Contrary to what you may see in movies and on TV … Meagan Good is a “good” girl.

Years ago, after several failed relationships, Meagan Good — who is known for her sexy vixen-like acting roles — vowed to herself that she wouldn’t have sex again until she was married, and apparently she kept her promise.

The 30-year-old actress reveals in a recent interview with Life & Style Magazine that she and her preacher man fiancee DeVon Franklin have remained celibate for the past year, and their wedding night will be the first time they have sex.

“Our wedding night will be the first time we’re actually together.”

Meagan and DeVon, a Seventh Day Adventist preacher, started dating shortly after running into each other on the set of “Jumping the Broom,” where DeVon was working his day job as a Sony film executive. She says they had known each other for six years before that.

The future Mrs. Franklin said that when they started dating, she knew DeVon was ‘the one’ because he was willing to be celibate with her until they got married. She told Life & Style:

“He was willing to be celibate with me for a year … He loves God, more than I love God, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong [with him].”

Last month, Meagan explained to Global Grind what ultimately brought her to the decision to become celibate:

“I was crying about so much at the time that God told me exactly what it was going to be and he told me that the next relationship that I got into was going to be ‘the’ relationship. God told me specifically what the criteria was with the man I was going to marry and he told me to not settle.

“So I would meet guys who are Christians or loved the Lord, but they weren’t trying with all their heart to walk with him. And I wouldn’t feel in myself that that was the guy, so even if I liked him or was attracted to him I would say, ‘OK I’m not going to settle.’

“Then shortly after that I became celibate. I said, ‘Alright Lord, let’s see what you have for me.’ Oddly enough, Devon and I had known each other for six years and [Jumping The Broom] wrapped nine moments before we even dated. During a couple of those months before, it started getting in my spirit that he was going to be my husband and he didn’t even know.

“I came and did this thing in his church where I talked about my testimony. I already told my godsister in the car on the way over there. Oh, he’s my husband I know that. And we didn’t start dating till three months after that.”

And while Meagan isn’t ready to reveal their wedding date just yet, she did reveal the luxurious location.

“We found the venue, which I’m really excited about, and it’s going to be in Malibu,” she told Life & Style. “I know I want to go for a bayou-themed kind of Spanish mosque, a very enchanted-y Twilight feel.”

Meagan Good is going to be “jumping the broom” tying the knot sometime in the near future.

The 30 year-old actress is now engaged to her preacher boyfriend Devon Franklin, who according to TMZ, is an exec at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and also leads a double life as a 7th Day Adventist preacher.

The two begin dating after production wrapped on “Jumping the Broom,” which Devon produced and Good starred in.

He popped the question last month in L.A. and obviously, “she said yes!”

Everyone’s favorite “girl-next-door” actress Meagan Good shows up on the cover of the latest issue of Heart & Soul Magazine.

Inside the June/July issue of the magazine, Meagan talks about her all girl rock band H.E.L.L.O. Girls (which she fronts alongside her sister Lamiya), her work-out regimen, how she’s ready for a serious relationship and more.

The 29-year-old film and TV actress even shared how she made it through a cancer scare a few years ago. Click below for the excerpts:

On opening for Cee-Lo Green recently as part of H.E.L.L.O. Girls:
“Our songs sound like the Beastie Boys meets Gwen Stefani meets Vanity Six. Mostly, they have spiritual undertones, but they’re not preachy. We’re telling women to respect themselves.”

On cutting back on read meat and juice in favor of seafood, grilled vegetables and water after she turns 30 this August:
“I cut out cheeseburgers all together, and I’m really sad because I love cheeseburgers.”

On having cancerous cells in her uterus removed a few years ago:
“It didn’t scare me. When people don’t know they have something, they’re fine. When they do find out, they get worse. A lot is attitude. When you’re afraid and freaked out, that’s when it worsens. I try to keep a positive outlook.”

On her work-out regimen, which includes jogging about 3 or 4 times per week for 30 to 40 minutes:
“And I do squats so I don’t lose my booty.”

