Mariah confirmed the shocking news via her Twitter and her official website earlier today (Wed Jan 4).

“Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman,” the R&B/Pop diva tweeted, along with a picture of her lying with him in his bed at the hospital.

Carey wrote on her website that she and her husband were “trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful.”

Later in the day, Cannon tweeted that he was “currently being transferred to a hospital in L.A.” and also thanked his fans for keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.

“Thank you for all your love, prayers and concern,” he tweeted. “You know me. I will be a’ight.”

A witness told US Weekly that the Cannon-Careys had their 8-month twins along with them as they were flown to L.A. Wednesday evening. “Nick looked pretty frail and weak, but Mariah was helping him,” they said.

His wife Mariah Carey says considering the situation, which she says is “not easy,” the actor and TV personality is in “good spirits,” though he is in “a lot of pain,” but stable.

“We are hopeful that he’ll be 100 percent as soon as possible,” she told People. “We really appreciate everybody’s love and support.”

Nick Cannon looked like a bank robber as he wore a black ski mask over his face while out shopping with his wife Mariah Carey in Aspen, Colorado over the Christmas Holiday.

Mariah and Nick were spotted making their way out of Mariah’s mother’s jewelry store, and the pair even shared a kiss for the cameras!

It’s an annual tradition for the happily married couple to travel to Aspen for Christmas, except for last year when they didn’t want Mariah to fly while she was pregnant with their twins.

This year, however, the newborn twins Monroe and Moroccan accompanied mommy and daddy on the trip.

Mariah says Christmas is her favorite holiday of all time. She said in a recent interview, “I start planning my Christmas in June. It’s absolutely my favorite holiday and I’ve always loved everything about this time of year. I love cooking and I’m a smash-hit wonder in the kitchen.”

“I’m going to be making the turkey, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings this Christmas,” Mimi continued. “I cooked at Thanksgiving and it was a real success with everyone asking for seconds.”

She added, “Luckily Nick is almost as over-the-top festive as me. One year we hired Santa Claus to come round with real reindeer that looked as if they were going to fly off into the snow at any moment. Everyone loved it.”

Guess the Carey-Cannons really do love Christmas!

The new mom is vacationing at the popular winter destination in keeping with an annual Christmas tradition of hers, and, in addition to her husband Nick Cannon, reportedly brought along her twins Moroccan and Monroe to join in on the fun.

Photogs caught the 41-year-old singer this week as she was doing some shopping and paying a visit to her mom’s Jewelry store.

While performing at the intimate P.C. Richard & Son theater in NYC, the Grammy Award winning crooner thought it would be funny to throw in a little jab at Kim Kardashian, who infamously divorced her husband Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage.

“Ladies and gentleman, I have a very special guest,” the suave singer said (according to the New York Post). “Please welcome Kim Kardashian [to the stage].” When the audience gasped, Bublé bashed their hopes by adding, “Nah, just [bleeping] with you! That bitch isn’t coming on my stage.”

Buble, who has experienced great mainstream success in recent years, selling over 30 million albums worldwide, then dedicated his next song, a cover of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” to Kris.

“She hurt him, she hurt him! I wish she had hurt me!” he sang.

Believe it or not, Michael Buble isn’t the only celebrity firing shots at Kim Kardashian.

At a press conference last week, Mariah Carey made a comment that seemed like she was taking her own jabs at the reality star.

“I’m a real person, I’m not going to put on a fake face for Hollywood,” Carey explained when talking about her life with husband Nick Cannon. “Sometimes we make each other mad, that’s why we aren’t divorced after four months.”

The audience at the press conference immediately burst out into laugther, but Carey later denied in a separate interview that she was talking about Kim.

“First of all, I don’t read the tabloids unless it’s about me,” she told Extra. “And even then, when it is about me, I try not to read it unless it’s good. I don’t look at these people. I don’t even know what it is, but I do know that marriages coma and go really quickly in Hollywood.”

Mariah Carey may not have been making fun of Kim with her statement … but Michael Buble certainly was!

Mariah Carey is proud to show off her post-baby body (or post-babies, we should say) to the world!

The songstress, who gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe back in April, lost a staggering 70 pounds after embarking on the Jenny Craig diet plan, she revealed earlier this week during an appearance on OWN’s “The Rosie Show.”

