Keyshia Cole Celebrates Her 30th Birthday with Husband Daniel Gibson and Manager Kevin Liles [PHOTOS]

Keyshia Cole was joined by her husband Daniel Gibson and her manager Kevin Liles as the R&B singer celebrated her 30th birthday with an 80′s themed birthday party attended by friends and family in Cleveland this past weekend.

Keyshia was dressed up as Madonna back in her “Material Girl” days, while hubby Daniel and manger Kevin paid homage to 80′S Hip-Hop with their Adidas track-suits.

Meanwhile, Keyshia is said to be currently working on her next album, titled “Woman To Woman,” which will drop in February and will feature a collaboration with Trey Songz. She recently tweeted:

MY NEW TEAM IS GR8. I will name them all very soon. New team. New life. New album. My child. My husband. 30?s are the new 20?s LOL. AND SO FORTH AND SO ON. HA

Keyshia Cole and Daniel Gibson Have Second Wedding in Hawaii [PHOTOS]

They just got married in Vegas 4 months ago, but that didn’t stop Keyshia Cole and her husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson from renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii in front of their close friends and family this past Sunday (Sep 25).

Cole’s sister Elite, their mother Frankie and plenty other friends and family were flown out to the island ceremony, which came just four months after Cole and Gibson eloped in Las Vegas back in May.

The blushing bride, who gave birth to the couple’s son Daniel Jr. in March 2010, wrote in a tweet to fans Monday, “My husband wanted me to have my dream wedding so he flew all of our family members here. He’s giving (me) something I will never forget! Amazing!”

The entire wedding weekend, including the big ceremony, was filmed by a camera crew and will be featured on Cole’s new reality TV show “Family First,” which is scheduled to debut in February 2012. No word on what network the show will air on.

Keyshia Cole Preparing New Album for Release in February 2012

R&B songstress Keyshia Cole revealed on Twitter that she has hit the studio and is already prepping a new album!

After releasing her 4th studio album “Calling All Hearts” last December, the Oakland native has been writing new material with known hit making queen Ester Dean, and will collaborate soon with Boi-1da, who has Eminem and Drake credits.

Ms Cole says that the project in unlike any other. “I’m in love with these songs I’ve recorded. REAL TALK,” she tweeted.

The project is yet to be titled, and Keyshia’s camp is looking at an early 2012 release date.

Aaliyah Remembered on the 10th Anniversary of Her Death by Brandy, Monica, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, Drake, Damon Dash, DMX and More

Today marks a sad day in the music industry: the 10th anniversary of Aaliyah’s tragic death.

10 years ago today, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, the young R&B singer known worldwide as Aaliyah, was tragically killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas, putting a sad end to a promising career.

Just before her untimely passing, Aaliyah (born in Brooklyn, and raised in Detroit) had just released her third, self-titled album and had filmed the music video for the project’s second single “Rock the Boat.”

She was also in the middle of filming a new movie “Queen of the Damned,” following her blockbuster debut in “Romeo Must Die.” (FYI: Aaliyah was also in negotiations to star in the “Matrix” as well as “Honey” and a re-make of “Sparkle.”)

But all of that was cut short on August 25th 2001 when Aaliyah, who was 22 at the time, and members of her entourage died after their plane crashed shortly after take-off from the Bahamas following the “Rock the Boat” video shoot.

Though Aaliyah was only able to release three albums during her short time here with us, each one left a significant impact on the music scene then, and still shows its influences today.

“I met Aaliyah when I was about 15 [yrs old]. It was I think at a rehearsal for the Soul Train Awards and someone introduced us. I was so excited to meet her because she was the first girl on the scene. She came out before Monica and I did, she was our inspiration. At the time, record companies did not believe in kid acts and it was just inspiring to see someone that was winning and winning being themselves. When I met her I embraced her, I was so happy to meet her. I told her how much I loved her. She said the same thing about me and we connected. It was a great moment I’ll never forget.

