Jagged Edge is trying to make a comeback….

After multiple set-backs and signing a new deal with Slip N Slide records, the R&B group are coming out with a new album titled The Remedy.

Group member Richard Wingo tells MTV: “We’re trying to bring back black love. That’s what sets us apart from a lot of the music: It’s not just sex, it’s love involved. That’s what people need more of today. They need to put down their guns a little more.”

“We wanted to go back and touch on it a little bit. It’s just fun: We always been big on titles. If you go back throughout our albums, we have songs like ‘Head of the Household’ and ‘Respect,’ just a bunch of great titles for songs. We put a lot of thought into the titles, and at the end of the day, it was a perfect title for the album.”

Their forthcoming LP is due in March.

Hip-hop represented over the weekend in Atlanta for “Converse Takeover Weekend.” The first event was the Converse Tip-Off, which was held at the Georgia Freight Room Friday (Apr 30) and was attended by Jermaine Dupri, Young Money artist Shanell, model/actress Melyssa Ford and more.

The following day (Sat. May 1), rappers Cam’ron and Jim Jones put their differences aside and suited up as “The Jones Family” team at the Converse Band of Ballers celebrity basketball tournament at Clark Atlanta University. The pair confirmed to Miss Info that they were trying to work things out and reconcile their differences:

“Above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we’re building on getting back on track but first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately…”

Other celebrity bball players at the game were Jermaine Dupri (who headed the “So So Def” team) and rappers Shawty Lo (who led the “Southern Hospitality” team) and O.J. da Juiceman. O’Zone magazine founder Julia Beverly, Sirius XM Shade 45 radio personality Angela Yee and TV/radio host Kenny Burns were also spotted at the game. The final competing teams in the championship game was Jim Jones’ the Jones Family versus Shawty Lo’s Southern Hospitality team with the Jones Family taking the win with a final score of 10 to 5.

BMI held their annual artist showcase last night at the Havanna Club in Atlanta, Georgia. R&B singing group Jagged Edge is back with a new song, a brand new music video and a new label home at Slip N Slide Records. Check out the video for “Tip of My Tongue,” featuring their label-mate Trina (and jailbird Gucci Mane — who obviously doesn’t make an appearance in the video), the debut single from the quartet’s upcoming 7th album, Remedy, due in stores on May 18th.

Lil Kim‘s 34th birthday was about 3 weeks ago (July 11th to be exact), but that still didn’t stop her from celebrating it with a big party at Mansion nightclub this past Thursday night (Jul 23) in Miami, FL. Trey Songz was a featured performer and headliner Thursday night at the BMI Urban Unsigned Talent Showcase, held in Atlanta at E.S.S.O. Nightclub. Nas and new Capital Records signee Novel also performed at the showcase. The 12th annual event gave hopefuls from across the country a chance to display their talent in front of Atlanta’s influential, superstar-spotting music community, and the showcase finalists were chosen by a group of top BMI songwriters, producers and industry execs from a whopping 300 submissions.
