.”

Thank goodness Iron Mike didn’t wake up in time … or else that dude would have been a late-night snack for the big guy!

Recently appearing on CBS’s “The Talk”, LaToya Jackson revealed some disturbing details about her ex-husband and manager, Jack Gordon.

She openly recalled an incident where Gordon, who died in 2005, offered her to Mike Tyson for sex for the sum of $100,000.

“Mike Tyson later told my mother and father and some other friends that he Gordon had told him that if he wanted to sleep with me he has to pay $100,000” the 55 year old recalled.

She continued “I was 29 and one of those over the top religious people. I was mentally 16 because of not knowing the world and what people do, not everyone was honest and I believed everything they said. I was in brothels and everything. He put me (it was) everything I was against. He made me do Playboy twice and had me sit on the stage and say ‘Oh no, it was all my idea…And I had to do that because I knew what he said he would do, he would do it”.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson recently renewed his wedding vows with wife Lakiha Spicer in Las Vegas.

The pair, who originally wed 2 years ago after the death of Tyson’s 2-year-old daughter Exodus, decided to prank their guests and invite them to a fake joint birthday celebration at the M Resort in Las Vegas this past Saturday (Jun 25). To up the ante, Tyson even tweeted about the bogus party: “My wife & I are getting ready to host friends & family tonight. Many we haven’t seen in years. It’s going to be a great night.”

After all of the guests were gathered, the prankster couple vanished only to arrive later suited & booted in their wedding outfits.

The couple then proceeded to renew their wedding vows in a traditional Muslim ceremony, followed by guests partying late into the night in the hotel’s ballroom with a live band.

It is being reported that the reason the couple decided to renew their wedding vows this soon and have a big “wedding” party was to make up for their original wedding, which was a small intimate affair.

Tyson and Spicer are parents to a 2-year-old daughter (Milan) and a 6-month-old son (Morocco Elijah). Tyson has also fathered five other children with other women.

We all know Iron Mike Tyson knows how to dance around in the ring, but how well can he dance on the stage?

The tattoo artist who “blessed”  boxing great Mike Tyson with his distinctive facial tattoo has sued Warner Bros. over the similar-looking facial art on Ed Helms‘ character in the upcoming flick  The Hangover: Part II.

S. Victor Whitmill, an award-winning tattoo artist who calls his  Tyson design “one of the most distinctive tattoos in the nation,” is seeking an injunction to stop the release of the highly-anticipated comedy sequel, set to  hit theaters during  Memorial Day weekend.

“When Mr. Whitmill created the Original Tattoo, Mr Tyson agreed that Mr. Whitmill would own the artwork and thus, the copyright in the Original Tattoo,” argues the complaint, filed Thursday in federal court in Missouri

. “Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. — without attempting to contact Mr. Whitmill, obtain his permission, or credit his creation — has copied Mr. Whitmill’s Original Tattoo and placed it on the face of another actor … This unauthorized exploitation of the Original Tattoo constitutes copyright infringement.”

Warners Bros has yet to comment on the suit.

Forreal though? We’re suing over tattoos now? SMH – - only in America.

Mike Tyson has new bundle of joy…...

The former Heavyweight champion along with his wife Lakiha Spicer welcomed a baby boy into the world yesterday. His name is Morocco Elijah Tyson and he weighed in at 8 lbs., 13 oz. Tyson’s rep confirmed the news to PEOPLE magazine….and also stated the couple is overwhelmed with joy.

“He is such a sweet and calm baby. Mike and Kiki are overwhelmed with joy to welcome their son to the Tyson family,” the rep stated

This makes baby #2 for the couple, who wed in June 2009.

Mike Tyson spoke on stage and announced his new TV show “Taking on Tyson” during a panel at the Animal Planet portion of the 2011 Winter TCA Press Tour, held Thursday (Jan 6) at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, CA. Mike was also spotted at the Oprah Winfrey Network’s 2011 TCA Winter Press Tour Cocktail Party at the hotel.

The former heavyweight championship boxer says his new TV show will center around his love of …. “pigeons?”