“We [later] performed at a radio event together. I remember going on before her and I could see her in a section where they kept the artists and she was just bobbing her head, really being supportive. It felt like [there] was no competition, or any of that. She was just very, very supportive. Then when she got on to perform, the entire place was singing her songs word for word, and so I was I. I was trying to sing louder than everybody else so she can hear that I knew her stuff and that I was being just as supportive as she was to me.

“There was a moment when I won at, I think, [Soul Train] Lady of Soul [Music Awards]. She sent me flowers saying how proud she was and ‘congratulations.’ I just thought that was so angelic and sweet of her. People say that Aaliyah is angelic and that just made me feel like ‘wow, that’s a moment.’ Other artists supporting another artist when everybody’s trying to put you against each other, which was very special. I was like ‘whoa, that’s really big of her.’”

Monica

“The first time I met her, she was extremely quiet. You [weren't] going to get a lot of words out of Aaliyah in a first meeting. It takes a lot of time for her to warm up to people because she had this shyness… I’ve never seen [Missy Elliott] in the type of turmoil and pain that she was in after Aaliyah passed because there’s no replacing the type of friendship that her and Missy had.”

Ciara

“She was true to who she was and she didn’t seem to care about it. The core of her art is to me, heavily, heavily, urban based… It never felt like she was trying to reach across or do anything more than just keep that cool, soulful, heavy, urban core about it… I really respect that and I appreciate that.”

Estelle

“Her purity of voice was incredible… Her vocals and style is what had her stand out above and beyond everyone. When I listen to her voice now, I think, ‘She was killing it. She was a beast.’”

“When I found out that she [had] passed that night, I just cried [while] on the tour bus. That’s amazing for someone to have that affect on other people’s lives. I think why it affected me so much without me knowing her is because she seemed to have a beautiful soul.

“[There was] something about her spirit. She connected before reality TV, before any of that happened in our era. It was something about her that made you connect to her. She seemed like she had a beautiful soul.”

When you’re with someone like that you buy into a life of being separate, but again, I couldn’t help my feelings.

“The energy we created together for people to observe was kind of crazy. We’d be in a room full of people talking to each other and it felt like everyone was listening but it would be just us. It would be like we were the only ones in the room. It was like something was going down in history every time I was with her. Every time I was around her I felt it was the place to be.

“Our time together meant so much that when we got more time, we felt like that [engagement] would be next. She was one of the best people I ever met. Even with the pain I felt, I would do it all over again.”

Ginuwine

“The state of R&B in the ’90s, where she stood, she was second to none. She was pretty much the top female. It was a new sound, the production from Timbaland. Everyone had to pay attention. That was just a time I would love to go back to you. Everything was all about us, and it was all about Aaliyah. It would just set her apart from everyone in the ’90s…we came at a great time.”

“When I was on tour her and Joel Silver came to my dressing room to see if I wanted to be a part of the movie. Most people would have their people call, but she came herself.

“I’m like, ‘Is this a trick question? You have to ask me if I want to be in a movie with Aaliyah? Hell yeah.’ We [then] met up in Vancouver to [do] Romeo Must Die. She had a presence on TV that was incredible. It was sexy but kind of gangster.

“We did the [Back in One Piece] video in Mount Vernon and Yonkers. I got to bring Aaliyah to the hood. Not many people can say that. She was easy to talk to and down to earth. Aaliyah made you feel comfortable, with her and with yourself. That’s one hell of a combination.”

“Half these chicks that are doing it right now wouldn’t be doing it [if she were still here]. Aaliyah would be on top. As far as I’m concerned she’s still on top.

Keyshia Cole may be on her way to making a solid comeback!

The R&B singer — who part ways with her longtime manager Manny Haley at the top of the year — revealed via Twitter that she is now under new management through industry executive Kevin Liles.

Kevin Liles, former executive president of Warner Music Group, has helped lead and guide the careers of many industry heavyweights including rappers Jay-Z and Ludacris. Shortly after he left WMG, Liles began managing R&B singer Trey Songz and helped take his career to the next level.

This past weekend, R&B vocalist Keyshia Cole married her longtime fiance, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers in a private ceremony out in Las Vegas.

Cole, 29, and Gibson, 25, celebrated their joyous occasion in a helicopter ride high above Sin City on Saturday night (May 21).

