R&B songwriter turned singer Keri Hilson performed on stage Tuesday night (Oct 27) during Power 105.1’s Powerhouse concert at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ.

Fellow singer Mario, who was later joined on the stage by rapper Jim Jones, also performed some of his hits at the live concert, which also saw performances from Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Fabolous, The Dream and Day 26.

Singers Alicia Keys and Mario were spotted as they exited MTV Studios in New York City earlier today. The two had just recorded an episode of MTV’s “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” a live interactive entertainment, music, talk and variety program that regularly features the most popular celebrities and musical performances from the hottest artists.

Alicia is busy promoting her new album, The Element of Freedom, due in stores December 1st, and her new music video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything.” Mario, on the other hand, is busy pushing his recently released D.N.A. album and his new “Thinkin’ About You” music video.

Rapper Hurricane Chris is on the verge of putting out his second studio album and has released his new music video for the second single, “Headboard,” featuring fellow rapper Plies and R&B singer Mario.

The Lakers games these past couple of weeks have been on and poppin’ as far as celebrity turn-out! It seems as though every day, or every other day at least, we’re posting about who hit up one of the games. Singer Mario and actor Evan Ross can be seen above with their “Kool Moe Dee” shades on at last night’s game. Why the hell are they wearing shades to a baksetball game? I’m not sure about how they like to view games, but if I had courtside seats, I definitely wouldn’t be hindering my view in any kind of way. But that’s just me.

R&B singer Mario will be one of 12 celebrity performers on ABC’s top-rated Dancing with the Stars when it returns in its 6th season premiere March on 17, 2008.

“I’ve never done ballroom dancing, but I’ll be ready. Everywhere I go, I represent my city, Baltimore,” he said. “And coming from a place where success stories for youth are few and far between, I see my involvement in Dancing with the Stars as a chance for me to show millions of viewers what hard work and dedication can accomplish. This is the story of my life. When my manager called me to talk me about being on the show, he knew what my first answer was going to be. But then I came to notice that the show gave viewers a chance to get to know the performer behind the costume – and I liked that. I like the fact that I will be carrying the torch for my generation. And, I also like the fact that I will be doing it with such a diverse and accomplished cast of other performers this year. This is definitely a challenge, but I’ve had challenges all my life. At the end of the day, if you dedicate yourself, there’s nothing you can’t do. This is just another way for me to express myself, and we’re going to be amazing.”

Mario » “Music for Love” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Music for Love” is set to be R&Ber Mario’s forthcoming single from his much-underrated album Go! (J Records), which is in stores now – I highly recommend you buy this album! I think the single is gold, really every song from that album I find single-material. The song is really subtle with melodies and harmonies, it’s “whip-listenable,” as well as pleasurable, in my opinion.

Chris Brown ft. Will.i.am » “Picture Perfect” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Picture Perfect” featuring domestic-producer Will.i.am will be Chris Brown’s forth single from Exclusive (Jive). It’s interesting they’re making this a single; Chris Brown co-produced it. “PP” took me a minute to get into, it wasn’t my immediate favorite when I first heard Exclusive, but I’m feeling it now! I can’t wait to see how this plays out, with the promotion, video, etc.

Fergie » “Finally” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Finally” will be the final single from Fergie’s 3x’s platinum-album The Dutchess (A&M). The song itself was produced by John Legend, he was the pianist, and also Fergie stated that she would be performing with him at the 50th Grammy Awards. I liked this song a lot listening to Fergie’s album, the song was a nice ballad for her, it really showed her vocal capability nice.

Kanye West ft. Chris Martin » “Homecoming” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Homecoming,” featuring Cold Play’s Chris Martin, will be the fifth single from Kanye West’s 2x’s platinum-album Graduation (Def Jam). Unfortunately the song will only be released in the UK, instead of “Flashing Lights,” which is serving as the fourth single in the rest of the world. I said it once, and I’ll say it again, you UKer’s get everything! Lol. But for real, I really like this song, “Homecoming” has to be the most creative, conceptual song I’ve heard, as far as personification, this great man – is genius!

