A judge ordered Vick to spend 10 days in jail for contempt of court after he missed two court dates to answer to charges of driving with a suspended license.

Newport News Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kathleen Carey told the AJC the younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick reported to jail on Sunday.

Carey says after he serves his time in Virginia, Marcus will be transferred to a prison on Montgomery County where he is wanted on another warrant for failure to appear in court for a civil case from 2008 in which he was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl when he was 20 years old.

Marcus Vick — who is no stranger to trouble — was also kicked off the Virginia Tech football team back in 2006 after a string of arrests and convictions, and he has been involved in various legal issues since then, including gun charges.

Is it really that hard to just stay out of trouble, Marcus?

In an incredible comeback for controversial NFL star Michael Vick, the 31-year-old football player has landed himself a major $100 million 6-year deal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles!

Eagles coach Andy Reid said, “I’m very happy we were able to reach an agreement with Michael on this long-term contract. It’s a product of all the hard work Michael has done to better himself over the last couple of years, both on and off the field.”

According to reports, the deal will pay Vick $16 million over the first three years, making him one of the highest paid players in the league once again, further proving that Vick and his career have now come around full circle.

Michael Vick signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2001 as the No. 1 overall draft pick and was quite the superstar with the team. He even signed a $130 million deal with the Falcons in 2005, and was living the good life … until he was sent to prison in August 2007 for illegal dog fighting, which eventually led to him filing for bankruptcy.

Upon his release from prison, Vick joined the Eagles in 2009 as a third-string QB behind Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb before moving on up as a first-string player after he played for Kolb, who suffered an injury during the season.

Vick went on to lead the Eagles to the NFC East title last season, was the starting quarterback in the Pro Bowl, and was also named comeback player of the year by the Associated Press.

Welcome back Mike Vick!

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, the NFL star gave some worldly advice to R&B singer Chris Brown.

“The advice that I would give to Chris Brown is to put your faith in God. Don’t worry about what people say about you. Words will never hurt you. You know, the things that people say out they mouth can cut you deep and sometimes your tongue can be sharper than a knife. But at the same time, you should never allow that to push you or get you over the edge. You should have more self-control. You control your own destiny. You’re still admired by so many people…and I think he just has to see that and he’ll be okay. Chris Brown is going to be very successful. I think he just needs to let time heal everything.”

Michael Vick was scheduled to make an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” this week, but at the last minute, pulled the plug!

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was supposed to sit down on Oprah’s couch for an interview to air next Thursday (Feb 24) but a spokesman for the show said the football player’s reps called late Tuesday to cancel his appearance for “personal reasons.”

“After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview scheduled for February 22. I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future,” Michael Vick said in a statement.

The interview, which was to cover Vick’s time in prison, his work with the Humane Society and his return to the NFL, was said to objected by Vick’s team. However, the Eagles say they had nothing to do with their QB’s decision to cancel on Oprah.

“We were supportive of him doing it and we’re supportive of him not doing it. We’re supportive all the the way through,” Eagles spokesman Derek Boyko told USA Today Thursday (Feb 17). “I think he just changed his mind,” Boyko, who says he’s not sure why Vick canceled, continued.

Why do you think Michael Vick canceled on Oprah?

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles have said that they want their new star player Michael Vick to stick around for the next few years, the team says that an extension on the quarterback’s contract has yet to be discussed. Full story is below!

According to the Philly Inquirer, the Eagles say that they plan to meet with Vick sometime within the next few weeks to discuss his future as a member of the team, since November is usually when the Eagles sign players eligible to become free agents during the offseason to sort of “lock them in” before other teams do. This year, however, things are a bit different due to labor talks being at a standstill and officials are uncertain about what a potential collective bargaining agreement could look like.

Vick’s tainted image was repaired recently when he became one of the NFL’s leading passers this season, and reports say that he could be become one of the most sought-after free agents in the off-season. But Vick says that he’ll most likely sign with the team who took him in when no one else would.