“It’s OFFICIAL!!!!! #Done & #TrulyBlessed.. Mr. & Mrs. Gibson. We appreciate all the Well Wishes!” tweeted Gibson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. “One of the Best nights of our Lives.. #NoQuestion.”

The young couple got engaged back in January 2010 after a brief 12 month courtship. They have a 14-month-old son, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr.

Keyshia Cole & Trina Not Feeling BET Awards Snub

Yesterday afternoon the nominations for the 2011 BET Awards were announced, and longtime musical talents like Keyshia Cole and Trina were noticeably not among the names called. This overlook didn’t sit too well with the ladies who expressed their disappointments via their Twitter accounts.

Cole didn’t bear any ill will toward the awards show despite her snub in all categories including Best Female R&B Artist.

“Its like this. Been on the scene 7 years. I was 21 when I got signed. 7 # 1 records. No awards 4 none of them/still touring. It is Wht it is,” tweeted Keyshia. “These types of thing R the way they R. I’m not upset about any of it in any way. I hope everyone that goes has a wonderful time.”

However, Trina’s response was a bit more brash and direct. “fuck BET……” fired off an upset Trina.

The Miami bred femcee was excluded in the category of Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, although she released her album Amazin’ last year.

Earlier this morning, Keyshia added her additional thoughts about the snub, tweeting,

“That awkward moment when u realize in everyone’s eyes your not the sh*t anymore. #POW. I’ve officially got the memo. Thank mtv/bet.”

Keshia Cole‘s mother Frankie is back in jail again (for the umpteenth time)!

“Celebrity Rehab” star Frankie Lons — the mother of singer Keyshia Cole — is back in jail this morning … after cops say they found her in possession of “drug-related material” … TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement tells us … cops stopped Frankie for a routine traffic violation yesterday when they noticed an active warrant out for her arrest stemming from a probation violation.

We’re told cops then performed a search — and found “drug-related material” on her person.

Lons was arrested and transported to a nearby jail — where she was booked for the probation violation and misdemeanor possession of drug-related material.

This morning, Lons is still in custody.

Keyshia Cole Fires Longtime Manager Manny Halley After Poor Album Sales

Following poor sales of her newly released album Calling All Hearts, Keyshia Cole has decided to give her longtime manager his walking papers.

Taking to her Twitter page yesterday (Tue. Jan 18) the R&B singer announced that she has fired her manager Manny Halley, who made several appearances on her BET reality show “The Way It Is.”

“Would like for u guys to know that Manny Halley is no longer my management. Someone said if the people around u won’t change, change the people around you. If you always do what you always did. You’ll always get wht you always got….. Stop being afraid. Its ok to change for the better. Trust me,”Keyshia Cole wrote to her followers on Twitter.

News of Keyshia Cole giving her manager a pink slip comes just weeks after her fourth studio album came into the Billboard 200 chart at a low number its first week of release.

To date, the album hasn’t even reached 200K copies sold yet, which isn’t at all normal for Cole, whose previous three albums have all went platinum.

Stars like Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker, and more, walked the red carpet before making their way into the Warner Theater for the ceremony.

The pre-recorded show, hosted by Gabrielle Union, also featured performances by Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo and Tank, as well as appearances by supermodel Iman, writer/director Tyler Perry and others. The 2011 BET Honors air on TV next month (Mon. Feb 21) at 9pm.

Keyshia Cole Regrets Releasing “I Ain’t Thru” as Her New Album’s Lead Single

Keyshia Cole is used to putting out hits, and admits that releasing “I Ain’t Thru” to promote her new album Calling All Hearts was a terrible idea.

In a recent interview with AP, the R&B songstress said that she wanted to make a statement with the Nicki Minaj featured feel good track, however her label didn’t agree that it should be released as the first single because they felt as though a more soulful record would do better on the charts.

So against their wishes, Cole made an executive decision and put it out anyway. And then unfortunately……it flopped, never even cracking the Billboard Hot 100.

“The label didn’t really want to drop the record because they knew… that people wanted a more intense, soulful record from me about love and I really should have followed [its] direction,” Keyshia said.

