To the rap world he was just starting to break into, he was known as Slim Dunkin. But to the close friends and family members who attended his funeral service at Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia (near Atlanta) on Friday (Dec 23), he was simply “Mario.”

Mario “Slim Dunkin” Hamilton was laid to rest in a touching, spiritual service that included biblical readings from the books of Isaiah and John, a prayer, a gospel solo, tributes from several individuals including his brother Marcus, a video presentation, a selection from the church’s choir, and to top it all off, a “message of Christian hope” from the church’s pastor, Rev. Kerwin B. Lee.

Rappers Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Travis Porter and Yung Chris were just a few of the notable names who showed up to pay their last respects to their fallen friend.

Hip-Hop Enquirer attended the service, and snapped a few emotional photos and captured video from inside the church.

At the beginning of the video is footage from after the funeral, where Slim’s mother Janet Hamilton made a plea to her son’s killer to come forward and turn himself in.

Mario Denzel Hamilton, also known as “Slim Dunkin,” was shot and killed on Friday, December 16th 2011 inside an Atlanta recording studio. The rapper’s shooting death was reportedly over a stolen piece of candy.

“To the person who killed my son, please turn yourself in, for the sake of our family,” Ms. Hamilton said after his funeral, fighting back tears.

According to Access Atlanta, noticeably absent from the funeral program was any reference to “Slim Dunkin,” or the rap music he was pursuing to make a name for himself, except for the flower spread on top of his coffin that had the words “Squad” spelled out with white flowers, in reference to the “Brick Squad” rap crew Dunkin was a part of, along with Waka Flocka Flame and several others.

The program was also nearly void of any stage names from the rappers who were a part of the ceremony.

It listed one of the honorary pall bearers as “Juaquin Malphurs” (Waka Flocka Flame), though it did refer to him as “Waka” in a special acknowledgement at the end. He, along with Gucci Mane, had reportedly helped foot the bill for the cost of the funeral.

In addition to talking about his love of basketball, and how he played with a semi-pro football team in Atlanta, the program also gave a detailed account of Mario Denzel Hamilton‘s life, including growing up in Detroit and New Jersey before he moved to Atlanta.

After the funeral, the silver casket carrying Slim Dunkin’s body traveled through the slain rapper’s old neighborhood (by means of a horse-drawn carriage) before he was buried at the Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, Georgia, according to Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, who handled all of Slim’s funeral arrangements.

While Atlanta police are still trying to figure out who shot and killed up and coming rapper Slim Dunkin last Friday (Dec 16) in an ATL recording studio comes disturbing and shocking new details from the initial investigation of the shooting.

According to Atlanta news station WSBTV, police say they believe a fight over a piece of candy may have led to the Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane affiliate’s shooting death.

“The information we’re getting, it’s unconfirmed, but witnesses are saying this whole thing started over a piece of candy,” Atlanta homicide detective David Quinn told WSBTV.

According to statements from witnesses, Slim Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, allegedly grabbed a piece of candy from another man while they were inside an Atlanta recording studio.

Words were exchanged and the two eventually got into a fist fight, which led to Dunkin being shot in the chest. He was then driven to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“The information we are getting — and it’s unconfirmed — but this whole thing was over a piece of candy,” Detective Quinn said. “The fight spilled out into this area where he was attacked and beat. Based on the evidence we have, whoever he was fighting with secured a weapon and shot him.”

Detective Quinn also told reporters that the Brick Squad Monopoly rapper stood at 6-foot-8 inches tall, and was substantially larger than the man who felt threatened enough to shoot and kill him over a piece of candy.

So far, no witnesses have come forward, and Detective Quinn says that because they weren’t able to go to the scene of the crime sooner to interview witnesses is going to make the investigation a little bit more difficult.

“There were at least 20-30 people in this studio at the time, the fact that Atlanta Police arrived on call to Grady Hospital first, we didn’t have the opportunity to speak to any of those people,” he said. “We came here almost an hour and a half later.”