On her being ready for a serious relationship:
“I’m definitely at a point in my life where I am ready to find a partner in crime—in a good way—who respects my mind and treats me like a partner and a best friend.”

Black Hollywood came out in a big way Wednesday night ( May 4) to support the release of Sony Pictures’ newest film “Jumping the Broom” at the ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. The film’s stars, including actresses Paula Patton, Angela Bassett, Tasha Smith and Loretta Devine, as well as actors Romeo, Laz Alonso, Pooch Hall and Mike Epps all came out to catch the big premiere.

Other celebs, like Meagan Good, Christina Milian, Eva Marcille, Teyana Taylor and plenty more, were also spotted on the white carpet of the movie premiere. “Jumping the Broom” hits theaters tomorrow (May 6), but until then, check out the pics from the Hollywood premiere below!

My boy Jay-Z tore the stage up Saturday night when he performed at the MEN Arena in the U.K. Wanna know how he stands in front of thousands of people every night when he’s on tour? “They’re just people,” Jay-Z was recently quoted as saying. “Don’t matter if it’s 11 people or 11,000. The American Idol finale wasn’t the only star studded event that took place last night! Maxim Magazine held their “Maxim’s Hot 100” party last night. Stars like Megan Good, Christina Millian, Mario, Amerie, Elise Neal, Nicole Schezinger, Tishina Arnold, and the Oh So Fine Evan Ros all came out to party with Magazine.

The Cannes Film Festival also took place yesterday. Celebs like Mary J. Blige, Naomi Campbell, Star Jones, and Diddy were all spotted at the festival’s after party, the dinner, or the actual event.

Actress Megan Good was chosen as one of Vanity Fair Magazine‘s “Vanities Girls”. In addition to a photo shoot, Vanity Fair highlighted Meagan’s directing debut. Megan’s Movie “Miles From Home” premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Ashanti recently released some promotional pics and spoke about her new album “The Declaration”

“One of the reasons I call the album ‘The Declaration,’ is because I feel it’s important to present all sides of what being a woman is about,” she says. “Historically, we’ve always been relegated to the bottom of the totem pole, whether it’s business or the battle of the sexes or just empowering each other. I want this album to make people feel stronger about themselves. I’ve always used the ups and downs in my own life as well as others close to me as a motivational tool and I hope my music comes off that way. I felt a lot of passion making this record. I loved every minute I was in the studio.”

“The Declaration” is scheduled to drop on June 3rd.

Michelle Williams released another Promo pic through her Myspace and also spoke about the Video premiere of her new single “We Break The Dawn“.

THE ENGAGEMENT IS OFF! » Certified cornball Nick Cannon and Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks have called off their engagement and split up, Ebanks’s rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends.

The breakup comes just five months after the Drumline actor made a proposal that lit up New York’s Times Square – literally – as he asked Ebanks to marry him with the help of a jumbotron. By August, Cannon, 26, was more measured when it came to nailing down wedding details, telling PEOPLE, “We haven’t really talked about a lot of that stuff. ISN’T IT A LITTLE TO EARLY IN THE GAME FOR “BEEF?” » The Dream, popular for Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” J.Holiday’s “Bed,” and more recently, his own single, “Shawty Is a Ten” is heated at fellow R&B singer Chris Brown! In a recent interview with Billboard The Dream revealed he has beef with the teen crooner over comments Brown made regarding his hit song “Bed.”

The track was considered for Chris Brown – he thought it was his – but it was my record and I decided to give it up to J.Holiday. Chris said the record won’t be No. 1 unless he’s on it. I bet someone $500,000 that it would go to No. 1 and I collected my money just last week. … He said the wrong thing to me. He has a track from me now that I was paid for already and I want to give him his money back. At the end of the day, I’m big on principle and loyalty. Put that to bed.

Aww snap! But I’d love to hear Chris Brown’s side of the story. There’s The Dream’s side, Chris’ side, and then the truth! But I wouldn’t put it past ol’ CBrown to make a comment like that. He IS getting a little big in the head area. But I’m glad Dream gave the song to J.Holiday. I can’t imagine Chris singing that song since it fits J so well.
