The ladies love cool James (photographed with Rev. Run above) and so does the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding. The non-profit organization, which aims to promote black-Jewish and Muslim-Jewish relations, presented rapper LL Cool J with the Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Award in honor of his contributions to race relations at a glitzy party at Russell Simmons‘ home in New York Monday night. Russell Simmons said he was more than happy to give LL the honor.

“LL has long history of social and political activism. He is one person who is not recognized enough for his gifts,” Russell Simmons told AllHipHop.com. “I’m very happy to have honored him for his many contributions.”

If you haven’t heard yet, Katt Williams was nixed from his hosting duties, and T-Pain filled in for the comedian at the last minute. BET made up some bogus story talking about how Katt bet T-Pain he couldn’t beat him in a break dance battle, and how Katt’s hosting duties were up for grabs to whoever won. It later came to light that Williams had been arrested on the morning of the show. Sound familiar, anyone? *Cough* T.I. *cough* got arrested *cough* last year *cough* and he was *cough* supposed to perform. I’m just saying…