She is also featured on the cover of the latest issue of US Weekly Magazine, where she proclaims: “I Got My Body Back!” and she explains her easy day-to-day diet plan that helped her lose 30 pounds in just 3 months.

But it wasn’t easy, explains Carey, who admits she was initially worried she would never be the same again after the pregnancy.

She told Rosie O’Donnell, “In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I had so much edema, water and swelling. Most pregnant women have that just in their feet. One day I was doing my thank-yous and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. I didn’t think I would ever be the same person.”

Because she wasn’t able to exercise after having a Caesarian section, Mariah says it was the Jenny Craig diet plan that helped her lose most of her weight.

“The first week, I lost 40 lbs of just water. It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs of weight that needs to be lost,” she explained.

The 42-year-old star also explained how she struggled throughout her pregnancy, and even had trouble on bed rest.

“I had a really tough pregnancy. I was supposed to be on bed rest, but it was so bad then even bed hurt. I learned a lot being pregnant, watching my body change,” she said. “The whole point of this is not just like, ‘Oh hey, look at me and my weight loss, I’m fantastic.’ It’s really healthy. Like I said, I learned it when I became helpless and felt so vulnerable like never before in my life.”

“I learned a lot being pregnant and watching my body change…going ‘Why did I put so many mirrors in this freakin’ house.’ I’m walking past these mirrors and I’m ready to die,” Mariah said with a laugh. “But I left them there. It was what it was.”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon‘s newborn twins Moroccan and Monroe — aka “Dem Babies” — made their big world debut during their parents’ highly publicized interview with Barbara Walters on ABC’s “20/20″ that aired Friday evening (Oct 21).

MiMi and Nick showed off their beautiful babies as they talked about everything in the interview, from being new parents to married life, their struggle to conceive, Carey’s high-risk pregnancy and much more.

“I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” 41-year-old Carey told Walters. “Carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through, because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”

As for Nick, he said he doesn’t want them to follow too much in their famous parent’s footsteps, and he’s already planning ahead for his children’s future, calling the tins “little geniuses.”

“Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers,” Cannon said. “They praise them like they’re royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors. I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them like … ‘Go get a Ph.D.’”

Back in June, Nick Cannon told US Weekly that his son Roc was “laid back like me,” while daughter Roe takes after her mother. “My daughter’s a diva like her mom,” he said.

Rihanna’s first single to enter Top 10 territory was “Pon De Replay” (which peaked at #2 in 2005).

It only took Rihanna 6 years and 4 months to reach 20 Top 10 singles, while it took Madonna 6 years and 9 months (just 5 months longer).

Among all acts, Rihanna’s run to 20 top 10s is the second-fastest. Only the Beatles sprinted to the sum more quickly, taking just two years, seven months and one week between their chart entrance with “I Want to Hold Your Hand” (Jan. 18, 1964) and “Yellow Submarine,” which sailed 52-8 the week of Aug. 27, 1966. All Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber fans are in store for a Merry Christmas.

Yesterday, the R&B diva confirmed in a video message that she and the Biebs recently collaborated on her classic hit “All I Want For Christmas is You,” which will appear on Bieber’s upcoming Christmas album “Under the Mistletoe.”

“I’m very excited about it. Really excited. I think a lot of you are already very surprised by this and you’re going to be even more surprised when you hear it. The song sounds great,” Mariah says in the video message (below).

In addition to Mariah, Busta Rhymes and Boyz II Men will also make guest appearances on Justin’s “Under The Mistletoe” album.

Mariah Carey just gave birth to twins a little less 5 months ago … and she’s already back in the studio working on a new album!

The R&B diva’s longtime producer Jermaine Dupri posted photos of her in the studio with him on his Global 14 website.

“So happy to be back in the studio with the one & only @Mr_Dupri aka Jermash!” Mariah tweeted.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Nick Cannon confirmed that his wife is readying her next album, which will be released near the end of the year.

“She’s been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and [the pregnancy] has totally inspired her on so many different levels,” he said. “You’re definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah.”

The album will serve as the follow-up to her 12th studio album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” (released in 2009) and her second holiday album “Merry Christmas II” (released last year).

Pop diva Mariah Carey has finally returned home with her twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

The singer – who gave birth to the newborns on April 30 – has now left the hospital, and her husband Nick Cannon is overjoyed because for the first time it will just be the four of them with no medical professionals around!

