LOS ANGELES // SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH 2008 » I didn’t really get a chance to sit down and watch the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, so I can’t really tell you what went down, but judging by the photos, it looks to have been a pretty good show; much better than last year, I hope! But anyway, I figure it will come on 50 million more times over the next few weeks, so I’ll be able to catch the re-runs. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA // THURSDAY, SEPT. 4TH 2008 » The 2008 BMI Urban Awards went down Thursday night and was a big night in the Black Music Industry. Three major awards were handed out that night to, Songwriter of the Year, T-Pain, Producer of the Year, Kanye West, and Janet Jackson presented the BMI Icon Award to her brothers The Jacksons 5. Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z & Lil’ Wayne have all decided to collaborate on one track titled “Swagger Like Us!” The track is sampled from M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” Can you even imagine the buzz … or hype this song will cause?! I’m not sure who’s album this will appear on because Jay-Z, T.I., or maybe even Kanye are all working on new albums. But anyhow, I know ya’ll have to check this beat!

Here is the T2W video premiere of Kanye West’s song, “Champion”, from his latest album Graduation. Although Kanye didn’t actually appear in the video I still think it’s funny how he made a video to spotlight the Summer Beijing Olympics that are in session as we speak. Check out the video above!

Kanye West just closed his Glow In The Dark Tour at the Madison Square Garden yesterday and in this closing he announced that he’s currently in the studio producing beats for Jay-Z’s upcoming album The Blueprint: 3. Jay-Z perform a track from his album, “Jockin’ Jay-Z”, which may even be the first single off the new album. Watch out Lil’ Wayne because this might be the biggest album of year!
