The 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was taped in New York City at the Lexington Avenue Armory Wednesday night (Nov 9) for a TV special that will air on CBS later this month.

The pink carpet featured appearances from various celebs like TV personality Lala Anthony, R&B singer Maxwell, Hip-Hop mogul and philanthropist Russell Simmons, actor Cuba Gooding Jr., model Tyson Beckford and Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine.

Supermodels Chanel Iman and Miranda Kerr looked absolutely stunning as they ripped the runway, showing off the brand’s newest and sexiest styles of lingerie, with Kerr walking down the runway wearing the $2.5 million diamond-studded bra designed by London Jewelers.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs Tuesday, November 29th at 10 pm ET on CBS.

Kelly Rowland celebrated the release of her new “Here I Am” album Tuesday night (Jul 26) with friends atop the Standard Hotel in New York City.

The R&B singer was joined by her former Destiny’s Child band-mates Beyonce and Michelle Williams, as well as Big Sean, Maxwell, Estelle, Tika Sumpter, Terrence J and more.

Mariah Carey performed for the President and his family at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. for TNT‘s Christmas in Washington 2010 television special. The R&B diva sang two songs for the crowd: “One Child” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” as President Obama, the First Lady and the First Children and others looked on.

The concert, which aired on cable TV over the weekend (Fri. Dec 17), also featured a performance from R&B singer Maxwell, who delivered flawless renditions of the classic Christmas tunes “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Silent Night.”

Maxwell is stopping his major city tour so that he can focus his attention to the follow-up to his Grammy Award winning BLACKSummersnight album.

A Colubmia Records spokesperson said that “scheduling conflicts with the venues” was the reasoning behind the cancellalations and the second leg of the tour will be pushed back to next year to go along with the release of his new project, the second part to the “BlackSummersNight” album trilogy.

The tour features neo-soul singers Jill Scott and Erykah Badu as supporting acts who take turns opening in the different cities, and all dates past the June 26th stop in New York City has been postponed for 2011. Fans who have already purchased tickets from Ticketmaster are eligible for refunds.

The second album in Maxwell’s trilogy of music is set to be released at the top of next year.

In a strange turn of events, Maxwell has been forced to delay the release of his new album because his latest album BLACKsummers’night (released in 2009) is so successful that promotion for it is getting in the way.

Maxwell’s 2009 album release, his first in 8 years, earned two trophies at this year’s Grammy Awards and is the first of a three part series. Part two was supposed to drop this summer, but Maxwell has decided to push back it back so that he can continue to promote the first part of the album series.

He tells the Associated Press, “These are good problems, I guess. I had a plan – every year something new, and I thought that that would be a good enough time to sort of give people space to feel like they weren’t being inundated by what I was doing. I’ve had this entire trilogy with me for years, for four or five years, so I can wait. I just want people to get it when they want it… At this point, it’s in their hands.”

No word just yet on when the second part of the trilogy will be released.

Following an introduction by Haiti native Wyclef Jean, R&B singer Mary J. Blige collaborated with opera star Andrea Bocelli live on stage Sunday night (Jan 31) at the 2010 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and the duo sang Simon & Garfunek’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” which was dedicated to the people of Hait.

Another duet of the night came from country music sensation Taylor Swift and rock legend (and former Fleetwood Mac member) Stevie Nicks, who performed an off-key version (courtesy of Swift) of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” before moving on to Taylor’s hit single “You Belong to Me.”

And following his performance of “Pretty Wings,” R&B crooner Maxwell brought out R&B legend Roberta Flack for a duet of Flack’s “Where is the Love.”

Following performances from his opening acts Chrisette Michele and Common, R&B singer/songwriter Maxwell performed Monday night (Sep 28) in concert in his hometown of New York City at the world-famous Madison Square Garden in support of his BLACKsummers’night fall tour.

The homecoming for headliner Maxwell was sweet: The Garden went completely dark for a few seconds as the chorus from Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” warmed up the arena. Max walked out in a dark three-piece suit. The singer started his set on the main stage, but later took to a runway that split into a Y-shaped fork. He had a giant video screen behind him that broke into four smaller screens and later into two ones. “Even though she pays me no attention/ All I wanna show is my affection/ Lose myself inside her ebony,” he sang during “Sumthin’ Sumthin’.” “She ain’t even checking me,” he continued, dropping to his knees to add drama. On cue, women in the audience started screaming.