“When nobody else wanted me, they did,” he said. “I definitely have to take that into consideration when it’s time to make a decision on something.”

The Philadelphia Eagles signed Michael Vick in 2009, just a few months after he was released from federal prison on animal cruelty charges. He spent last season as a back-up for QB Donovan McNabb, and entered this season as Kevin Kolb‘s back-up Quarterback. But after Kolb was injured in the season opening, Vick took over as lead QB and the Eagles have been doing even better! They are 5-3 overall and are 3-0 in the games in which Vick has started and finished.

Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles are due to take on the Washington Redskins this coming Sunday (Nov 15) at FedEx field in Maryland.

Do you think Michael Vick will be a Philadelphia Eagle for a few more years?

Philadelphia Eagles football player Michael Vick will not face any disciplinary action following him allegedly being involved in a shooting after his birthday party at a nightclub in Virginia Beach back in June, says the National Football League. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell personally informed Vick of his decision yesterday (Tues. Aug 3) at the Eagles’ training camp in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

“Commissioner Goodell informed Michael Vick there will be no disciplinary action as a result of the incident in Virginia, based on his current understanding of the facts. Commissioner Goodell spoke several weeks ago by phone with Michael, Tony Dungy, and Eagles coach Andy Reid. All were in agreement on the need for additional support measures to be added to Michael’s plan to enhance his opportunity to succeed in life and football. These additional steps will remain confidential, but they will require Michael to meet even higher standards.”

Police say Vick won’t be charged due to a lack of cooperation by witnesses and the victim, Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in Vick’s federal dog fighting case. Mike and the NFL Commissioner spoke on the phone following the shooting incident, but yesterday was their first face-to-face meeting. Goodell said:

“He understands the responsibility he has and the position he’s in, and he has to make good decisions,” Goodell said. “I want him to understand that he’s in a different position than others and because of that he has to protect himself differently, and he recognizes that, I think, and hopefully he’s going to make good decisions moving forward.

“A large part of our message is going to be the additional support we want to provide, helping him make better decisions, including mentoring, guidance and support we think we can provide him both at the league level and at the club level

“I think he’s made significant progress. I think he understands his responsibility, he’s been focused on it, but as I’ve said to him a year ago, he can’t afford lapses in judgment. He just can’t afford that. He understands that position he’s in, and he needs to make sure that he’s held to that high standard.”

Vick is scheduled to speak to reporters after practice today. But we’re glad he got out of this one okay! He just needs to be a little bit more careful in the future…

Your thoughts?

Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles has been on the road to redemption since being released from prison back in May 2009 following a stint in prison for illegal dog fighting charges. Now the NFL quarterback is preparing to air his new reality show “The Michael Vick Project,” which premieres on February 2nd at 10 pm/9c on BET. Vick says viewers will see that he’s a changed man in the 10-part series.

“At times, it’s hard to talk about it, but for the most part, if you talk about it and let it all out, it kind of helps put the demons to rest,” Vick told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Check out the short promo trailer for the new show after the break!

Looks like BET might be getting some new shows added to their line-up pretty soon! S2S Magazine is reporting that BET has picked up “The Game” and the new version of the show will be taping in Atlanta. Drew Sidora spoke with editors at the magazine, saying that the petitions and uproar about the show getting canceled made BET seal the deal.

“The show is getting picked up, so for people that have been petitioning and wondering, it is coming back to BET. So, hopefully, you will see me back,” Drew told S2S exclusively. “It is official. The deal has been done.”

Buzz of a partnership between BET and CBS TV that would reincarnate the once-cancelled sitcom began spreading in June. Last anyone heard, the network said it was close to a deal, but nothing was final. This news comes with the catch that production on another season of “The Game” hasn’t started just yet. And we heard that she show might actually be taping in Atlanta now.