Slim Dunkin was a rising star in Waka Flocka Flame’s Brick Squad Monopoly crew.

Besides making a few key appearances alongside Waka Flocka’s 2010 debut album “Flockaveli” and on Gucci Mane and V-Nasty’s newly released “BAYTL” LP, Slim was also beginning to gain momentum on his own as a solo artist.

Just this past Halloween, Dunkin released a 20-track mixtape featuring Gucci Mane, Roscoe Dash and Pastor Troy titled “Menace II Society.”

Slim Dunkin and Waka Flocka Flame were best friends and rapped together as a part of the Brick Squad Monopoly crew.

Right after his death was confirmed, members of the Hip-Hop community and those who were close to Dunkin gave their emotional reactions via popular social networking site Twitter, where Dunkin’s name was a trending topic for a moment.

“WISH IT WAS ME … MY F**KING RIGHT HAND IS GONE,” Waka Flocka Flame tweeted December 17th, the day after the murder.

“Never tell your problems to anyone…20% don’t care and the other 80% are glad you have them. #REALSH*T #F*CKDAWORLD … Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

While funeral services haven’t been announced yet, there will be a public viewing for Slim Dunkin’s friends and family held Thursday (Dec 22) from 6pm to 9pm at Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, located at 1003 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in Atlanta.

Up and coming rapper Slim Dunkin — an affiliate of rappers Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame — died after he was reportedly shot and killed in an Atlanta recording studio Friday night (Dec 16).

Police said the rapper, whose real name is Mario Hamilton, was fatally shot in the chest after getting into an argument with another person. He was rushed to the Grady Memorial Hospital tonight where he was pronounced dead.

“It appears the victim was scheduled to do a video shoot,” Atlanta Police Department spokesman Maj. Keith Meadows said Friday.

“Before the video shoot took place, it appears the victim and suspect got involved in a verbal altercation. We don’t know what that altercation was about. The suspect produced a weapon, discharged that handgun one time, striking the victim in the chest.”

Rapper Slim Dunkin (real name: Mario Hamilton) was good friends with rappers Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame.

Slim Dunkin was a member of the Brick Squad rap crew that consists of Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da Juiceman and others.

According to MTV Rapfix:

Dunkin has appeared on a number of songs with Waka like “F–k the Club Up,” “Bang” and “Karma” all from Flocka’s 2010 debut Flockavelli.

He was also featured heavily on Waka’s mixtapes like Twin Towers, Twin Towers 2 (No Fly Zone) and LeBron Flocka Flame 3.

Dunkin was on his solo grind as well.

This past Halloween the street bred MC released Menace II Society, a 20-track mixtape which featured Gucci Mane, Roscoe Dash and Pastor Troy.

Gucci Mane is finally out of prison!

Shortly after being released on Sunday (Dec. 11), the Brick Squad rapper spoke with XXL and promised this will be the last time he goes to jail.

“This is the last time I think I’ll ever be in jail. I really feel that way,” he told the Hip-Hop publication.

While behind bars, Gucci says he had a lot of time to rethink the way he does things. “It was a time for me to sit back and just refocus the whole way I do things, man. The times away from my fans just made me want to grind, get in the studio, go to my shows and appreciate my job and what I do now,” he said.

Rapper Gucci Mane may have done a lot of outlandish things this year … from getting an ice cream cone tattooed on his face to throwing a woman out of a car for not having sex with him.

But one thing we can say on his behalf is … he takes care of his obligations as a father!

TMZ is reporting that the Brick Squad rapper has agreed to pay $2,026 a month to help support his 4-year-old son on an income of $24,908 a month, according to court documents.

Gucci and his baby mama Sheena Evans have also both agreed on her taking primary physical custody … giving him visitation when his schedule permits.

Finally something has worked out smoothly for Mane…

Gucci Mane won’t be getting out of jail early, or anytime soon for that matter. (Somebody please let Waka Flocka know!)