“There will be some things about me,” Tyson said about his upcoming show. “I have a pretty colorful past. But this show is all about the pigeons.”

“Taking On Tyson,” a six episode reality series, is set to premiere on March 6th on Animal Planet.

Lakiha Spicer, whom Tyson married in June 2009 (just two weeks after his 4-year-old daughter’s tragic death) is 5 months pregnant with the former championship boxer’s 8th child, according to Radar Online.

“Lakiha and Mike are expecting a baby boy,” a source close to the ex-heavyweight champ told RadarOnline.com. The child will be Tyson’s first after the shocking death of his four-year-old daughter Exodus, who died in May, 2009 after a tragic accident. The girl suffocated after she either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hanging under a treadmill’s console in her Phoenix home. The fighter, 44, got married 10 days later to Lakiha, 32, in a private ceremony at the La Bella Wedding Chapel at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel.

Last week, Tyson was photographed taking the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Milan, to a film premiere in Las Vegas. During the weekend, he and his pregnant wife were spotted dining with friends at Palms Casino & Resort. In May, the fighter revealed he is living paycheck to paycheck when he was a guest on talk show The View. He said, “I’m totally destitute and broke. But I have an awesome life, I have an awesome wife who cares about me. I’m totally broke. I had a lot of fun. It (going broke) just happened. I don’t deserve to have the wife that I have; I don’t deserve the kids that I have, but I do, and I’m very grateful.”

Tyson was previously married to actress Robin Givens in 1988 and Monica Turner in 1997. His first marriage ended after one year after Givens filed for divorce and said in a nationally televised interview that she was afraid of Tyson. His marriage to Turner lasted five years.

Former Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson may have done a lot in his time…but there’s one thing he will always regret. In a phone interview with AP, Tyson says that he wishes he would have smoked weed with Tupac back in the day.

“He always wanted me to smoke weed with him, and I never did it, and I wish I did. That’s my biggest regret.”

Tyson explained that at the time he didn’t want the media to find out about his smoking habits and thought it would be a bad idea.  He also added that despite Pac living a short-lived life…..he was explosive every second he was alive.

“He didn’t last long, but the time he did last, every minute, every tenth of a moment was explosive.”

Mike and Pac’s friendship was covered in ESPN‘s documentary called “One Night in Vegas: Tyson & Tupac,” which aired Tuesday night (Sep 7).

Thank goodness he’s clean now!

Former Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson recently admitted on an ESPN radio show that the only reason he made a cameo appearance in the 2009 comedy film “The Hangover” was to fund his drug addiction.

“I was doing that to supply my drug habit. I thought this was going to be really good, we’re going to sell this stuff at 42nd St. on bootleg, and we’re going to get a lot of money. This is my best thinking on drugs.”

Well luckily (and unfortunately)…”The Hangover” turned out to be a huge success so he didn’t have to waste any time selling copies on bootleg. But Mike did add that later he realized….it wasn’t the drugs that he was working for…but a way to fix his broken thinking.

“I gave up basically everything. I didn’t have a problem with drugs or nothing, I had a problem with thinking … My thinking was broken. That was the solution to my broken thinking, using drugs and living crazy.”

That damn Mike Tyson…just crazy as hell! Glad he cleaned himself up though…

Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson is looking at the last 44 years of his life in disgust and wants to change his ways.

Tyson, known as Iron Mike in the ring, met success in boxing at a young age. He was just 20 years old when he won the WBC title and went on to become the first boxer to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles simultaneously. But Tyson let his trouble with relationships and scandal murky up his short but legendary career in boxing.

In an interview with Details magazine, Tyson said he squandered his fame and fortune and now he wants to do good for others:

“The first stage of my life was just a whole bunch of selfishness. Just a whole bunch of gifts to myself and people who didn’t necessarily deserve it. Now I’m 44, and I realize that my whole life is just a f**king waste. ‘Greatest man on the planet’? I wasn’t half the man I thought I was. So if there’s a big plan now, it’s just to give – it’s selflessness, caring for the people who deserve it. Because I think I’m a pig. I have this uncanny ability to look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘This is a pig. You are a f**king piece of s**t.’”

