Rapper turned actor Xzibit sees nothing funny about planking, the latest trend that seems to have swept Hollywood in the last few weeks. He wrote on Twitter:

Reality TV star turned restaurant owner Flavor Flav is still in the middle of the media fallout that is occurring around his Fried Chicken restaurant going belly up. Flav recently exed one of his business partners out of a major fried chicken deal and swindled him out of a $30,000 check,

Tommy Karas claims that he was supposed to be a middle man and talk to investors for Flav in an attempt to wrangle up some cash for the initial startup of a Las Vegas Fried Chicken restaurant. Karas goes on to claim that Flav learned about the investors he was courting and decided to cut Tommy right out of the deal and nab the loot for himself! (Ouch!)

According to TMZ, Tommy filed a report with the Las Vegas Metro PD, but law enforcement will not pursue the case because, ”The allegations did not meet the elements of a crime … It’s a civil matter.”

In any event, has our beloved Flavor gone from lovable hype man to all out con man?

The rapper and reality star (real Name: William Jonathan Drayton, Jr.) was pulled over Friday night, and when officers ran his name, they learned there were four separate moving violations on his record.

The charges were driving without proof of insurance, a parking violation, and two cases of driving without a license.

The 52-year old reality star was taken to a nearby jail, booked and eventually released … but not before providing authorities with a mugshot only a mother could love.

You ladies know you love it!

Flavor Flav made big headlines earlier this year when he and a guy named Nick Cimino opened up “Flav’s Fried Chicken” in Clinton, Iowa. Now, just months later, the restaurant is being closed over mismanagement … and old potato salad.

“I had a licensing agreement with Nick Cimino and that’s all we had. It was his business to run from there and the business was not run right,” Flav told TMZ over the weekend.

Just a couple of weeks back, it was reported that employees were claiming that their paychecks were bouncing, which Cimino later blamed on a “credit card glitch.”

But when Flavor Flav found month-old potato salad in the kitchen, that was the last straw. “Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28,” Flav said. “And it’s then when I realized I can’t do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes.”

Month old potato salad? Gross!

Flavor Flav is serious about his chicken. After recently meeting with the CEO of Riviera Casino in Las Vegas Monday (Apr 11), the rapper-turned VH1 reality star-turned chicken restaurateur wants to take his chicken joint — “Flav’s Fried Chicken” aka “FFC” — straight to Sin City!

All the details are below:

Flav took the Riviera boardroom by STORM Monday during a meeting with casino bigwigs — including CEO Andy Choy — and sources close to the deal tell TMZ, Operation Fried Chicken is basically a go in Sin City … pending some last minute number crunching and contract kinks.

It’d be a huge move up from his first location in rural Iowa — according to sources, Flav’s Fried Chicken would occupy some PRIME real estate inside the hotel … once the deal goes through.

And if you thought THAT was something, get a load of this. Flavor Flav was supposed to be doing a reality show about going to high school, but according to recent reports, that will not be happening right now all on account of him working on ANOTHER reality show. This one will center around his original “FFC” chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa and will give audiences the opportunity to see what it’s like running a franchise.

“As long as the content is right, it is very likely (to be picked up),” Flav said about the show, which he says will feel something like ‘Happy Days.’ “This is an idea I’ve been having for a while. When my manager told them about this idea, they jumped on it.”

Meanwhile, Flav is at the center of a dispute with his restaurant’s workers who claim they haven’t been paid since the place opened. But the company’s co-owner Nick Camino says the problems have all been worked out, and the workers have been paid. As far as everything else about the restaurant is concerned, Camino says there have been a few bumps, but everything is under control.

And as the co-owner of a restaurant owned by Flavor Flav … that is exactly what he should say.

The animals rights organization has penned an open letter to Flavor Flav over his fried-chicken restaurant in Clinton.

Greetings from PETA! After reading about the debacle involving employees of your fried-chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa, whose paychecks bounced, we’re writing to encourage you to bounce one more thing—cruelty—and make your restaurant vegetarian.

If you thought your roast was bad, wait until you hear how chickens who are raised to be roasted are treated! Chickens are arguably the most abused animal on the planet. In the United States, more than 8 billion chickens are killed for their flesh each year, and 90 percent of these animals spend their lives in total filth and confinement—from the moment they hatch until the day they are killed.