The “Lemonade” rapper appeared in court on Friday and was denied a reduction in his jail sentence stemming from an incident back in January when he pushed a woman out of his vehicle after she declined his offer to pay her for sex.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Davis’ attorneys attempted to get his sentence cut in half by offering to have the 31-year-old emcee stage a concert on behalf of the DeKalb County Battered Women’s Shelter.

But DeKalb State Court Judge Eleanor Ross was not moved, saying, “I don’t think it would be appropriate to let him out just because he’s a rapper.”

Gucci has also been hit with a civil suit from the victim, who identified him by that retarded ice cream cone tattoo on his face.

“He thinks the rules don’t apply to him,” the victim’s attorney stated.

Well damn … the Guc really messed up big this time!! (SMH)

Gucci Mane is now back at his first home … JAIL!

The rapper, who was just released from prison back in April, is already back in the slammer after recently being sentenced to 6 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to two counts of batter, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct for pushing a woman out of his moving vehicle on January 28th.

The Georgia MC will serve out his entire sentence at Georgia’s DeKalb County Jail. He was also sentenced to 3 years probation, which takes effect as soon as he is released.

As a result of his plea deal, Gucci Mane will also be required to complete 12 weeks of anger management courses, pay a $5,000 fine to cover the woman’s medical bills, and he also must pay a separate fine for $3,000.

Once Gucci Mane gets out this time … let’s hope he stays out. But that probably won’t happen! He’ll be right back in this time next year (or maybe even sooner, smh). Just watch.

Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy may not be the best of friends … but they’re no longer worst enemies.

In an interview with MTV, the Brick Squad head honcho revealed that he and Jeezy have squashed their longtime beef (for what seems like the umpteenth time).

“On the strength of [the fact that] anything could have happened between not just me and him [but] between our camps, we just came to a sit-down of just respecting the fact that somebody can get hurt, and it ain’t going to be us. That’s what made us do that,” he explained.

However despite killing all beef, Gucci doesn’t see the two collaborating anytime in the future. “I don’t think so. We started the conversation, but I can’t see it happening,” he said.

Well at least they can agree to disagree and and let all the extra sh*t die out.

“Ferrari Boyz” serves as the lead single and title track for the rap duo’s upcoming joint-album of the same name.

The “No Hands” rapper was taken into custody for Criminal Possession of Marijuana.

Authorities caught Flocka in the parking lot of the Coliseum mall in Queens … but later released him with no criminal charges filed.

After being released, he tweeted:

“I’m finna jump on my flight 2 Kc ……. sorry 2 da whole m town 4 not coming I had spend a nite n jail with no charge #onlybecauseirap. Can’t no 1 stop with GOD got planned 4me [know that].”

Flocka and Gucci are a match made in Heaven. When one’s not in trouble, you can always bet your last dollar the other is! SMH…

In his first public appearance since being sprung from prison, Gucci Mane was spotted greeting fans and signing a few autographs as he exited Prime One Twelve Steakhouse in Miami Tuesday night (Jul 12).

Other celebs spotted leaving the South Beach eatery were actress Vivica A. Fox and rapper Rick Ross, who generously tipped the valet with two $100 bills as he left the restaurant.

Gucci Mane is allegedly out of prison … despite multiple reports claiming he is still locked-up.

According to XXL, the Guc was released early this morning from Fulton County jail.

“At approximately 4:35 in the morning Gucci Mane was released from Fulton County Jail,” his lawyer Ashutosh Joshi confirmed.

Joshi also stated that Gucci will be celebrating at a concert produced by former business partner Big Cat in ATL.

Several reports claiming that Gucci Mane was released from prison and celebrated at Club Onyx in Atlanta last night emerged on the web earlier today. But according to MTV News … the rapper is still locked up!

Gucci was expected to be released yesterday, according to his lawyer Ashutosh Joshi, but it seems that “procedural holdups” prevented that from happening. MTV News also learned that there is currently a hold on Gucci’s release and a possibility that once he is freed from Fulton County Jail that he would be sent up to a state prison. The rapper’s lawyer however says that once this issue is resolved Gucc will be free man.