“Right now, they’re just trying to figure out when it’s going to actually come back, as far as when we start filming the new episodes and things like that,” said Drew. “But BET has picked it up.” The Game has always had a wonderfully loyal fan base, and those who tried to convince the CW to keep it had a big hand in its resurrection. “Everybody that petitioned—believe it or not—about the show getting cancelled, that is really what ultimately had BET even looking to pick it up,” she explained. “It was really dope. Everybody really loves the show and supports the show, so all I can say is keep watching.”

But with the show is headed to a new home field does that mean all of the original cast will be coming along with it?

“I can’t say that for sure, but you will probably see a lot of the characters back,” Drew dished. She’s hoping to get a recurring spot on the show, reprising the self-named role of Drew Sidora. The big question there will be, if she does return, what does that mean for Derwin Davis and his new bride Melanie?

“Just bring people up to date with that because it was never resolved. It was something we always to bring back; it was all about the great timing of it,” Drew said. “I think now people are going to want to see what happens with Mel and I. You know, you might see us out somewhere. And the same with Derwin.”

Speaking of new shows, Michael Vick has a BET show of his own in the works. The show, titled “The Michael Vick Project,” will reportedly show the football player making his controversial comeback in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles. It will also take viewers back to his troubled childhood and take a closer look into his 2007 arrest for running an illegal dog fighting ring.

The quarterback, who took his first regular-season pro snap just two weeks ago after serving 18 months in prison, is partnering with BET for a new eight-part docu-series scheduled to air early next year. The program, tentatively titled “The Michael Vick Project,” spotlights his controversial comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles while also examining his tumultuous past — including his troubled childhood and his 2007 arrest for running a dogfighting ring.

“I just want people to really get to know me as an individual,” Vick said last week in an interview from his home in Philadelphia. “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”

The onetime NFL star’s decision to expose his private life to a television audience follows a flurry of recent news and sports media interviews, which began with “60 Minutes” in mid-August. The Vick series is a gamble for a quarterback who is eager to rehabilitate his tarnished image but also doesn’t want to incur the further wrath of animal rights protesters, many of whom argued against his reinstatement to the NFL.

The project is being produced by DuBose Entertainment; Vick’s production company, MV7 Productions; and Category 5 Entertainment. No one associated with the production would comment on Vick’s compensation for the series. In August, a federal judge approved Vick’s six-year plan to repay creditors an estimated $20 million and emerge from bankruptcy.

Vick is aware that the series may do little to alter the negative perception some hold against him. “All I can ask is that people are receptive and come to this with an open mind,” said Vick. “I can’t change the past, I can only change the present. I know there are people who can’t forget what I did, but I hope they can someday forgive me.”

Michael Vick once had a contract with the Atlanta Falcons worth over $100 million making him one of the highest paid football players in the NFL. But that was all snatched away, along with 2 years of his life due to jail time, when he was indicted on dog fight charges back in 2007.

Now, Vick has been released from prison and given a second chance with the NFL by the Philadelphia Eagles. In a blog posted exclusively to Global Grind, the remorseful NFL player admits that he’s never written a blog before, though it’s a challenge he must face in order to let millions of people know that he is truly sorry.

Check it out below!

I’m sorry. That’s the place where I need to begin. My feeling of remorse. I ain’t never written a blog before, so putting my thoughts down on paper is a challenge – however it’s a challenge I must face. I can look a 250 pound linebacker in his eyes at the line of scrimmage and have no fear. But expressing myself when I know that there are millions of people who are so angry with me, and rightfully so, is a challenge unlike any other I have faced before.

What I did was horrendous. Awful. Inhumane. And I’ve no excuses for my actions. It makes my heart hurt now to think about what I’ve done. And I’m gonna be real honest, it took a while for me to get to this place.