She added: “But I wanted that to be a statement record. It’s like saying, ‘I’m doing me’, you know. I don’t have no regrets for nothing that I’m doing. I just think that people expect me to be, you know, an artist that sings about just love. But I’m always growing as an artist and I have to feed my artistry.”

Thankfully for Keyshia though, she says “people are gravitating more toward” toward the follow-up single, the mid-tempo ballad “Long Way Down”, because of how it focuses on love.

“Calling All Hearts” is in stores now.

Keyshia Cole Performs a “Calling All Hearts” Mini-Concert on BET’s 106 & Park

With the help of New York City radio station Hot 97, Nicki Minaj promoted the release of her debut album Pink Friday with a concert at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC Thanksgiving night (Thurs. Nov 25). The Young Money rapper was joined on-stage by her collaborators Kanye West, Rihanna and Keyshia Cole, as well as her labelmate Drake, and rappers Fabolous and Busta Rhymes.

“I had recorded it as one of the first songs on the album, but I never really finished it,” Keyshia explained to MTV News on the set of the video. “And then I called [Nicki] and I was like, ‘We should do a song together.’ And when she came through I played it. I said, ‘I did something a long time ago and I don’t know if you might like it, but my manager thinks this is dope.’ And I played it and she liked it.”

The song, the video and Keyshia’s new album all mark the R&B singer’s return to the music scene after taking a break to get pregnant and engaged. Keyshia got engaged to Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson in January of this year, and gave birth to the couple’s first child Daniel Jr. a few months later in March.

Keyshia Cole‘s notoriously sober(?) jokester of a mother Frankie Lons and the self-proclaimed world’s first supermodel Janice Dickinson will join the cast this year. The two are no strangers to reality TV and will be pure entertainment to watch in a rehab setting. Fans of Frankie will most definitely have quotes like “Code 10!” and “Man down!” to look forward to.

Rapper Eminem rocked the 2010 BET Awards stage last night, along with fellow Hip-Hop artist B.o.B and R&B singer Keyshia Cole, who both opened up Em’s set with a surprise duet performance of “Airplanes (Part 2).”

As Keyshia worked the stage, B.o.B played the piano before jumping up to begin his own verse for the duet. And after that, Em came out to rap his verse before leading into his latest single “Not Afraid,” which comes from his new album Recovery (in stores now).

Keyshia Cole Sued by Promoter in Jersey, and the Judge Called Her Illiterate?!?

Keyshia Cole was recently sued by an event promoter in New Jersey who claims the R&B songstress blew off an appearance back in 2006 after she was paid $15 grand up front. Keyshia ultimately lost the case, and the judge called Keyshia’s testimony “nonsensical” and accused her of being “illiterate!”

The judge not only ruled against Cole, but she blasted the singer in her written opinion, saying Cole’s testimony was “confused and at times nonsensical.” But the judge’s biggest shot: Cole appeared so reluctant to read certain documents while testifying, “that it appears at times that she was not literate.” Eventually, the judge realized Cole was literate — when Cole managed to read documents that she thought helped her case.

Keyshia was ordered to pay $160,000 in damages.

According to the homie FreddyO, R&B singer Keyshia Cole and her fiance, basketball player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson (of the Cleveland Cavaliers) welcomed their son into the world today! Tresa Sanders, Keyshia’s publicist, confirmed the news to AP and said that his name was Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr., and at birth he was 7 pounds 3 ounces.

The homies Keyshia Cole and Daniel “Boobie” Gibson (her fiance) had their baby earlier this morning. Keyshia is in good spririts and is so happy its over and the baby is here. I was told by my sources that she is ready to start a new life and will be taking off a little time for her baby boy. Keyshia and Boobie are with their family in Cleveland, OH.

Keyshia Cole Turned Down Watching Monica’s Childbirth Video

In a recent interview with our friends over at Rap-Up.com, Monica revealed that Keyshia turned down an offer to watch her live child birth video on account of her not wanting to be scared before she herself goes into labor. The BFFs have both turned their lives around and experienced the ups and downs of fame. “We wanted to live a different life and be an example for something different than what we may have represented before,” Monica tells Rap-Up.com. “So our bond is way beyond what people see.”