Mario ft. Akon – “City”

Here R&B crooner Mario can be heard with Konvict’s own Akon in a nice, smooth R&B duet entitled “City.” The song, which features Akon, is an unreleased track from Mario’s latest album Go (J Records). This was an interesting collaboration for me, Akon rocks it, I’ll admit. I can see why this didn’t really make the album but still a great track and solid delivery from Mario nonetheless. Mario I find so flawless collaborating becos he meshes so well and seemingly effortless, it’s magical. There’s talk of a “Crying Out For Me” remix circulating – it’ll be interesting to know if there are any guest appearances involved.

Keyshia Cole and Mario hit up MTV’s Total Request Live yesterday afternoon. Keyshia performed her new single “Shoulda Let You Go” with Amina, and Mario was there to promote his new album “Go.” Lupe Fiasco dropped by the popular countdown show as well.

MARIO • “IF”

Here R&B singer Mario can be heard doing a cover of Beyoncé’s “If” over Trey Songz’ “Can’t Help But Wait” beat produced by Stargate. Wow, I must say, Mario had some solid delivery on this song. Kudos to whoever hooked up the arrangements! I think with material like this, it will definitely improve Mario’s versatility with different melodies, I would say he’s right up there with Trey Songz. I truly believe him and Mario are the two most underrated R&B artists out there at the moment. Anyway, overall, this isn’t single material in my opinion – but this would be great for mixtape material or as buzz track until the album releases. Now, when the album releases … I do not know. I here Mario’s label is releasing the Explicit version on October 30th and the clean one November 27th? No, no, NO! Who is the person over that? What I would do … I would release the Clean version FIRST, that way it’ll get folks all psyched up for the Explicit version when it drops. Because if the Clean is any good then everybody will be like, “damn, I want to hear the explicit version of this!” you know? J Records needs to hire me, indeed.

Platinum selling recording artist Mario returns with his third studio effort entitled Go! in stores Oct-uh … November 27th … ??? Despite the constant letdowns and frequent post-pones from Mario’s label – I, surprisingly, enjoyed the album. I heard some ultra sweet arrangements and solid production; that including The Neptunes, Stargate, Timbaland and Ne-Yo. Both erotic AND eclectic, Go! reached systemic volumes, the album had some great Uptempo and Downbeat on it. Standout tracks from the LP, in my opinion, are “Go”, “Crying Out For Me”, “Why” and “Right And Wrong Way”.

Smitty feat. Chris Brown + Mario » “Tell Me” » LISTEN » (Full) » This is a leaked track from rapper Smitty’s new album, Life Of A Troubled Child, set to be released October 2007. The PDD-produced track, entitled “Tell Me,” features R&B crooners Chris Brown and Mario. Although I think having a rapper and two singers on this type of track is highly unnecessary, surprisingly, I’m feelin’ it! Besides, this will be a great look for Chris, he can learned from Mario’s experience; and grow as an upcoming R&B singer himself. And I still think that Chris’ label should have released his forthcoming album the same time as Mario, just to play with it and see, you know? And fuel a good R&B competition, similiar to like what 50 and Kanye had, rather than releasing him during the most anticipating time in Hip-Hop (Jay-Z and Nas). [ THANKS KEVINNNNNN! ]

She did that, if you don’t have the album, what are you waiting for? Go buy it – it’s in stores right now!

Beyoncé » “Until The End Of Time (Remix)” » LISTEN » (Full) » Sorry for posting this again, but I passed out last night and when I woke up I had this terrible headache so, when I posted the song – it was sort of “rushed” and I couldn’t elaborate as much as I wanted to. This is the official remix, featuring Beyoncé, to Justin’s “Until The End Of Time”. You know, I loved the original, but I’m feeling the remix a little more so. I felt a sudden warmth, I mean, the vibratos matched perfectly; there were no jumps, skips, etc. in the song, with Beyoncé singing onto a pre-recorded track, the continuity was rare.

Mario feat. Usher ??? » “My Love” » LISTEN » (Full) » “My Love” is like an “unconfirmed” track, as of now, from Mario’s album Go!; it features Usher. If it was up to me, I’d go ahead and include this, it’s pretty solid to me. I’m just so glad Usher is back with new music! And, I checked, this is brand new! LOL, you heard it on Think2wice. (yes that is Usher) CONFIRMED: The other guy in the track IS NOT usher!