Speaking on the joyous moment this past Saturday, Nick said:

“My twins came home today. It’s a whole other level now because they’re at home. There’s no hospital rooms, and there’s no nurses, it’s just us. So, it’s real. It’s a little scary at times, but we’re handling it.”

Nick claims he has found it particularly hard to be away from the twins, something he wasn’t expecting and recently revealed to ’Access Hollywood’:

“I didn’t know it was going to be this tough to leave home every time! Like, I left the hospital to go to New York to do promotion earlier in the week – that was tough. But I’m dealing with it.”

Mariah is also doing well at home, with Nick adding she was looking “beautiful”.

“She’s up and walking around. It’s beautiful – she’s a mommy!”

Barely new parents Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are reportedly being investigated by Child Protective Services.

A shocking accusation grew that while the couple were in the hospital there was drinking and drugs being consumed. In an interview on “Piers Morgan Tonight”, which aired Thursday, Nick cleared up all the rumours and set the record straight. He explained:

“The Child Protective Services were called with allegations that there was some drinking and drugs and all that going on while in the hospital. A nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness … the yeast improves breast-feeding. I don’t know if someone overheard that, but then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all this stuff”.

Both Monroe and Moroccan Cannon were born on the same day as the couple’s 3rd wedding anniversary. On the following Tuesday, Nick was approached in the hallway of the hospital by a CPS worker:

“Even to have to deal with that, even my wife in the state she’s in, and we’re in the hospital, and to even have to think of someone possibly wanting to investigate your children”.

Cannon went on to say that he understands the celebrity circus, but when it comes to children….a line should not be crossed.

“It’s really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off of newborn babies. I’m more disappointed in society … than having to be it’s because we’re famous. It’s just that people would even go to those lengths to even kind of do something to a family at such a beautiful time in their life”.

Since he’s already got millions in the bank, Nick Cannon can afford to give his blush wife Mariah Carey (whose worth a pretty penny herself) almost anything. Even a necklace worth over $12,000, much like he did this past Mother’s Day!

The “America’s Got Talent” host purchased the the 4-carat diamond and sapphire piece from L.A. boutique Jason of Beverly Hills to commemorate the recent birth of their twin babies, Morrocan & Monroe.

“Nick was really excited about the babies’ names and wanted to do a piece with them fo Mariah’s first Mother’s Day,” jeweler Jason Arasheben told People.

“Nick came in and met with Jason on the Friday after his twins were born,” a source said. “He was bleary eyed, looking so tired but so happy – all smiles, saying he wanted to design something special for Mariah’s first Mother’s Day. He couldn’t wait to surprise her on Sunday.”

Nick just raised the bar for baby fathers all over! Rich bastard.

“So we r bout 2 reveal the actual names and b4 we tell em 2 our friends etc.,” she tweeted earlier this week. “I had 2 C if any of the #lambily wanted 2 guess!!! Both begin w/M’s!!!!”

Now, the R&B diver and her husband of 3 years have finally revealed the “unique” names of the tiny tots.

Carey’s longtime manager Cindi Berger told CNN that Mariah and Nick’s daughter is named Monroe Cannon (after mommy’s idol, Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe), and their son will go by Moroccan Scott Cannon, who is named after the “Moroccan Room” in Mariah’s North-African themed New York apartment. The Moroccan Room is also where dad proposed to mom back in 2008.

The baby boy’s middle name, which he shares with daddy Nick, is also the maiden name of Cannon’s grandmother. Monroe wasn’t given a middle name on account of mommy MiMi not having one either, the superstar’s spokesperson said.

“Dem babies” are finally here. This past Saturday (Apr 30), Pop sensation Mariah Carey didn’t even need to go out and buy hubby Nick Cannon a gift to celebrate their third wedding anniversary, because she gave the young entertainment mogul the best gift there is. The gift of life!

The 42 year old pop diva delivered the precious twins early Saturday afternoon at 12:07 p.m. Eastern at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Carey’s representative, Cindi Berger confirmed the births to the Associated Press, saying the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.

And guessed who predicted it all? Nick! People may be quick to forget, but earlier this year Nick correctly predicted when his twins were set to drop. ”I’m not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so … It’s probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it,” Cannon said Thursday when he guest-hosted ‘The Talk.’ “We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown.”