Sitting in a prison cell didn’t make me feel remorse. It was meeting so many animal lovers, speaking with them and looking them in their eyes. Staring at them. Looking so deep into their eyes that I began to feel their pain. Allowing that pain to enter into my body is when I started to understand how bad it really was. I have been trying hard to connect with people who feel this pain, because for my whole life I was disconnected from the suffering of animals. And you might say, “come on Mike, how could you do those things to those dogs?” And you’re right…I ask myself those questions every day. What kind of person does this? How does a human-being treat dogs or any animal with such pain and cruelty? And the hard part for me is the answer to these questions. Because the answer is ME. And I am trying so hard right now to become a better person, because who I was, I am ashamed of.

Cause see, my whole life has been numb. I was numb to the violence in my community…cause I saw it all the time, ever since I was a child. I mean, how does one grow up in a city that’s nickname is Bad Newz? You can probably guess that from the jump, ya’ know I’ve seen some bad things in my life. And football was the only way that I could escape. As a kid, I even used to go out fishing, and most of the times I wouldn’t catch a darn thing, but just needed to get away from the chaos every once in a while. So, when the commissioner called my name as the #1 draft pick in the NFL – the first time a black quarterback had ever been chosen as the #1 pick, I thought my life was all good. But, what I didn’t realize then, that I have begun to realize now, is that even though I had more money in my pocket, big cars and big houses, I was still numb. And when I say numb, I ain’t talkin about not realizing the stuff that was going on around me, it was just like I was living life asleep. However, that is still no excuse for what I did. But let’s not forget that there are still hundreds of thousands of young people growing in similar environments and seeing violence at a young age has severe consequences.

Now that I’m trying my best to wake up, I know I have a lot of work to do. And this isn’t about trying to win a Super Bowl ring or a MVP trophy…this is about trying to save lives. I think back to when I use to play football and of course I use to see all those kids in the stands wearing #7 jerseys. And I would never want them to look up to the Michael Vick who did all of those terrible things to the dogs. I know where I need to do the most work is with all of the people around the world who continue to fight dogs. Let me be straight forward with y’all: What I did was wrong, and what you’re doing is wrong. We must stop dog fighting, and I will do everything in my power to be a voice of someone who has finally woken up from the numbness, and knows just how bad it really is. My mission now is to be a source of service to save many animals. I am working very closely with The Humane Society and will be launching a new campaign shortly. If I had one hope in life, it would be that my actions will speak louder than my words. I know it will be hard to forgive me until you see my sincerity through my actions, but I promise you and I promise myself that that day will come.

Lastly, I accept this challenge, not of writing this blog, but of redeeming myself.

-Michael Vick

So it looks as though Michael Vick is going to get a second chance in the NFL after all. The former Atlanta Falcon was given a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, with an option for a second year. The first year is worth $1.6 million while the second year is worth $5.2 million, according to AP. A special clause in his contract says that none of the money is 100% guaranteed, so the Eagles won’t be facing any financial risk if Vick doesn’t make the team.

“I think everybody deserves a second chance,” a somber Vick said Friday, a day after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. “We all have issues, we all deal with certain things and we all have our own set of inequities. I think as long as you are willing to come back and do it the right way and do the right things and that you’re committed, then I think you deserve it. But you only get one shot at a second chance, and I am conscious of that.”

The three-time Pro Bowl pick served 18 months in federal prison for running an illegal dogfighting ring and was reinstated into the NFL after being shunned in 2006.

As of Friday (Jun 11), Michael Vick is a free agent. He was officially released by his home team, the Atlanta falcons, and is free to sign with any team in the National Football League (NFL). Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff says it’s something they’ve been thinking about for a while now.

“We did our due diligence. We’ve been searching around the league and were looking for some interest as far as a trade. In the very end, we came to a conclusion that it was time. It was best for both us and Michael Vick to move on, to turn the chapter,” Dimitroff said in a statement.

What about other teams? Are they looking to sign the now ex convict?

“But in the very end, without mentioning the teams, they just felt like it was not the right time to do it for them,” Dimitroff said. “We just decided to move forward.”

How did Vick feel after receiving the phone call saying that he’s been released from his team and no other teams are (currently) looking to trade for him?