More chickens are raised and killed for food than all other land animals combined, yet not a single federal law protects chickens from abuse—even though two-thirds of Americans say that they would support such a law. Chickens on factory farms are bred and drugged to grow so large so quickly that their legs and organs can’t keep up, making heart attacks, organ failure, and crippling leg deformities common.

At the slaughterhouse, they are hung upside down, and their fragile legs are forced into shackles. Almost all chickens are still conscious when their throats are cut, and many are scalded to death in feather-removal tanks after missing the throat-cutter.

There’s no reason to cash in on this cruelty. You can have all the same menu items as you did before—minus the meat. Rap star Flava Flav is bringing New York-style fried chicken to little Clinton, IA. The wacky reality TV star and Public Enemy rapper is opening Flav’s Fried Chicken Monday in the Midwest town of 26,000 that’s 200 miles west of Chicago. “I always said to myself, ‘Col. Sanders, you better watch out,” the rapper says in a YouTube video. “Your boy Flava Flav is coming and you better watch out.”

Flav, whose real name is William Drayton Jr., has been in Iowa preparing for the launch and told the Clinton Herald newspaper he’s even ready to work the fryer. He admitted it was a bit off the beaten track for him and says hopes to expand quickly to “hundreds” of outlets. “I ain’t gonna lie: This is way out there,” Flav said.

The new joint will be called FFC and the rapper says the idea stemmed from the 99-cent wings he served at Mama Cimino in Las Vegas. His business partner is the brother of that restaurant’s owner.

Flav was known for his signature “yeah, boyee” chant and wearing a giant clock necklace when Public Enemy was topping the charts in the ’80s. He found fame anew in 2004 on the third season of VH1′s “The Surreal Life” He also starred in the network’s “Flavor of Love.”

He has a culinary degree and restaurant experience – and a serious shortage of modesty. “I’m gonna have this place crowded like O’Hare airport,” he bragged.

Public Enemy hype man turned reality TV star Flavor Flav (real name: William Drayton, Jr.) will soon answer to charges claiming that he owes $63,458 in back child support to the mother of three of his children. Back in 1996, Mary Parker had an agreement of the couple’s former two children being covered by an arranged payment schedule of $117 per week. However, Parker moved to have the agreement amended in July 2008 after the birth of a third child. She was successful with an appeal last month, and a judge ordered Flav’s weekly payment of $117 increased to $837.72, along with requirements to cover private school tuition fees dating back to the original 2008 amendment filing.

Flav, who celebrates his 51st birthday next month, explained that he will contest the order on the grounds that he’s made payments to his children’s mother beyond the court decreed amount.

“The judgment is recent as I was just made aware of it,” Flav stated to the NY Post. “I’ll certainly be addressing it. However, I’ve made payments on my children’s tuition, and have made direct payment to the mother outside of the court order.”

At press time, Flavor Flav’s Albany County child support case does not have a court date.

Ashanti sure is looking good these days! It’s hard to believe Nelly let all of that go. She and Ja Rule reunited on stage at the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Wednesday night (Sep 23), which saw performances from Wale, Kid Rock, Method Man & Redman, Eminem and more. The ceremony honored the pioneers of Def Jam along with the people, past and present, who helped create the label and build it into what it is today. Hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan, the show is set to make its television debut only on VH1 on Tuesday, October 13th at 9 pm.

It’s only right that the first Def Jam artist to be honored was the label’s foundation and face for so many years, LL Cool J. The Roots started it off with “Rock the Bells.” Black Thought ripped the first verse of the record, then gave way for a special guest: Eminem. Last year, Slim Shady publicly expressed his love for LL during a phone prank on DJ Tony Touch’s Shade 45 radio show. Spitting the second verse of “Rock the Bells” on Wednesday night, Em sounded almost exactly like the legend who inspired him. “Now I’m worldwide known/ Whether you like it or not/ My one-man band is Cut Creator…/ When he’s on the fader/ What’s my DJ’s name?” “Cut Creator!” The crowd yelled. Later, Kid Rock paid tribute to LL with “I’m Bad.” The Kid also DJed during the show, as did Ed Lover.