When asked if Mariah’s pregnancy was planned to coincide with the couple’s anniversary, Berger claimed that it wasn’t. ”No, not even Mariah could plan that,” she said. ”Nick was very nervous and Mariah was completely calm. Mariah thought it was another soft labor and Nick was driving her to the hospital and she very calm and the music was blasting,” she added. “When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and the nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of I Love Lucy,’ and she laughed.”

Playful & goofy radio host Nick Cannon, was joking around on his WXRK 92.3 NOW New York based radio show last week when he “accidentally” ended up blurting out he and his pregnant wife Mariah Carey‘s home phone number live on the air to unsuspecting listeners.

After the incident Nick immediately realized that it was a bad idea and tweeted ”My wife is going to kill me over this. Sometimes I get a little too carried away on the radio,” followed by “Just gave out my home phone # on air and my pregnant wife picked up the line OOPS!”

Nick and Mariah’s humble castle was flooded with phone calls by fans who listened to Nick give out the phone number on his radio show. One fan even got the chance to speak with Mariah when she picked up the phone.

Nick then took to Twitter to thank  his lovely wife for being such a good sport about the whole ordeal, tweeting: “Thanks to my amazing wife for being a good sport and allowing me to make good radio. @MariahCarey you are the best!”

Having parents with the surnames Carey and Cannon, it’s pretty much a given that Nick and Mariah’s double bundles of joy will no doubt be spoiled.

In a recent cover shoot with Life & Style Magazine, the couple let the world peer into the doors of their twins’ nursery and disclosed that they spent $100,000 to deck the digs out!

Mariah said of the expensive space:

“I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualized to celebrate the twins as separate entities. [It was challenging] because I had such specific ideas I wanted implemented. I feel like I’m bringing two individuals into the world, so I wanted to do more than cookie-cutter styles in blue and pink.

The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favorites: Underneath the Stars and Close My Eyes. Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.”

Well according to Nick Cannon, that is NOT the case with his pregnant mogul beau Mariah Carey. In fact, Cannon claims that his amazing wife is one of the most selfless people he knows.

“I’m in awe of my wife,” Cannon, 30, told PEOPLE Friday at NBC Universal’s Summer Press Day at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, Calif. “She is the most beautiful, strong person I’ve ever met. Seeing her go through this and have to literally just relinquish everything that she’s always been, and sacrifice her being for her children is just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

As for Cannon, he, too, is enjoying impending parenthood. “It’s been the most amazing journey I’ve ever been on,” the ‘America’s Got Talent’ host says. “I’ve heard that the journey only gets better, so I can’t wait.”

So, how does Cannon feel about co-parenting with one of the most famous women in the world? “I’m an ordinary guy in an extraordinary situation,” he says. “I got a chance to marry my dream girl. I got a chance to live my dream and entertain people for a living. Everything I do is a blessing. I just wake up happy everyday and I try to spread that joy. If I can make people smile everyday, then I’m doing my job.”

Simon Cowell is teasing us again and this time he’s using singing extraordinaire Mariah Carey to bait us!

During a radio interview with Jackie Brown Simon said: “I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows. I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits.”

So far besides Simon himself, the only other confirmed judge at the X Factor table is music industry veteran L.A. Reid.

Pop sensation Rihanna was asked to be apart of the phenomenon but had to decline due to her busy schedule. She explained: “It’s something that I would have loved to do, actually. But our schedule doesn’t allow it and it’s a demanding schedule to be on that show. You have to be around months at a time, which is impossible for me”.

Other stars that have been linked with the show include the UK’s Cheryl Cole, Jessica Simpson, Paula Abdul, Gloria Estefan and Katy Perry.

Legendary pop diva Mariah Carey is helping her hubby Nick Cannon prepare for his impending fatherhood by letting the young Hollywood mogul hold her “other” twins in the new photo released to the UK edition of OK! Magazine.

Mariah is in the final stages of her pregnancy and is eagerly awaiting the birth of her twins – a boy and a girl – later this month, and she told OK! Magazine that ‘Dem Babies’ are already showing signs of her and Nick’s personalities.

“You can tell the personalities a bit,” explained Mariah. “In viewing our ultrasounds, our boy is all ready like Nick, like, ‘Here I am, take my picture or don’t’. And our girl is coyly facing the other way, like, ‘No pictures,’ waiting for a proper debut. I took some ultrasound footage of them in the womb that I think they’ll definitely find interesting later in life.”