“He was accepting of it, as you could imagine,” Dimitroff said. “He was expecting it, I’m sure. He was upbeat. We respect him as an individual and as an athlete in this profession. It was the right thing to do. I’m happy that we had a conversation today.”

But there’s a silver lining in every cloud. Despite Vick’s suspension from the league, him being released from the Falcons does allow him to negotiate with other teams since after all, NFL franchises are allowed to sign suspended players. He’s also free to consider looking for options in the Canadian Football League or the United Football League, the latter of which is set to open play in the fall.

“Everybody already knew that Michael would not be playing with the Falcons,” said Joel Segal, Vick’s longtime agent said. “He’s just taking it one day at a time.”

And due to the lack of space available for him at a halfway house, the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback will be able to serve the rest of his prison sentence on house arrest.

His lawyers originally expected him to be moved into a halfway house in Newport News any day now, but instead, he will be released to his Hampton home at some point on or after May 21st, a government official said. Vick will be confined to his home and will be electronically monitored 24/7 and will only be allowed to leave home for activities approved by his probation officer. He’s set to be eligible for release this July.

AKON PLEADS GUILTY IN FAN TOSSING INCIDENT » Singer Akon, and owner of Konvict Musik, reportedly pleaded guilty to harassment last week for tossing a fan from the stage during a concert last summer in Fishkill, New York. He accepted a plea deal in which he will serve zero hours behind bars, but he must perform 65 hours of community service, in addition to paying a $250 fine.

During a June 2007 concert in the small town of Fishkill, NY, the “Right Now (Na Na Na)” singer threw the boy off the stage, as in literally picked him up in the air, and threw him into the audience, after he had apparently thrown something at the 35-year-old singer. A woman in the crowd claims she suffered a concussion when the teen landed on her. The incident hit Youtube and subsequently every major website on the planet.

After accepting the plea, Akon shook hands with 16-year-old Anthony Smith, the guy he threw in the crowd, apologizing to him and his parents. Akon’s lawyer released the following statement:

“We are pleased that the case has been resolved and Akon looks forward to putting this unfortunate incident behind him.”

Akon’s original charges included minor second-degree harassment and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor.

MICHAEL VICK MAY MOVE INTO HALFWAY HOUSE » After losing millions of dollars in endorsements, his multi-million dollar contract with the Atlanta Falcons, and basically ALL of his money, Michael Vick is now B-R-O-K-E. Broke as in having to file for bankruptcy broke. But, there’s a silver lining in every cloud. Because of his financial situation, he could be moved from a federal prison in the Midwest to a Virginia halfway house by January 20th 2009. He’s currently serving a 23-month prison term in Leavenworth, Kansas for holding and financing a dogfighting ring, and is scheduled to be released July 20th.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to a state dogfighting charge, which allows him to be released a few months earlier. This guilty plea also allows the option of him being transitioned into a halfway house. The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback’s camp says that his long-distance absence makes it hard to continue with his bankruptcy proceedings in Virginia, so they are working with the courts to get him moved back to the state.

But, there’s a flip-side. A bad flip-side. U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Frank Santoro ordered that paperwork must be completed to make sure Vick appears at a bankruptcy hearing set for Jan. 30th 2009 in Newport News, Virginia. Michael Blumenthal, one of Vick’s bankruptcy attorneys, said that the paperwork could take weeks to process and could possibly delay the halfway house program. Blumenthal asked Judge Santoro to postpone the court hearing by a week so that Vick could be transferred before his required bankruptcy course, but Santoro refused.

“Mr. Vick came into this court voluntarily,” the judge said. “I am not going to try to schedule around what may or may not be the convenience of Mr. Vick.”

In addition to refusing to move the bankruptcy hearing, Santoro also rejected a financial disclosure statement Vick’s laywers filed in the bankruptcy case, ordering him to submit a new one by Jan. 5th 2009. Major creditors objected to the statement because it “lacked sufficient detail about his finances,” and “failed to back up his statement that he believes he will resume his NFL career after his release.”

