Michael Jackson news, pictures and videos!

LaToya Jackson, Michael's kids, Janet and Marlon

LaToya Jackson says her nieces and nephews are taking their father Michael Jackson’s death pretty hard; so hard that the three of them are going through therapy to cope with their loss. She even mentioned how heartbroken Paris is because she’ll never be able to see her daddy perform live in person.

Paris thinks and talks about her father all the time. She’s doing very well, writes a lot and she wears his shirts every day. They still smell of him and it helps her feel close to him. Her bedroom is covered in posters of Michael and she watches tapes of him all the time. After he passed, the kids went up to the house to get whatever they wanted. Paris took anything with a picture of her father on and brought it back to her new room at my mother’s house. She was so upset that she would never see her father on stage. She said, ‘Now I’ll never get the chance to see Daddy perform live.’

Michael Jackson's kids at his public memorial at Los Angeles' Staples Center

Michael Jackson’s three children, Prince Michael (12), Paris (11) and Prince Michael aka “Blanket” (7) were not inside the vehicle that was involved in an accident in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon (Oct 21). Reports previously stated that the kids were on their way to a Karate class when the car they were riding in was rear-ended by a thirsty paparazzo.

But after further investigation, the LAPD are saying that the car that was hit was a security vehicle, and not the car the Jackson kids were in. The unidentified photographer who rear-ended the Jackson security car was charged after he reportedly fled the scene without exchanging insurance information. He was charged with a hit-and-run misdemeanor.

The damage done to the security vehicle was reported to be minor and the kids’ grandfather Joe Jackson told reporters that the kids and his wife Katherine, who was also in the vehicle, were okay.

Michael Jackson - "This Is It"

Michael Jackson’s new movie “This Is Set” is set to hit theaters nationwide next Wednesday (Oct 28) for a limited 2 week run and MTV has released 5 never before seen clips from the film! The movie snippets feature songs like “Human Nature,” “The Way You Make Me Feel, “They Don’t Care About Us” and more.

After watching these videos, it’s kind of sad to think about how the show will never really be seen in its “LIVE” form. We know Michael would have killed it. We know dude put on a good show during rehearsals, but imagine how amazing the concert would have been live in person with him performing in front of thousands of people! We were all geared up to get plane tickets to London and grab tickets for one of the February or March 2010 dates too. But we guess we have no choice but to settle on the “This Is It” movie, a close second best.

Janet Jackson peforms "Scream" during the Michael Jackson tribute at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Last night’s VMAs opened up with a touching speech about Michael Jackson by pop singer Madonna, followed by an upbeat dance routine featuring some of the King of Pop’s biggest hits. Among the dancers were famous choreographers Wade Robson, Tina Landon, Laurie Anne Gibson, and Chris Judd, who all put in hours of rehearsal time to make the tribute a success.

The highlight of the tribute was when MJ’s little sister Janet Jackson came out during “Scream” and broke it down at the end with the music video’s dance routine. The effect of the backdrop made it seem like MJ was dancing right beside her, which was so sweet! You could tell this particular performance was a bit difficult for Janet as she clenched her jaws and tried to hold back her tears at the end. But we applaud her for going up there and doing her thing in spite of just losing her brother just 2 months ago.

Janet Jackson // October 2009 Harper's Bazaar Magazine

Janet Jackson gave her very first interview since the passing of her brother Michael Jackson to Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. The pop diva is featured on the cover of the October 2009 issue of the magazine and talks about the last time she saw Mike, her break-up with Jermaine Dupri and everything in between. She even revealed that she’s stayed away from the television, newspapers, the internet and the entire media in general ever since June 25th.

Janet Jackson hasn’t watched television since her brother Michael died suddenly in Los Angeles on June 25. She has blocked herself off completely from the hysterical media coverage of his death — who did it, what did it. “It will drive you crazy,” she says. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.”

The last time Janet saw Michael was on May 14, two days before her 43rd birthday. It was a family celebration, the Jackson kids were running around, and she and her big brother hung out, ate Thai food, and tormented each other. “We had so much fun that day,” she says, her soft voice almost inaudible. “We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was.”