Mariah is also confident that her husband Nick will make a great dad – because he’s already obsessed! “Nick is so excited about being a father. He already has this natural talent with children, they take to him right away. He’s so nurturing, loving and fun. He definitely will be a hands-on dad. He already reads stories to my tummy.”

Remember that babymoon we told you Mariah Carey had for herself as a way to celebrate her pregnancy? Well, Life & Style Magazine was there, along with our friend, multimedia maven B. Scott, who just so happens to be a close friend to MiMi and actually helped her be glamorous for her baby shower.

“I was being bleak. I was totally uninspired to glam it up for the baby shower. Thank God B. Scott came over and found a vintage Cavalli dress in my closet,” Mariah reveals to Life & Style.

Mariah says the photos that were taken that day wouldn’t have even happened if it weren’t for B. Scott’s input. “‘My Mimi must have this moment!’” Mariah says B. Scott told her that day. “‘I can’t sit back in good conscience as your good gay fairy god-sister and let you neglect the glamour, darling. Remember who you are! LOL”

“I’m so grateful to have you here with me,” Mariah told him, “keeping me festive during this pregnancy.”

So how on earth did B. Scott and MiMi get so close?

Pop diva Mariah Carey has prepared for the birth of her twins by indulging in a “babymoon” at a spa with friends.

The singing superstar and her husband Nick Cannon are set to become parents in the next few weeks, and Carey decided to take time out to relax prior to the birth.

Carey tells Life & Style magazine:

“A friend told me that before she had her son, she took a babymoon, which is something I’d never heard of before. Basically, it’s an excuse to do something decadent before the babies arrive! I’m pretty sure most moms-to-be out there understand what I mean when I say that after a while of being pregnant, you start climbing the walls and just want to get out of the house. So I went to an amazing spa on the ocean with a couple of friends and, of course, Cha Cha and the puppies.”

The singer indulged in hearty meals and luxurious spa treatments during the break, and even found time to play board games.

“Since at this point I have to really take it easy, we played board games like Taboo and Catch Phrase, ordered spa food and got as many spa treatments as possible!”

Can’t wait till Mariah finally drops that load. Is it just us or does it feel like she’s been pregnant forever?!?

With his wife’s due date just around the corner, the realities of fatherhood are starting to set in for Nick Cannon. He’ll soon open his home to his two tiny infants — and it sounds like he has started to regret some of his previous decisions.

Earlier in Mariah Carey‘s pregnancy, she and  hubby Nick chose to pose for artistic nude portraits to commemorate the occasion. Now, Cannon is starting to think that was an odd move.

“My children are going to have to see these pictures. It’s a little weird,” Cannon confessed on his radio show Tuesday morning. “It’s a little nasty. I mean, have you ever seen your parents naked? I don’t want my naked booty out there for everyone to see!”

Trust us Nick, we don’t want so see it either.

Mariah confessed to the mag: “I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience. My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.”

“The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable,” Mariah added. “Especially the girl — clearly she’s a diva in training! We didn’t start shooting until 1:30 a.m. because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!

“Now I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who’ve had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples. We need to have Mother’s Day once a week!”

Mariah Carey thought she was going to give birth on her 42nd birthday yesterday (Sun. Mar 27). The Grammy award winning singer had a false alarm after experiencing some labor pains, and was rushed to the hospital. But all is all with mommy-to-be and she isn’t ready to give birth just yet.

The babies, Carey, 42, Tweeted in the early hours of Sunday, “really wanted 2 celebrate w/us/share the anniversary! I started having contractions last night..went 2 the hospital.” Then, she said, “They almost came on 3/27- happy anniversary in deed!!! We have a few more weeks 2 go but- wow!!!: )” (Source)

Nick Cannon and his wife Mariah Carey went from struggling to have a baby, to preparing for a set of twins (a boy AND a girl). As the soon to be father, Nick will be expected to lend a helping hand in the delivery room, but just judging by his Twitter feed, it doesn’t look like daddy-to-be will be much help at all.

“I am probably going to faint in the delivery room! I need to man up!” Nick tweeted. “Or maybe I should say WOMAN UP since they are the ones that have to be the strongest in the whole ordeal! I am in awe of my wife!”

Later that morning, Cannon, who currently hosts a radio morning show, tweeted that his followers have been helpful.

