The biggest names in hip-hop entertainment hit up the 2009 BET Hip-Hop awards, held in Atlanta, GA this past weekend. Folks like Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Monica, Tiny & Toya, Pretty Ricky, Shawty Lo, Plies, Rick Ross and more all walked the red carpet before making their way into the building to enjoy the show, which will air on BET Tuesday, October 27th at 8/7c.
According to our boy FreddyO, Frankie just “found” 2 more of her children last week. We’re not entirely sure how you “lose” and “find” your own children, but with Frankie, this is a regular thing. Anyway, she was already a little emotional, so when she spoke to press on the red carpet of the BET Hip Hop Awards Saturday (Oct 10) in Atlanta, she got a little emotional when the subject turned to her daughter Keyshia Cole:
“She’s been taking care of me since [inaudible] don’t get it twisted. Matter of fact, she’s the reason why I got my esteem back and my hope. When I got out of prison, if it wasn’t for her, I would not be walking the red carpet. Shout out to God. My baby gave me so much encouragement, no matter how I look. ‘Mama you are beautiful. Mama you are fine.’”
Aww, how sweet! No comment on those platinum fronts though, we’re just glad we haven’t heard anything about Frankie wildin’ out at any of the weekend’s festivities. She hosted her own red carpet segment too, and we all know how that could have went!
When you first heard about BET’s new original reality series, “Tiny & Toya” we bet you didn’t think, “Hey, this show is going to be the #1 show in history!” Well, according to stats recently released by Nielson Media Research, it is!
The season finale of the popular BET series Tuesday night (Aug 25) saw an impressive 1.9 milion total viewers, while the season premiere of “Frankie & Neffe” also saw the same numbers. And with an average of 1.8 million viewers per night, “Tiny & Toya” is currently the #1 original series in the history of BET Networks! The premiere of Frankie & Neffe stands as the #2 series debut in BET history.
“Tiny & Toya” chronicled the everyday lives of two ordinary women, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle (T.I.’s fiancee) and Antonia “Toya” Carter (Lil Wayne’s ex-wife), brought together in friendship by their shared experiences surviving the pitfalls of fame alongside superstar significant others. While the brand new series “Frankie & Neffe” follows the R&B Keyshia Cole’s mother (Frankie) and sister (Neffe) as they strive to gain financial independence and take charge of their own lives.
With impressive numbers like that, we wouldn’t be surprised if BET renewed both shows for a second season!
When Keyshia Cole’s mom Frankie parties … she parties hard! She and her daughter Neffe celebrated the premiere of their new BET reality show “Frankie & Neffe” Tuesday night at Uptown in Atlanta. We already know Frankie was the life of the party so what can we say? The pictures speak for themselves!
Neffe’s man Soullow was also there and Neffe showed off her 7 months pregnant belly, even though she wouldn’t tell anybody what the sex of the baby is! She said you’ll just have to watch the show and find out…
Frankie & Neffe airs Tuesday nights at 10:30 P.M. on BET.
Keyshia Cole’s mom Frankie celebrated her birthday with a party at Traxx, a gay club in Atlanta, Saturday night (Jul 18). Here are the pics, courtesy of our boy FreddyO, who said that Frankie cut a fool (as usual) and shoved cake in people’s faces if they didn’t want to eat it lmao!
Rumors began to swirl this weekend suggesting that Keyshia Cole’s mother, Frankie Lons, was involved in a deadly car accident. Fortunately, Keyshia’s rep was able to deny the rumors, confirming that Frankie was NOT involved in a car accident and is alive and well.
“Imani Entertainment has received a huge amount of inquiries in regard to the rumor about Keyshia Cole’s biological mom, Frankie Lons, having recently passed in an automobile accident. The rumor has absolutely NO truth to it – Frankie has not been in any accident of any kind and is doing well at home in Atlanta. We want to thank all of Frankie’s fans for their concern.”
Where the hell do these crazy death rumors come from? People are sick…