Whoa, Mike. You’re going a little hard on yourself. America doesn’t hate you that much, but whatever it takes to change and get better, we guess.

Retired boxer Mike Tyson revealed in a recent interview that he is “totally broke” and these days he’s living pay check to pay check (like most of us) to get the bills paid. Now, one would think that being in a situation like that after making mega millions as a boxer would have a guy ready to end it all… but not ol’ Mikey!

The former champ confessed that after years of excessive spending and living pay cheque to pay cheque to cover his monthly expenses he is now ‘destitute’. The sporting star’s life has been marred by a series of alcohol and drug-related arrests over the years and his wild lifestyle away from the ring led to him filing for bankruptcy in 2003. He has since turned his life around but insists he is still struggling to make ends meet.

Appearing on US talk show The View, Tyson revealed: “I’m totally destitute and broke. But I have an awesome life, I have an awesome wife who cares about me. I’m totally broke. I had a lot of fun. It (going broke) just happened. I’m very grateful. I don’t deserve to have the wife that I have; I don’t deserve the kids that I have, but I do, and I’m very grateful.”

Heard about Mike Tyson‘s recent altercation at LAX in which he punched a photographer? Well the good folks over at TMZ have released some video footage of the altercation:

Mike Tyson threatened to kill the paparazzo he allegedly assaulted at LAX back in November — and now the tape has finally surfaced … but, it’s heavily edited. In the vid, Iron Mike is stoic as he walks through the airport with his wife and their child. Six minutes into the video … as the pap follows him toward the bathroom, Mike snaps, “You can’t come through here. Put that away brother, I will kill you!” After that, Tyson charges at the camera … and the tape stops.

But here’s the mystery. The video — which TMZ obtained from an outside agency — was shot by a photographer who made at least 7 edits before handing it over. Did he incite Tyson? Did he touch the baby’s stroller, as Tyson claims? We don’t know. The L.A. City Attorney rejected the case against both Tyson and the photog last week — citing “insufficient evidence.”

If dude provoked Mike that’s just foul. But regardless you can’t just go around threatening to kill folk either. Tyson’s lucky though because The L.A. City Attorney rejected the entire case on New Year’s Eve (Thurs. Dec 31) due to “insufficient evidence.” They dropped the charges against the photog as well.

A paparazzo thought it’d be a good idea to antagonize ex-heavyweight championship boxer Mike Tyson at a ticket counter at Los Angeles’ LAX airport Wednesday (Nov 11). So he went through with his little plan and he ended up lying on his back on the floor bleeding. And then he and Mike BOTH got arrested.

TMZ has learned Mike Tyson has been arrested at LAX airport for battery after a bloody confrontation with a paparazzo outside the United terminal. We’re told Tyson punched the pap in the face and there is blood everywhere. We’re told Tyson was at a ticket counter at the United Airlines terminal when the incident occurred. The photographer got punched in the face, hit the ground, got up and began walking, leaving a trail of blood. An LAPD spokesperson said the photographer suffered a minor laceration to the forehead.

Someone at the scene tells TMZ … the photographer got very close to Tyson before the boxer struck him. Our says there’s blood on the ground and Mike was taken away in a squad car. We’re told an ambulance was dispatched at 4:39 PM to LAX and the paparazzo was transported to a local hospital.

Cops say Tyson and the photographer performed citizen’s arrests on each other — both are expected to be booked for misdemeanor battery. Cops also said witnesses backed both stories … so that could get interesting. If Tyson is prosecuted, given that he’s a former boxing champ, the charge could end up being assault with a deadly weapon.

It probably sounded like a good idea in the beginning, but we’re sure  the thought of “oh sh*t I don’t think I shouldn’t have done this!” came across the photographer’s mind as Mike delivered that blow to the face.

According to his rep Tammy Brook, Mike was traveling with his wife and his 10-month-old daughter when he was allegedly attacked by the photographer. And when he sonned the reckless photogographer he was only acting out in self-defense to protect his family. He was booked for misdemeanor battery and was shortly released on his own recognizance after he posted $20,000 bail.