“People listening @923nowfm are trying to give me advice for when that day comes. I’m trying to prepare but I get queezy in Hospitals LOL.”

Despite being pregnant with twins, R&B/Pop diva Mariah Carey is hard at work planning her 14th studio album. In fact, the “Obsessed” singer is said to have declined an offer to appear on X Factor USA because of the forthcoming record.

A source recently revealed to Essence that “X Factor” creator Simon Cowell did in fact offer Carey a position on the panel but she declined, choosing instead to focus on the birth of her twins and starting work on a new LP.

It was also recently reported that Carey is allegedly planning to leave the Universal Music Group on completion of her new album – the final one in her contract – and return to former label Sony Music.

This past Sunday, proud parents-to-be Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon held their first ever baby shower, and as expected were showered with lavish and fabulous gifts. However, it was one gift in particular that really stood out to Carey.

“The Always Be My Babies ‘Lamb Book’ is definitely my new prized possession and I can’t thank the Lambs around the world enough for your letters & well wishes,” Carey, who often calls her most dedicated fans “lambs,” wrote on her official Web site Monday.

The book cover is illustrated with a blue and a pink baby carriage, along with family photos of Mariah and Nick. It was created using short letters and poems her fans wrote to the babies.

“We so had a ‘moment’ in the middle of the shower when they presented the book to me and everyone thought it was the cutest, most thoughtful thing ever!” Carey recalled. “Clearly, only the Lambs would swing something like that home!!! It was the best moment of the night. I can’t wait for the twins to read the messages and feel the love!!! : )”

Pretty dope gift. A Maserati would’ve been doper, but dope gift nonetheless.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated the upcoming arrival of their twins with an extravagant blue and pink baby shower last night (Sun. Mar 6) at the Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

The future mommy and daddy arrived in style in Carey’s Rolls-Royce (a Christmas present from Cannon) and were joined by family and close friends, including “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson.

The adults-only shower had a warm and romantic atmosphere with small cocktail tables that were decorated with pink roses and blue hydrangeas. (They are expecting a boy and a girl.) Pink and blue balloons also dotted the private event. “Mariah has been anxiously awaiting her shower, and she was very excited when she arrived at the hotel,” says a source. “She couldn’t wait to celebrate her baby twins with her friends.”

Carey and Cannon received many pink-and-blue-wrapped presents and several lavish gifts, including two almost life-size stuffed giraffes and two chairs hand-made for the twins. Guests nibbled on gourmet appetizers and sipped Angel champagne.

“Mariah had the best time at her shower,” says the source. “She was very touched by how nicely everything turned out and excited about all the generous gifts she received. She has been feeling a bit tired and worn out lately, but the shower was an event that she really enjoyed and that made her very happy. Now she can’t wait to meet her baby twins!”

This is something new: artists actually bragging about giving money back!

Pop diva Mariah Carey, who recently came  under fire for accepting “blood” money for her private performances for Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi, is the latest musical figure to speak out against Gadhafi and his tyrannial ways.

The R&B songstress states that she was unaware that her performance fee was being provided by the Libyan dictator, and is embarrassed to be linked to him.

“I was naive and unaware of who I was booked to perform for. I feel horrible and embarrassed to have participated in this mess,” the pregnant songbird said in a statement to AP. “Going forward, this is a lesson for all artists to learn from. We need to be more aware and take more responsibility regardless of who books our shows. Ultimately, we as artists are to be held accountable.”

The mother- to-be sang for the ruthless Gadhafi family back in 2008 in St. Barts for an undisclosed sum.

Carey’s representative went on to assert that in order to make up for her performance at the dictator funded show, Mariah will be donating all the royalties earned from her upcoming song “Save the Day” to charities to create awareness for human rights issues.

“Mariah has and continues to donate her time, money, and countless hours of personal service to many organizations both here and abroad,” said her publicist Cindi Berger.

Yesterday afternoon, Beyoncé revealed that she had already donated  the ill gotten gains from her private performance for Gadhafi to charity, while Nelly Furtado pledged to donate her paycheck earlier this week.

What do Mariah Carey, Usher, Beyonce and 50 Cent have in common? These  musical heavyweights are among the artists being pressured to return money received after performing for Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi and his family members.

According to RollingStone, Carey was reportedly paid a whopping $1 million to sing for Qaddafi’s son, Muatassim, Libya’s national-security adviser, at a New Year’s Eve party in St. Bart’s back in 2008. Back in 2005 50 Cent performed for Qaddafi’s son, and Beyonce and Usher performed at a party in 2009 — all for undisclosed sums of money.