Aside from starring on BET reality shows, the ladies share a lot in common. “[Keyshia's] one of my absolute best friends,” the “Everything to Me” songstress reveals. “She’s my youngest son’s godmother. And now I’m watching her experience something else that I have which is pregnancy.”

R&B singer Keyshia Cole‘s younger sister Elite got a little mess started last night on Twitter when she sent out a tweet congratulating Keyshia on being a mom, leading people to believe that she had given birth. Several hours later Elite got back on the popular social networking site letting people know that she was just testing people to see how it would go and if it would spread to the blogs.

Well, mission accomplished. It did. And now you’ve got people all confused. If you want your sister back in your life, this is definitely not the way to go.

Meanwhile, Monica confirmed on Twitter that KC is still pregnant and does NOT have a Twitter account.

Last month, Keyshia put out a statement saying that she isn’t in contact with her mother or her sisters so that she could find some peace with her and her new family.

It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. Yesterday, Keyshia Cole‘s mother, Frankie went on The Ryan Cameron Show and said that Keyshia and her new fiance, NBA star Daniel Gibson are already married. Well since then, KC has decided to finally release an overdue statement via FreddyO.com about her current relationship with her family (including her sisters Neffe and Elite). Here’s her statement:

To all my friends and fans,

It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online. Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It’s very important to both Daniel and I. My plate is very full; I have a new baby coming, we are planning our wedding and I am working in the studio on a new album that I am close to completing. The stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it’s not what I need at this time in my life. Please understand that there are only a few people that can officially confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life and that’s me, Daniel, and my publicist, Tresa Sanders. We’re so glad that Keyshia finally cleared the air about her family. We can’t blame her for cutting Frankie and her sisters off. She’s done a lot for them and there definitely comes a time when you have to stop helping and let people help themselves. Confirmed: Keyshia Cole and Her Boyfriend Daniel “Boobie” Gibson Are Engaged!

Keyshia Cole‘s boyfriend Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, who plays basketball for the Cleveland Cavaliers, proposed to her on New Year’s Eve, says a source who revealed the information to Media Take Out yesterday and presented her with a 10 karat diamond engagement ring worth over $800 grand!

Shortly after the clock struck 12:00 for the new year, Daniel got down on one knee, and gave Keyshia a 10 carat FLAWLESS diamond engagement ring MediaTakeOut.com’s insider claims that Keyshia was taken by surprise by everything. She immediately said YES and broke down and started crying tears of joy. The insider explained, “Keyshia loves Daniel, and know she wants to be married – but she didn’t want to pressure him. Rumors have been circulating about my homie Keyshia Cole being pregnant, well I am here to confirm that she is, she should be around 4-5 months now. Keyshia was out at a Cav’s game supporting her man Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, and was sporting a very visible baby bump. Keyshia has been on hiatus for a minute and just wants her fans to know its not permanent. She has been having some me time and enjoying her new family and her boo. I was also told that it was going to a baby boy…

R&B singer Keyshia Cole and her man Daniel “Boobie” Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers gave away turkeys and groceries to needy families at Bethany Baptist Church in Cleveland a couple of weeks ago. Now, that’s all fine and dandy, but homegirl’s belly definitely looks a bit rounder than usual … and she has been spending a lot of time in Cleveland lately. And let’s not forget how she’s been MIA these past few months, which makes everything add up to her being pregnant. Why else would she be hiding?

We’d also like to throw in this little gem we grabbed from our homie Necole Bitchie, which basically confirms it all.

“Necole, I am from Cleve and was at that event as a volunteer for one of the companies giving away food. And she is def pregnant. They were instructing people to shoot the upper body only. I saw it with my own 2 eyes. This event was in the Steeleyard Commons. And a guy that works in the Beachwood mall told us he had seen her in the LV store and she was big. And that was prior to me seeing her myself.” -via comments

And if that’s not enough evidence, a friend of mine who lives in Cleveland called yesterday after he saw my post and said that he saw Keyshia Cole at a game recently and her stomach was huge.