This incident comes just 15 days shy of the 6 month anniversary of his daughter’s death. She was accidentally strangled by a treadmill cord back in May of this year.

Retired championship boxer Mike Tyson was a special guest on Monday’s (Oct 12) episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” But this wasn’t the same Mike Tyson we knew in the media back in the day. This was a new Mike Tyson, ready to focus on his family and try to change the way the public sees him. He told Oprah he was “tired of failing.”

Tyson opened up about most of his headline-grabbing actions over the years, including his years in prison, his tempestuous eight-month marriage to Robin Givens, his long addiction to drugs, the $400 million fortune he squandered, the 1997 comeback match in which he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear, and — for the first time — the death of his 4-year-old daughter earlier this year.

The key development in Tyson’s life stems from what seems to be a newfound self-awareness following his participation in the movie “Tyson,” a documentary about his life filmed as he went through rehab two years ago. “If I’m not conscious of who I am, I’m just going to let myself run [wild], and I’m going to destroy my beautiful family, and I’m going to destroy myself, and I don’t want to go down that road any more,” he said.

Tyson ranged from terse to surprisingly candid as Winfrey asked the fallen champion about his checkered past, and he delivered eye-opening quotes about Givens and Holyfield while remaining somewhat tightlipped about the specifics of his daughter’s death.

On choosing not to know the details of his daughter’s accidental death: “I don’t know. I don’t want to know. If I know … [then] somebody’s to blame for it, and if somebody’s to blame for it, there are going to be problems.” The quote seems to insinuate that he doesn’t want to be mad at his ex-wife or any of his other children who might be found at fault for the freak accident in which daughter Exodus was found unconscious and tangled in a cord hanging from an exercise machine.

On the “20/20″ interview in which he sat idly while Givens called him manic-depressive and said that life with Tyson was “pure hell” and “torture”: Tyson explained that the marriage was abusive “both ways” — that he battered Givens, but that she abused him emotionally.

On the Holyfield incident: “I was pissed off that he was such a great fighter … I was just mad at him.” Tyson said that after the incident, “I didn’t feel guilty at all,” and that the apology he delivered “wasn’t sincere.”

On why he hasn’t spoken to Holyfield since: “I see him sometimes, I think he’s a little leery of me.” Tyson added, “I just want to apologize. I’ve known him for such a long time, and I was just undisciplined. I was in a very competitive mood and I wanted so desperately to beat him for my own self-aggrandizement, and I was just upset.”

On whether his current family-oriented, monogamous life is boring: “I know I don’t have two more years to live if I live this life.” (By “this life,” he means his former hard-living world of drugs, women, and bankruptcy.)

In all, Tyson was more candid than most athletes are willing to be in today’s professional-sports landscape. But then, Mike Tyson has a lot more baggage to unload, too.

Following his cameo in ‘The Hangover,’ Mike Tyson heads to the small screen for a role in FOX’s new series, “Brothers,” starring Michael Strahan and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell.

“I knew Chill over 25 years ago. I met Mike recently,” the heavyweight champ tells ET, which is first on the set of the new comedy. “I really was beating myself up over my daughter. I was staying in the house, depressed; it was a dark moment in my life. This keeps me functioning as a healthy human being,” Tyson continues. “I am working with dealing with it,” he says. “I have spoken to a lot of people. I have become a member of an exclusive club no one wants to join. I have been told the pain never stops but you get over it. I am going through a process, trying to heal. I am in denial, because I don’t know how to handle it. I don’t know what to do or say. I appreciate everybody who supported me.”

Tyson says that his role on “Brothers” is a “Godsend,” and that if they want him to return, he would be happy to do so.

“Brothers” will premiere on Friday, September 25 at 8 p.m. on FOX. Tyson’s episode will air later in the season. In it, he shows up to collect money from Mike (Strahan) at his brother’s (Mitchell) restaurant.

