Rapper Ludacris was spotted at a party for La Senza (lingerie company in Canada) enjoying some hors d’oeuvres and wine in Toronto over the weekend. Pretty random, I’d say!

Popular music producer Sean Garrett is coming out with his own album, and you can peep the video for his new single featuring ATL rapper Ludacris, Grippin on My Bed above.
I’m not totally against songwriters and producers coming out with their own material, but some should just stay behind the scenes. And Sean “The Pen” Garrett is one of them. But he’s still a bomb-ass songwriter! He just needs to stick to producing and writing for other artists.
Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP), Ludacris’ Atlanta-based record label, has re-signed a long term distribution deal with Antonio “L.A.” Reid’s Island Def Jam Music Group. This officially lays to rest any rumors that had previously stated that Def Jam had dropped DTP, and all of its artists, from their roster.
“The Atlanta Hip-Hop scene and the Dirty South movement in general owe more than they can ever repay to Chris,†Reid said in a statement. “Our friendship stretches back more than a decade and I never cease to be amazed at his imagination, creativity, and most of all his outrageous sense of humor.
“Now changing business conditions necessitate that we review our respective rosters and focus to ensure that future opportunities and challenges are aggressively achieved,” Reid continued. “Ludacris has built Disturbing Tha Peace into one of the iconic names in hip-hop, one that will remain an important part of the Island Def Jam family.”
While it is clear that DTP will still be backed by Def Jam, the status of their R&B artists - Shareefa, Steph Jones, and Bobby Valentino - is unclear at this moment.
‘How We Do It In The A’ featuring Ludacris is said to R&Ber Lloyd’s first single from his forthcoming album due out later this year. The song has a nice synth sound and “knock” to it (Ludacris), I really like it! I get this whole Michael Jackson-vibe with Lloyd, not that it’s a bad thing, but I can totally picture this record being for him. Maybe that’s why I like it so much? If Lloyd and Luda can put together a stellar dance video with this - like a little tribute thing to MJ - I’m sold I tell you! Do you think this song has enough potential to put ATL back on the map once again? Let me know, y’all! Oh and someone asked the question, “how could I preview the song before I download it?” When you go to the page link click on ‘zSHARE’ as one of the dl links and you can hear a stream of the song before you dl it, bb!

LUDACRIS HIT WITH A LAWSUIT » Three producers from Chester, Pennsylvania, are claiming that Ludacris stole their track and used it on his hit album “The Red Light District.” The lawsuit alleges that “Boogiii Men Entertainment Group” sent a CD of beats to the Atlanta-bred rapper’s Disturbing Tha Peace record label back in 2004. And apparently one of those beats ended up setting the groundwork for Ludacris’ hit single “Get Back,” which only cited The Medicine Men and Tic Toc as the song’s producers.
The three producers who make up Boogiii Men Entertainment Group, Damon “Damethegreat” Mayfield, Markus “Vincent” Vick, and Anthony Turner, attempted to contact the label but were met with lukewarm responses, the lawsuit states. So now the three men, who have worked with artists like Juelz Santanta, Rampage of Flipmode Squad, Charli Baltimore, and more, are suing Ludacris and his label for copyright infringement. We took you guys behind the scenes, and now we’re bringing you the finished product. Here’s the video for DJ Felli Fel’s debut single, “Get Buck in Here,” which features Diddy, Akon, Ludacris, and Lil Jon. Jermaine Dupri’s short ass even makes a cameo in the video. All they need is a hook from T-Pain and a verse from Lil’ Wayne, and they’re set! I have a feeling an unnecessary remix will be released pretty soon. Mark my words.
On a side-note, I wonder what the budget for this video was. $15, some food stamps, and left-over peach cobbler from Christmas? I don’t have a problem with “green screen videos.” But if you’re gonna do it, do it right!
(UPDATED) OPEN QUESTION: Am I the only one who noticed that DJ Felli Fel kat in “Malibu’s Most Wanted?” You know, the scene with Mike Epps when B-Rad (lol) is free-styling at that club. I just noticed that today (Jan. 26th) when it aired on Comedy Central!