The new hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 30th 2009, and Vick must appear for another hearing on that same day to discuss whether or not a trustee should be appointed to take control of his assets.

SOULJA BOY ANIMATED SERIES DUE IN JANUARY » A three webisode run is scheduled for an animated series based on rapper Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. The cartoon will make its debut in late January, and will be called “Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em: The Animated Series.” You saw a short little clip of it in Soulja Boy’s new video, Kiss Me Thru the Phone, featuring Sammie.

The series follows an animated version of the young rapper as he returns to high school. Alfonso Ribiero (Carlton from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air“) plays the school principal.

Well folks, it appears as though the whole Michael Vick saga is finally over! The (currently) ex-quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons went before a judge this morning, and was sentenced to 23 months in prison. His original sentence would have been 24 months (2 years) but Vick went in early a month ago, so he’s already served a month. I know he’s pretty damn happy, though! They were originally talking about giving dude 4 – 5 years! I hope he’s learned his lesson from all of this though. I hate to see people get caught back up into the same shit once they’re back on the streets…

In other Michael Vick news, it’s been reported that the place where he has all of these dog fights has recently become a tourist attraction … no lie! The house, which was purchased for $750,000 by investor Ray Todd is for sell. He hopes to sell the property for about $1 million, and is hosting an “open house” for potential buyers. Some are seriously looking into purchasing the home, while others are just poking around being NOSY! Lol, y’all know how folks are!

“Well, we can’t change history,” says Todd. “History happens somewhere at somebody’s house. Hopefully it’ll spark some interest. A lot of people have questions about what went happened … Hopefully this answers some of those questions.”

As if losing all credibility and possibly his career wasn’t enough, in addition to receiving some jail time (length unknown at the moment), Mr. More »

As if losing all credibility and possibly his career wasn’t enough, in addition to receiving some jail time (length unknown at the moment), Mr. Michael Vick, who was charged on several counts of “animal cruelty” has to pay a hefty price, to the tune of $20,000,000. Yeah, I could’ve said $20 million, but I had to add the zeros to add to the effect. No matter how rich you are, $20 million is a lot of damn money!

The disgraced quarterback lost the first round in his financial battle with the Atlanta Falcons when an arbitrator ruled Tuesday that Vick should repay most of the bonus money he got while secretly bankrolling the long-running operation. The case is far from over. The NFL Players Association said it will appeal the ruling by Stephen B. Burbank, a University of Pennsylvania law professor and special master who oversaw last week’s arbitration hearing in Philadelphia. The Falcons argued that Vick, who pleaded guilty to federal dogfighting charges, knew he was in violation of the contract when he signed a 10-year, $130 million deal in December 2004. The team said he used proceeds from the contract to fund his illicit activities and sought the repayment of $19,970,000 in bonuses he was paid over the last three years.

Any money the Falcons recover from Vick would be credited to its future salary cap, a huge step in recovering from the loss of the team’s franchise player. Atlanta (1-4) is off to a dismal start with Joey Harrington at quarterback. “We are certainly pleased with today’s ruling,” the Falcons said in a statement. “It is the first step in a process that our club has undertaken in an attempt to recoup significant salary cap space that will allow us to continue to build our football team today and in future years.” In a highly technical, nine-page ruling, Burbank said the Falcons were entitled to $3.75 million of the $7.5 million bonus that Vick was paid after signing the deal in 2004, $13.5 million of the $22.5 million in roster, reporting and playing bonuses he was paid in 2005 and 2006, and $2.72 million of the $7 million roster, reporting and playing bonus that he received this year.

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Poor guy. And y’all know how frivolous these celebrities are with their money, so I would definitely be surprised if homeboy actually had every cent of the $20 million. Anyhow, he’s scheduled to be sentenced on December 10th. How long do you think he’ll get? A year? 5 years? 10? 20???