Just two weeks after suffering the tragic loss of his 4-year-old daughter Exodus, retired boxer Mike Tyson married his longtime girlfriend Lakiha Spicer in a private ceremony at La Bella Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Tyson and Spicer signed the marriage license on June 6th, just 30 minutes before they exchanged their vows in the low-key wedding, which Shawn Absher, owner of the wedding chapel, said was in keeping with a special request from Tyson himself.

“They were very heartwarming, and I think they really do love each other,” Absher said. “He seemed happy -and his life’s been up and down. They just wanted to say the vows and be married … it was very sincere.”

This is Tyson’s third marriage. He was previously married to actress Robin Givens (1988) and Monica Turner (1997), of whom he has two children with.

A Phoenix police spokesman released the sad news that Mike Tyson‘s 4-year-old daughter Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.

“The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time,” the family said in a statement.

The girl’s 7-year-old brother found her on a treadmill in the Phoenix home Monday. She had been strangled by a cord connected to the machine, said Sgt. Andy Hill of the Phoenix Police Department.

“We believe the child was on the treadmill but it was not running at the time. She might have been playing like it was,” Hill said.

Her brother called his mother to the room. She removed Exodus from the machine and called 911.

The girl’s mother performed CPR on her, but she was unconscious and in need of life support by the time authorities arrived, Hill said.

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson on Monday traveled from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Phoenix where his daughter was on life support in critical condition, police said.

“After a thorough investigation, it appears that this is nothing except a horrible tragedy,” Hill told CNN’s Larry King.

Former championship boxer Mike Tyson is in the news again, but this time it’s sad news. His 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is hanging on to her life after getting her neck tangled in a cord from a treadmill in her home in Phoenix, Arizona Monday (May 25). According to police reports, little Exodus was playing on the treadmill at the time of the accident, where her 7-year-old brother found her tangled in the cord and called for his mother.

At the time of the incident, the mother, whose name has not been released, was in a separate room cleaning and upon hearing her 7-year-old son, she immediately called 911 and Exodus was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she remains as of now, in critical condition and on life support.

42-year-old Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time, but has since arrived in Phoenix to be by his daughter’s side.

“The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time,” the boxer’s rep said in a statement.

HOSEA THOMAS CHARGED FOR MURDER OF T.I.’S FRIEND » The man suspected of shooting T.I.’s assistant and childhood friend, Philant Johnson, was found guilty by a jury last week. We discussed T.I.’s testimony a couple of weeks ago. 34-year-old Hosea Thomas was on trial for the shooting death of Philant Johnson and firing at T.I. and his entourage following a May 2006 concert in Cincinatti. In T.I.’s testimony, he told the court that he sincerely believed those bullets were meant for him.

T.I. told jurors that he believes the bullets fired at him and his entourage during a gun battle two years ago were meant for him, but they struck and killed Johnson, his assistant and longtime friend. T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, was not injured in the shooting on Interstate 75. Harris had been at Club Ritz following a post-concert party, and police said his entourage became involved with Thomas in a dispute over access to the club’s VIP area.

T.I. said after his van drove away from the club, he spotted another vehicle moving up from behind in traffic, and then shots rang out and he took cover. The rapper was not asked to identify Thomas as the shooter during his testimony, but prosecutors said Thomas’s brother, Padron Thomas, has identified him as the shooter. Padron Thomas, who was also charged with murder and felonious assault, was driving a Jeep that allegedly chased the vans used May 3, 2006, by T.I. and his entourage. After the verdict, Hosea Thomas’ friends contended that he was not involved in the shooting.

“He wasn’t even involved with them. He was just a friend of theirs and went out to the club with them. It was just like everybody testified, when he got hit upside his head, he was trying to get himself together,” Kimberly Thomas said. “He wasn’t even involved in the fight.”

In addition to the murder charge, Thomas was also convicted of felonious assault and illegal possession of a weapon after a felony conviction. His sentencing will be held December 23rd. And as far as his time behind bars goes, he faces up to a maximum of life in prison, with a 20-year minimum sentence.

