Martin Lawrence has filed for divorce from his wife of the past two years Shamicka, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

After a 15-year relationship, Martin and Shamicka got married in July 2010. They announced their separation last Tuesday (Apr 24), and the very next day, Martin filed for divorce.

Regarding their divorce, the couple released the following statement:

“Out of love and respect for one another, we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together.”

Martin and Shamicka have two daughters together, 11-year-old Iyanna and 9-year-old Amara Trinity.

According to TMZ, Martin wants joint physical/legal custody of their children … and just in case you were wondering, there is a prenuptial agreement between the pair.

It’s been almost half a decade since Martin Lawrence released “Big Momma’s House 2″, and that particular movie has since earned nearly $140 million at the worldwide box office. Now it’s time for the third installment of Lawrence’s “Big Momma’s House” film series, titled “Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son.”

In “Like Father, Like Son”, Lawrence’s character (FBI Agent Malcom Turner) teams up with his stepson Trent (played by actor/comedian Brandon T. Jackson) to go on an undercover mission at an all-girls school after Trent witnesses a murder.

Remember that hilarious Jamie Foxx/Martin Lawrence “Skank Robbers” skit that debuted the night of the 2010 BET Awards this past summer? Well, if you liked it (which we’re pretty sure you did) we have some good news!

According to S2S Magazine, Jamie and Martin have turned their one-off parody into a real movie, and word is, they grabbed Halle Berry for a role! Peep the full story below:

What started out as a joke for Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence is now an actual movie, and they managed to snag Halle Berry.

You could say that Skank Robbers pulled a move like Machete, going from one-time skit to major-film project. When audiences saw a fake teaser for Skank Robbers at the 2009 BET Awards, it was so popular that Screen Gems picked it up for development. Up until now, there hasn’t been too much more talk about Skank Robbers, but when “Extra” recently caught up with Jamie, he revealed some exciting tidbits about the project and its plot.

“We rob banks from northern California to southern California. Halle’s in it, so it’s going to be hot,” Jamie confirmed to “Extra” without giving any specifics on what role Halle may play in the film.

This announcement makes Halle the first cast member, outside of Jamie and Martin, to be confirmed for the film, due out some time next year.

Actor Martin Lawrence tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Shamicka Gibbs Saturday afternoon (July 10) in front of 120 guests at a private wedding ceremony at their Beverly Hills home.  Hollywood stars such as Denzel Washington and Eddie Murphy were in attendance along with many members of the couple’s family including their daughters 9-year-old Iyana and 7-year-old Amara, and Martin’s 14-year-old daughter Jasmine from his first marriage.

After the new Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence said their “I Dos,” the newlyweds joined their friends and family for a family-themed reception under a huge tent in their backyard. According to a source:

“They wanted an intimate celebration. This wedding was all about family.”
