Kelis was in Las Vegas last night (Apr 1) to host and perform at TAO Nightclub at the Venetian.

The R&B singer, who entertained the Sin City crowd with a set list that included her hit single “Milkshake” as well as some of her newer material from her latest album, is also in town to shoot a video with Scottish singer DJ Calvin Harris for his new single.

According to TMZ, Nas has caught a big break on his child and spousal support obligations.

The emcee was originally ordered to pay $50,000 per month….but that now has been cut in HALF!

He now owes $5,000 a month in child support, and $20,000 a month in spousal support.

Guess that’s better than what it was…

The star is now rocking blonde hair and looked fashionable in a mesh top and pink cheetah print leggings. Her latest album Flesh Tone is in stores now.

Singer Kelis may be on to a comeback!

In a recent interview, Kelis revealed that her break from the music industry allowed her to fall back in love with making music all over again. Check out what she said, along with a recent televised performance of her new single when you continue reading below!

“It was great. As artists and musicians I think we forget that there’s a whole world of people out there who don’t know or really care about what it is we do, and their lives continue on. It was nice just to step away and do something else. It was important – it brought me back to be able to do this for love again.”

“Honestly it’s been great. It’s funny – it takes a minute to get back into the swing of things with performing, and as you perform the music takes on its own life. There’s a moment in the studio when you’re working and… it’s like a eureka moment when you’re working. Then it lays dormant for a while, and then you get out on the road and you see what works and what doesn’t. Something that might feel good in the studio might be a complete bore on stage. You hear notes you never heard before and wish you said this instead of that.”

Meanwhile, the R&B singer recently made a promotional appearance for her new album on the UK’s “Alan Titschmarsh Show,” and performed her latest single “Scream” for the first time on TV. Peep the performance below:

We don’t think we’ve ever seen an album flop this hard! According to Hits Daily Double, Kelis‘ new album Flesh Tone sold a dismal 7,833 copies its first week on the charts, coming in at #46. The album was preceded by the single “Acapella”, which hit number one on the Billboard Dance Chart.

This is extremely bad news for Kelis seeing as this is her first album on her new label and because of the fact that she actually did promotion for the single. But maybe this is karma for clearing out Nas’ bank account.

We all know that Kelis and Nas‘ divorce was recently made final and there was a lot of chatter about Nas being late on child support payments, which typically pisses most mothers off and put them in pit-bull mode. Well, Kelis is taking the high road now. Instead of bad mouthing Nas in the press, she has decided to refrain from doing so for the sake of their child. Here’s what Kelis told The Associated Press:

“My kid is the center of my world. I don’t leave him ever. I take him with me everywhere. I was married. It didn’t work out. The most amazing thing came out of it. I am good with that. (Knight) will never read anywhere that I said anything negative about his father. It doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. Because at the end of the day he needs to know he did come from love.”

We commend Kelis for being mature about this. She could have easily used an attack on Nas as a way to stay in the media and raise relevancy for herself and her new album. But she didn’t. Good girl!

“Everything’s fine. We are divorced, but there is no point to fighting – there is nothing to fight about. I am super happy; my life is awesome. We are friends, we get along now and it’s all good.

“After (the split), everyone was like, ‘You are going through a rough time, you should write something personal.’ I wear my feelings on my sleeve. The hardest decisions are the best ones and for me that was really the case. I am definitely better today than I was a year ago. And I’ll be better next year.”

We don’t know about Nas, but it’d be hard for us to be cool with someone who was trying to wipe our bank account CLEAN and keep us from seeing our kid. Don’t you think? It’s hard to believe that after all that, Nas and Kelis have “nothing to fight about” and “are friends.”

Singer Kelis lights up the sky like the fourth of July in her new music video for “4th of July (Fireworks),” the latest single from her soon-to-be released fifth studio album Flesh Tone. Kelis’ new clip, co-directed by the R&B singer herself, shows her and her unique fashion sense as she splashes around in a pond, dances in the desert and gyrates through a room filled with fiery flames (in no specific order).