KANYE WEST’S COUSIN NOW SUSPECT FOR DEATH OF HIS MOTHER » The investigation of the shocking death of rapper Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West, continues, and now the late Donda West’s nephew is a person of interest in relation to her death.

According to People, Stephan Scoggins, a registered nurse, was watching over his aunt during post-surgery in November 2007. Caring for her alongside Ye’s assisant and a friend, Scoggins reportedly left Donda’s bedside to attend a friend’s babyshower immediately following her operation the day before. She passed away the same evening and investigators are currently pursuing Scoggins to find out how large of a role his absence had on her death. California’s Department of Consumer Affairs is reportedly issuing subpoenas requesting involved persons “to testify in the matter of the investigation of Stephan Scoggins,” according to People.

Despite doctor’s requests that she stay hospitalized after surgery, an autopsy report shows West’s intent to return home. “[Donda] opted to return to her home for care,” it reads. “Even though she was advised that she receive post-operative care at another facility.” If Scoggins is held responsible for West’s passing, he could lose his nursing license.

MIKE TYSON GETS TICKET ON THANKSGIVING DAY » Your boy Mike Tyson got into a little trouble with the law the morning of Thanksgiving Day after he rammed his SUV into the visiting gate of a private community in Las Vegas. According to a local ABC affiliate, Tyson pulled his black Cadillac Escalade up to the southern part of Valley at Monarch Estates at around 7:45 A.M. Thursday morning.

“He went to the visitor’s gate, but instead of driving through the gate when it opened, he veered off and hit the closed resident’s gate,” the tv reporter said. “Tyson reportedly backed up and ripped the gate down. Metro was called, and Tyson got a ticket.”

After the police were called to investigate the scene, the former championship boxer was given a breathalyzer test, which he passed. He was eventually allowed into the community after he was given a ticket for the incident.

No further charges were filed since he’ll most likely pay for the damages to the gate and his car. You can do sh*t like that when you’re rich!

JAMIE FOXX TO PORTRAY MIKE TYSON IN NEW MOVIE » Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson has chosen actor/comedian Jamie Foxx to portray him in a new movie based on the former boxer’s life story.

“Jamie Foxx and I will be working together,” Tyson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “He will play me in the film about my life. We already talked about it several times.”

Tyson, who has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past, claims his biopic will serve as a warning to the youth.

“Even when I was training for a fight, there were no drugs, but I would drink,” he said. “I had never been clean and sober my whole life. This is the first time. I’m tired of losing. I lost the trust of my family, my five kids. I didn’t like that way of life and decided to change. I saw the devil and didn”t want that.”

If writing for this biopic actually happens, the movie won’t begin filming until 2009 or 2010.

BOBBY BROWN TO MENTOR YOUNG PEOPLE » A Brockton, Massachusetts judge has given Bobby Brown community service, instead of making him face criminal charges, in a cocaine possession case stemming from December of last year. The judge has recommended that he volunteer to mentor area youth.

On December 1, 2007, police say they were responding to a disturbance call at the Brockton hotel, and found the former R&B singer sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot with some cocaine on his person. Brown has agreed to a 1-year community service sentence and his attorney said that if no other issues come up over the next year or so, the matter will be struck from the docket.

MICHAEL JACKSON WILL BE SELLING NEVERLAND RANCH » Word on the asphalt is that Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch will be put up for public auction if he doesn’t come up with $24 million by March 2008. According to a court filing, Financial Title Co. told MJ on Monday that if he can’t pay off the loan he has with them, an auction to sell the ranch to the highest bidder will take place March 19th 2008 at the Santa Barbara County courthouse.

According to various reports, Sean Carter himself is attempting to buy out the arena name since the Continental Airlines naming-rights contract recently expired. The airline relinquished their contract once the NHL Devils (another “home team” in addition to the Nets) announced plans to build a new stadium in Newark, NJ. Clothing lines Izod and Southpole are also in talks to gain the naming-rights.

“We’re looking forward to presentations by bidders next week and then we’ll get into the process of evaluation,” says New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority president George Zoffinger. “I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to over-achieve the current financial deal that we [had] with Continental.”