Dance splits followed, and then Max dragged the mic stand onto the runway. He faked walking back to the main stage, then ran down the left side of the runway, slapping hands, then did the same down the right side. The tempo slowed down for the soulful “Lifetime.” “Sometimes you just wanna smack your boss in the face,” he improvised. “But you gotta put food on your table … Brooklyn, stand up!” The lyrical seductions continued on “Bad Habits” (from his recent chart-topping BLACKsummers’night LP) and one of the biggest crowd-pleasers of the night, “Fortunate.”

It looked like Maxwell might actually drop a few real tears at one point in the night. He started assessing the moment. “I’m from Brooklyn, New York,” he told the crowd. “My family is from the West Indies: My mother is from Haiti and my father is Puerto Rican. Things like this are not are supposed to happen to us,” he said about headlining the Garden. “I’m gonna sing this song with all my heart and if you could help me, I would be so happy.” He then went into “This Woman’s Work,” which was written by Kate Bush but has become one of Maxwell’s signature songs.

After his recent hit “Pretty Wings,” Max played with the audience a little. “Y’all didn’t hear what happened?” he asked. “Are y’all playing with me?” He then told them what happened. “It happened the moment when you were revealed,” he sang with no beat, going into “Ascension.” ” ‘Cause you were a dream that you should not have been/ A fantasy real … You gave me this beating, baby,” he continued as the audience sang along, at times letting them take the lead. “This rhythm inside/ And you made me feel good and feel nice and feel loved/ Give me paradise.”

The band then started the song over, with the beat this time. After the song concluded, someone threw a pair of panties onstage. “I have [bodily fluids] all over my forehead!” Max joked.

Getting more serious, he said, “I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be a New Yorker in New York tonight.”

Columbia artist Maxwell is set to move between 275K to 325K on the Billboard 200 chart with his first album in nearly eight years, BLACKsummers’night. In comparison, his last album Now opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 296,000 units moved. However, it may not end up being the top selling album of the week. Sales for Michael Jackson were reportedly “very brisk” on the day of his memorial.

In other Billboard news, the Hannah Montana 3 TV soundtrack will take in between 100,000 – 125,000 and All Time Low’s third studio album Nothing Personal will move between 60,000 and 75,000.

Here Jamie Foxx can be seen paying tribute to Michael Jackson (comedically, of course) as the host of the 2009 BET Awards, which aired live from Los Angeles Sunday night (Jun 28) on BET. Jamie Foxx is probably one of the few people who can make light of a sad situation and have everyone laughing and crying at the same time. The BET Awards was supposed to dedicate the entire show to Michael, per the press release sent out Friday, but failed to impress.

The show itself was pretty good, but they should have never mentioned dedicating the show to MIchael if they didn’t have the time to do it right. That said, we really hope they put together an entire special to honor the late King of Pop so they can at least try to save face. BET Networks recently announced via press release that rappers Jay-Z, Fabolous and Young Jeezy and gospel duo Mary Mary have all been added to the official line-up of performers for the 2009 BET Awards. The annual ceremony’s star-studded line-up of performers already includes platinum-selling artists like Beyonce, Kanye West, The Dream, Soulja Boy, Ne-Yo and Maxwell so the new additions to the roster will no doubt be in good company.

The popular African American entertainment network also announced that Queen Latifah, Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Idris Elba, Paula Patton and Solange Knowles have all been confirmed as presenters at the show, which will take place live via Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, June 28th at 8:00 P.M.

R&B singer Maxwell is back on the scene, but not without worries. It’s been almost 8 years since he released his last album, Now, which reached #1 in both the U.S. and the U.K, and when the time came to put out new music, he knew his absence to the scene for nearly a decade would be a gamble. And it definitely had folks talking and making their own speculations. But the 36-year-old Brooklyn native says he didn’t really pay attention to those crazy rumors:

Maxwell IS BACK with a new look (he cut his hair) and recently debuted his brand new music video for “Pretty Wings,” which also serves as the debut single from Black, his upcoming album due in stores July 7th. Singers Monica and Maxwell stopped for a photo backstage during the BET Networks’ 2009 Upfront media presentation, where they announced 4 brand new shows in addition to a new entertainment and music channel called CENTRIC. The presentation, held at the Nokia Theatre in New York Thursday night, featured special appearances by Mary J. Blige, Mo’Nique, MC Lyte and more.

According to several announcements made at the event, Monica will be getting her own “docu-drama” (aka reality series) titled Monica: Still Standing and Mo’Nique has her own nightly talk/variety show. No word on when the new shows will be premiering yet, but continue reading for more photos from the media event.