Finally…..

Rapper Gucci Mane will remain behind bars for another month or so. According to MTV, Mane will be released from Georgia’s DeKalb County Jail by the end of June.

“Gucci, appeared in a Fulton County courtroom on Monday afternoon and in less than an hour, our attorney Mark Issa prevailed. Gucci will not only be released in 45 days, but will also end his probation by the last days of June upon his release from jail. Gucci looks forward to getting back into the studio and on with his life. Gucci thanks all his fans for the overwhelming love and support they have given, ” his publicist stated.

As we previously reported, Gucci was arrested on April 8th for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle.

Hopefully this will be the last of his temporary vacations … even though we know the odds of that happening is like getting struck by lightening.

According to AllHipHop, a lawyer for incarcerated Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has denied accusations that his client pushed a woman out of his Hummer as it was moving, resulting in a misdemeanor charge.

Tuesday (Apr 19), Gucci, whose government name is Radric Davis, was formerly charged with battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct. The 1017 BricksSquad CEO, who is still incarcerated, plans to plead not guilty, according to his lawyer Ashutosh Joshi.

Prosecutors accused Gucci of showing a “willful disregard for a woman’s personal safety” when they formally charged the 31-year-old rapper.

“We obviously believe the charges are false,”Joshi told the Macon Telegraph. “We don’t agree with them and we look forward to having the opportunity to fight the charges in court.”

Gucci is accused of pushing a 36-year-old woman named Diana Graham out of his Hummer on January 28th, after the woman allegedly refused a $150 “proposition” from the rapper, to visit a local hotel.

Over the weekend, we reported that Gucci Mane was arrested for pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle. The rapper was taken into custody while visiting his probation officer in Atlanta Friday (Apr 8) and remains in custody as of today on battery charges.

Now we have the details on exactly why he thought it would be okay to push a woman out of a moving car. Check them out below:

The incident he is charged with happened on January 28th, according to an incident report from DeKalb County police. According to the report, Gucci Mane picked up a 36 year old woman at South DeKalb Mall in a white Hummer after he asked her if she wanted to go to breakfast.

The alleged victim stated she had never met the suspect previously but knew of his musical profession according to the report. At one point the woman realized he wasn’t taking her for breakfast. “(The woman) asked what was he doing and where were they going. Gucci Mane stated that he wanted to go to the hotel and that he would give her $150 dollars. (The woman) refused and stated just take me back to the mall, I can make my own money.”

The report said Gucci Mane leaned over the woman and opened the passenger side door while the vehicle was still in motion. “Gucci Mane shoved (the woman) several times in the side and shoulder area attempting to get her out of his vehicle.” The report said the vehicle left the roadway and Gucci Mane was able to push (the woman) out of the vehicle which was still moving.

According to the report, the woman was transported to Atlanta Medical Center complaining of soreness and pain. The woman was advised to apply for a warrant. “Detectives did not take out a warrant,” said DeKalb Police spokesperson Mekka Parish. “In misdemeanor assault/battery cases the victim applies for warrants.”

Rapper Gucci Mane was arrested earlier today (Apr. 8) for a warrant stemming from a recent incident in which he pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle.

DeKalb County Police say Radric Davis, also known as Gucci Mane, was arrested by the DeKalb County Fugitive Squad Friday.

Davis was arrested while visiting his probation officer at the Georgia Department of Corrections Probation Office on Sylvan Road in Atlanta, say authorities.

Davis is charged with battery, a misdemeanor but as a result of the arrest will be also charged with violating his probation. Davis is on probation for previous unrelated charges.

Police say they arrested Davis on a warrant that stated he intentionally caused visible bodily harm to a female by pushing her out of a moving vehicle.

Davis is being held in the DeKalb County Jail.

Gucci Mane is hitting the studio with Britney Spears!