Janet is also now single, recently breaking off her seven-year relationship with music producer Jermaine Dupri. Does she still believe in marriage? “For [some] people, sure! I don’t know if I’ll get married again. [She's been married twice, as a teen to James DeBarge and to choreographer René Elizondo.] I’ll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will.” Dating? “Yeah, I’ve had people ask me out. I haven’t entertained any offers thus far, but I’m locking myself in my work right now.” Some might say boys smell anyway. “Yeah, they stink,” she chuckles, “and they’re dirty.”

Janet and Michael Jackson

We’ve kept from posting this due to the fact that it was falsely reported a while ago but now that MTV has confirmed it, we are please to inform you that Janet Jackson will be taking to the stage this Sunday to tribute her late brother, the one and only King of Pop Michael Jackson! The pop singer, who has nine moonmen of her own, will help open the show and honor MJ’s long and successful career in the music biz.

It’s about damn time someone gave MJ a proper tribute, and who better to do it than his sister? Janet has kept silent since the passing of Michael so this is a nice way to make a statement. We’re definitely looking forward to this Sunday! Expect this to sh*t all over BET’s “tribute.” Yes, we’re STILL bitter about it!

The VMAs will air September 13th at 9PM EST.

Michael Jackson "This Is It" Movie Poster

Above is the movie poster for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” movie. The film will feature never before scene footage of the rehearsals for Jackson’s ill-fated “This Is It Tour,” directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical). You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at MJ and his creative team working on the tour, which was set to kick-off at the beginning of the summer at London’s O2 Arena. Every single date was SOLD OUT!

The film will run only for two weeks, starting on October 28th and tickets will go on sale Sunday, September 27th. In the meantime, visit the official website for more details.

That poster looks great and we will be standing in line for those tickets as soon as they go on sale! Those tickets are going to sell out quickly and we definitely expect this movie to break records. Will you be seeing this when it comes out?

Chris Brown // Michael Jackson

It’s really up to the courts whether or not Chris Brown will be taking part in a Michael Jackson tribute concert, set to be held in Vienna on September 26th. Jermaine Jackson himself announced that Brown, along with Mary J. Blige, Akon, Natalie Cole, Angela Bassett and more are set to appear at the tribute and the final list of performers and celebrity attendees hasn’t been finalized, so more could be (and will be) added.

Sometime during the show, expected to draw 65,000 fans to the venue, Jermaine will perform alongside a virtual Michael Jackson in a sure-to-be touching and “magic moment for all who loved his music,” Jermaine said.

While a label rep denies that Chris Brown will be taking part in the tribute, Jermaine says that the young pop star definitely wants to be a part of it.

“Chris Brown is working out some situations but he definitely expressed to us that he wants to be here,” said Jermaine. “It’s just up to what he’s going through with his court case right now. … People make mistakes and he’s a wonderful performer and during these times people need support and that’s really important.”

Michael Jackson's casket // Michael Jackson's Private Funeral

Nearly three months after his surprising death, Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest Thursday evening (Sep 3) in an intimate ceremony only attended by close family and friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, located in the Glendale district of Los Angeles. According to reports, guests were told the ceremony would start promptly at 7 P.M. (sunset) but the Jackson family left them waiting for about an hour until they showed up a little after 8 P.M. (PT). Jackson’s brothers, Randy, Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine, wheeled his gold casket to the front of the service once they arrived, and his three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael Jr., placed a gold crown on top of the flowers adorning it. They also wrote letters to their father that were placed inside of his casket, alongside one of his signature white gloves.

Al Sharpton, MJ’s ex wife Lisa Marie Presley and Gladys Knight, who sang a gospel song after a prayer by Pastor Lucius Smith. Clifton Davis also performed “Never Can Say Goodbye,” the popular song he wrote for the Jackson 5. After the ceremony was over, MJ’s brothers carried his casket to the Grand Mausoleum, where Michael Jackson entered his final resting place.