But why on earth would such prominent artists play for such a controversial family? R.E.M. agent Buck Williams thinks some might not have known whom they were playing for.

“Ninety percent of the time the artist has no clue… But the majority of my artists, if they knew something was funded by Qaddafi, they would not play it, and morally it would not rest well with them.”

Dennis Arfa, agent for major artists like Metallica, Billy Joel and Rod Stewart, had a somewhat different opinion.

“I don’t think most artists go into [performing at a party like this] with that kind of in-depth focus, [of] how each country is governed and what goes on inside each country. Not every artist is a humanitarian. In more cases than not, for people, greed rules.”

Following Libya’s bloody uprising which left 1,000 Libyans dead, the Obama Administration has asked Qaddafi to step down after 40 years of dictatorship.

We wouldn’t hold our breaths on 50 & Co. handing over that hard earned cash though!

“It’s all about pink and blue these days. It’s truly going to be a dream come true for them. They get a son and daughter,” a friend of the couple told the mag.

Mariah has also confirmed the news.

“Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything genderneutral because I didn’t want to impose an identity on them too soon. There were fan contests on Twitter about what gender they are and rumors about them being two boys or two girls — but nobody guessed this!”

Wow….these two are really in for handful! With twins… you get double the trouble. (LOL)

Mariah Carey paid a quick visit to her doctor in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon (Jan 6) for a routine check-up regarding her pregnancy. The R&B diva will be giving birth to twins this coming spring, and recently revealed that she and her husband Nick Cannon have already picked out names for the babies, but they want them to be a surprise.

In other Carey-Cannon news, Nick Cannon purchased his pregnant wife a $400,000 Rolls Royce Phantom for Christmas.

The annual Disney Christmas Parade aired over the weekend on ABC, just in time for Christmas! And of the many performers who took the stage included singers Mariah Carey and Selena Gomez.

MC gave a rendition of “Oh Santa” (a track from her new Merry Christmas II You album) along “All I Want for Christmas is You” (from her 1994 Merry Christmas album), while Selena Gomez performed the classic Christmas song “Winter Wonderland.”

Mariah Carey performed for the President and his family at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. for TNT‘s Christmas in Washington 2010 television special. The R&B diva sang two songs for the crowd: “One Child” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” as President Obama, the First Lady and the First Children and others looked on.

The concert, which aired on cable TV over the weekend (Fri. Dec 17), also featured a performance from R&B singer Maxwell, who delivered flawless renditions of the classic Christmas tunes “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Silent Night.”

The cat’s out of the bag! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon will be welcoming not just one baby, but TWO babies, when Mariah gives birth sometime next spring.

According to People.com, after basically lying to the world, Nick Cannon finally put the rumors to rest Thursday (Dec 16) on his radio show when he told listeners: “We are having twins.”

The two have been cautious about revealing too many details since they’ve had a “long journey” to parenthood, which included a miscarriage in 2008. But when President Barack Obama happened to ask about her pregnancy, Carey just couldn’t keep a secret.

While performing at TNT’s Christmas in Washington 2010 on Sunday, Carey ran into President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama backstage. “They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, ‘So, what are you having, are you having twins?’ ” Cannon said Thursday morning on his 92.3 Rollin’ With Nick Cannon radio show.

“And at this point she hadn’t told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along,” he said. “And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed [and] she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.” (Source)

Nick and Mariah still haven’t revealed a due date, but the way they’re slowly leaking information these days, we wouldn’t be surprised if they spilled the beans sometime early next year.

Mariah Carey‘s Christmas-themed TV special, titled “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You,” aired last night on ABC.

The event was taped last month at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, and showed MiMi as she performed songs from both her holiday albums (Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You), including a duet of “O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus” with her mother, professional opera singer Patricia Carey.

Stars attended the taping of Christmas in Washington 2010 at the National Building Museum on Sunday (Dec 12).

Mariah Carey, who is pregnant with Nick Cannon‘s child, was there to serenade the Presidential family and guests of the event with some Holiday songs accompanied by a choir. The show was hosted by funny gal Ellen DeGeneres, who is seen standing next to Mariah sharing laughs and seemingly going in to touch her growing belly. A rub for luck?