The “So Icy” rapper revealed to RumorFix that he will be spitting a couple bars on the pop star’s new song “Hit”.

“Britney’s so icy. I’m going to make her go ‘brrr,” Gucci stated recently.

The two are scheduled to record the track sometime next week at Mizay Entertainment. Gucci thinks that he will make the perfect collaboration with Spears because she’s “raw and exciting. She’s crazy. We like to get down like that.”

This is definitely a must-hear…..hopefully Guc won’t get too wild on this one.

Just when you thought an ice cream cone tattooed on his face was enough…….rapper Gucci Mane has announced that he and his BFF Waka Flocka Flame are taping a pilot for their own reality TV show.

Earlier this week, we reported that instead of spending time in rehab as ordered by a judge, Gucci and Waka were filming a reality show and recording tracks in the studio. And now it’s looking like we were right!

“We show everyday life. What we get into in studio and at our shows. We just ordinary people with a crazy Rock ‘N’ Roll lifestyle. Because of the music we make, people think that’s what we do all the time — but we got a real family life. We got heart. We do a lot of things for the community and we love each other,” Gucci told Rumor Fix during a recent interview.

The Brick Squad CEO went on to add that he believes most people will get a few laughs off the show.

“I think they’ll get a laugh more than anything. I’m not serious all the time. People think we are thugs because of our music.”

We’re not gonna lie……a reality show about Gucci and Waka would be over-the-top funny. But we don’t think the world isn’t quite ready for that yet!

He was ordered by a judge to spend time at a psychiatric hospital after his lawyers entered a “special plea of incompetency” in court. However sources claim that Gucci did NOT go to “mental rehab” as ordered … and instead, has been in the studio with his buddy Waka Flocka Flame the entire time!

“Gucci is currently filming a new reality show with rapper Waka Flocka (flame),” said the insider. “They are in the studio as we speak.” (Source)

Fresh out of rehab, the troubled rapper stopped by Tenth Street Tattoo yesterday (Jan 12)…..and got a tattoo on his face of an ice cream cone with a red lightening bolt shooting out of it.

We don’t know what possessed him to do such a thing……but it’s MOST DEFINITELY an epic fail. Try again, Guc!

Troubled rapper Gucci Mane wants you to say his name til you wear it out in his newest video release.

After a judge recommended Gucci Mane serve some time in jail for violating the terms of his probation, the rapper committed himself to a mental institution in Atlanta to avoid going to prison. Smooth move…criminal.

On Monday (Jan 3), Gucci Mane (real name: Radric Davis) appeared in court for a probation hearing related to a November 2010 incident when police discovered the rapper driving on the wrong side of the road. According to TMZ, Gucci filed a “Special Plea of Mental Incompetency” in which he was in no state to “intelligently participate in the probation revocation hearing.”

Mentally incompetent. Riiiiight.

MTV says Gucci had been admitted to Anchor Hospital, where the 30-year-old rapper will undergo a “competency hearing” to determine his current mental state pending his January 24th probation hearing. If it is determined that the “Gucci Time” rapper violated his probation, he could face up to 17 months behind bars.

As we previously reported, Gucci Mane’s protege Waka Flocka Flame turned himself in earlier this week, and as of press time, is still in police custody on drug and weapons charges.

Gucci Mane is about to end up like T.I.…

The Southern rapper was ordered by a judge in court today to spend 30 days in a medical treatment center until his next hearing.

Details are below:

“The court ordered Mr. Davis into treatment of a medical treatment facility, pending a revocation hearing later this month.” Gucci’s lawyer, Michael Holmes told XXL.

During the hearing, Gucci was also informed that he will more than likely be sentenced to 17 months in jail for violating the terms of his probation back in November.

His next court date is at the end of the month. Seems like court dates and jail time is starting to become a recurring trend with rappers these days! SMH…

Law enforcement sources in Henry County are telling TMZ that cops are investigating possible prostitution, and Waka’s mom/manager Debra Antney says that cops were also looking for evidence of gang paraphernalia and drugs.