My apologies for the pause in posts the past couple of weeks. I’ve been working on passing on ownership to another site I run since the end of August, and now I can gladly say that Think2wice is now my main priority! You guys are going to notice a big change in the way we update starting next Monday… Just watch ;-) I just ordered a Macbook Pro too, which will promptly arrive tomorrow afternoon, so now I’m MOBILE! No more having to wait until I get home to make posts. Thanks for sticking with us thus-far though. Know that it doesn’t go unappreciated. Now, without further-a-do, check out THURSDAY’S RUNDOWN!

PEOPLE ARE SICK NOW-A-DAYZ! » There are reports making their rounds across the ‘net that Halle Berry had to beef up security after receiving racist threats to harm her unborn baby. She’s expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, whom is white. Recently, she received sickening letters from an anonymous person who has threatened to “chop her baby into one hundred pieces.” The threats, which were sent directly to Berry’s home in LA, are being investigated by police and the star has decided to pay for her own protection. “Halle does not normally use security,” the source says, “but she has taken on a couple of guys to make sure nothing happens.” If she had just had her baby by me, all of this could have been avoided! But all jokes aside, that’s some crazy mess right there…

Â

EFF DEF JAM! FREE NEEDS TO COME BACK TO 106 & PARK! » The latest rumor is that former BET personality Free is in talks with Def Jam for a major recording contract. The still untitled debut release is said to feature production from Salaam Remi (Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis), Kanye West (Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson), Chucky “Amadeus” Thompson (Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans), Just Blaze (Jennifer Hudson, LeToya Luckett), Scott Storch (Keyshia Cole, Silena Murrell), Tim “Timbaland” Mosley (Keri Hilson, Nicole Scherzinger), Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot (Fantasia, Tamar Braxton), The Neptunes: Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo (Kelis, Toni Braxton) and Bryan Michael Cox (Claudette Ortiz, Wynter Gordon). Those are, indeed, some pretty big names. But who else wants to see her and AJ back on 106 & Park?! I know I can’t be the only one… Shout-outs to HIP HOP CRUNCH for the info!

M IS ABOUT BEING “UNFORGETTABLE” NOT “UNFORGIVABLE” » Do you remember DIDDY’S CHALLENGE to a scent-off with J.Lo, Mariah Carey, and other perfume-making celebrities? Well Mariah Carey says that her fragrance, M, is completely different than Diddy’s Unforgivable Woman. She said his new fragrance is aimed at women who want a “ménage à trois or one-night stand.”

I heard about this competition, and I wish Puff all the best with his new fragrance. But I think we’re actually appealing to different types of women. M by Mariah Carey is about being unforgettable, not unforgivable. It’s not about a ménage à trois or a one-night stand – it’s for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty.

DAMMIT, MIKE VICK CAN’T CATCH A BREAK! » It’s really sad what Michael Vick is going through, but you know, just as well as I know, that most of this he has brought on himself. He’s made his bed, and now he must lie in it. The latest story with the football star is that he violated a court order by testing positive for marijuana earlier this month. Now he’s pissed off the judge who has the power to lock him away in jail for the next 5 years. Judge Hudson, who will sentence Vick on December 10, ordered him confined to his Virginia home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. with electronic monitoring. He also must submit to random drug testing. Just chill out, Vick! You are really making it hard on yourself…

With three associates prepared to testify that he brutally executed dogs and bankrolled gambling, Atlanta falcons quarterback Michael Vick agreed earlier today to “accept full responsibility” for his role in a dogfighting ring and plead guilty to federal conspiracy charges. He faces 1 – 5 years in prison, not to mention his potentially damaged career in the NFL! The maximum term is five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines likely would call for less. Defense attorneys would not give out details of the plea agreement or how much time Vick can expect to serve. However, a government official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the terms are not final, told The Associated Press that prosecutors will recommend a sentence of a year to 18 months.