Once they arrived to Waka’s house, cops say they found marijuana, prescription drugs, and two firearms (a Kel-Tech .223 caliber sub gun and a Tarurus .40 caliber semi-automatic). The guns and drugs were all confiscated.

Gucci Mane was arrested on the scene (and later released), while Waka Flocka was nowhere to be found, and if he doesn’t show up soon, cops will be forced to issue an arrest warrant.

Two other men in the house were arrested and charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

All charges against rapper Gucci Mane have been dropped by prosecutors after his arrest Tuesday (Nov 2) for driving on the wrong side of the road.

As we previously reported, Gucci was originally charged with running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, no license, obstruction, no proof of insurance and other charges along with driving on the wrong side of the road. But for now, a judge has thrown out all of the charges for “want of prosecution”…..but also stated that they could be reinstated later.

Let’s see how long it takes before something like this happens ALL over again. It’s only a matter of time, SMH…

Rapper Gucci Mane was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia Tuesday after police allegedly found him speeding in his white hummer and driving on the wrong side of the road.

According to police, Gucci was charged with running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, obstruction, no license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges.

It was also reported that the rapper had gotten into a fight with another man, and resisted arrest so police had to use pepper spray in order to get him into custody.

Mane, real name Radric Davis, was behind the wheel of his white Hummer around 11:30 a.m. driving “at a high rate of speed,” per an off-duty cop. The officer quickly dispatched on-duty officers, who tracked the SUV to a nearby auto body shop, where Mane was involved in a heated argument.

When cops attempted to break it up, Mane allegedly struck the other man, whose name was not released. Mane refused to submit to police, according to the incident report, and wound up on the receiving end of some pepper spray. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to be checked out before he was checked in to Fulton County Jail, where he remains with bond set at $2,500.

Waka Flocka Flame‘s notoriously outspoken momager Debra Antney is pissed …. again. This time the focus of her anger is being directed towards VIBE Magazine, who she accuses of misquoting her rapper son/client in a recent interview.

Yesterday we posted quotes directly from Waka Flocka in which he talked about his relationship with Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj following the both of them firing his mother as their respective manager. When asked if the split affected his relationship with Gucci, Waka was quoted as saying: “Yeah, all the way… All the way. I ain’t got beef or anything but it has changed. There is [no relationship]. We don’t talk anymore.”

Now Debra Antney says she’s pissed off at VIBE and feels as though they misquoted her son.

There’s no special treatment or anything. When I wasn’t working, she wasn’t even fuckin’ with me in music. [Laughs]. I had to put in work to get her attention. She told me she wasn’t putting money into a street dude. So I had to change up my plans.

Do you know why Gucci and Nicki decided to part ways with your mom?
I can say when you start getting hot, there are a lot of people that get in your ear. I call that the devil. It’ll turn you against the people that helped you. They must have just felt like they needed a change. Maybe they felt like other people can take their career somewhere else. I don’t know. Just like LeBron going to the Heat. I ain’t mad, though, or got problems with anybody. Moms is good; her bills are paid.

Has the split affected your relationship with Gucci?
Yeah, all the way… All the way. I ain’t got beef or anything but it has changed.

So what’s your relationship like now?
There is none. We don’t talk anymore.

What about with Nicki?

Songwriters were honored Friday night (Jun 25) during the 23rd Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. R&B singer Ne-Yo, along with the songwriting/production team Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and Terius “The Dream” Nash, were presented with the night’s top honor: “Songwriter of the Year,” while rapper Dr. Dre was honored with the “Founders Award,” which was presented to him by his good friend Eminem.

Other celebrities and honorees at Friday night’s ASCAP awards were Jermaine Dupri, his artist Dondria, singer Janelle Monae, rapper Gucci Mane (who performed during the show) and more. Even Ron Artest from the Los Angeles Lakers made a random appearance at the 2010 ASCAP awards.