The second performance was from one of Def Jam’s signature groups, Public Enemy. Chuck D was immediately electrifying with the opening words for “Rebel Without a Pause”: “Yes, the rhythm, the rebel.” Chuck still has one of the most recognizable and commanding voices in all of music, not just rap. Flavor Flav came out wearing a white tuxedo jacket, matching top hat and a black bow tie. PE arguably had the performance of the night with help from the Roots, S1W and Boots Riley. The Long Island-bred rap chiefs were just born for the stage. The entire crowd was on their feet cheering. After their performance, Flav was seen talking to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan in the audience.

Another bricklaying squad for the house that Russell and Rick built was, undoubtedly, the Beastie Boys. KRS-One, Wale and the Gym Class Heroes did a rocking rendition of “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.” Travis McCoy, who wore a black T-shirt with the names “DJ AM” and “Roc Raida” in the shape of the Run-DMC logo, took on the first verse. The Blastmaster, who is a former HHH honoree himself, took verse two and ended by saying, “Adam, get well soon,” referring to Adam Yauch, who is currently battling cancer. Wale finished off the song and later paid tribute to Kanye West, wearing a backpack and rapping “Touch the Sky.”

When Onyx performed “Slam” it felt like the group had stepped out of a time capsule: They looked almost exactly the same and still had that insane energy that made them famous. During his verse, Sticky Fingaz climbed on top of a large speaker. Rather than climb down when he finished, Stick climbed into the balcony. Other performers included Rick Ross, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Redman, Method Man, Mary J. Blige, EPMD, Ghostface Killah, Chrissette Michele, Warren G, Trey Songz, the reunion of Ashanti and Ja Rule, Ludacris and DMX — many of whom teamed up with the Roots for a show-closing medley of Def Jam hits.

Offstage, Ja Rule and DMX had their own reunion. The two came up together as close friends and later turned to bitter enemies, even dissing each other on records. As X was walking out, Ja was returning to his seat, and the pair saw each other, hugged and talked for a few moments.

Rapper DMX walked the Red Carpet of the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Wednesday night (Sep 23) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. His appearance at this year’s show marked his first public appearance/performance in at least three years. And we all know all of the drama he’s been getting himself into in the meantime.

Flavor Flav, Lupe Fiasco and M.I.A. all took the stage this weekend at the 2009 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. M.I.A. performed live on stage Saturday night, during Day 2 of the festival and Lupe and Flav performed during Day 3 of the festival, which was Sunday.

What’s up with your boy Flav though? How old is he? At one point do you take a look at yourself in the mirror and say “Dammit … I need to grow up!” Dude has gotta be pushing 50, no bullsh*t. 50 Cent recently went through a custody battle with his baby mama, Shaniqua Tomkins (pictured above). Fortunately for the rapper, he passed a court-ordered drug test and was granted permission to see his 12-year-old son, Marquis, and reports say that 50 will now get an unrestricted visit from his son from August 3-12. I’m not a fan of shitty cent, but it’s always good to hear news like this. All children need both their mother AND father in their lives. One question though … what’s up with the hat???

And speaking of hats, what the feezy is that on Flavor Flav’s head? The highly eccentric rapper was recently spotted hanging out with Snoop Dogg in New York. Since when are these two buds? Word on the sidewalk is that she is now a spokeswoman for a new campaign by Gucci entitled, “Tattoo Heart,” where she’ll promote a limited line of bags that will benefit UNICEF, a non-profit organization that benefits children. Definitely a good look!

In a revealing interview with Complex, former rapper turned celebreality star, Flavor Flav gave us a little too much information about his sex life.

Complex: Where did you lose your virginity?

Flavor Flav: Where did I lose my virginity? I lost my virginity in the bushes on a box.

Newlyweds Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey showed off their wedding rings Thursday night as the two left The Waverly Inn in New York. I suppose they plan on riding this publicity train until the wheels fall off. Unless they have something else up their sleeve, all of this whoopla is gonna die down after about a week or so. And then that’s when they’re gonna decide to divorce, causing more mayhem. You think Mariah’s slow … but trust me, she’s not! In fact, she’s the smartest rock in the box =)

Looks like Flavor Flav isn’t done being an “actor!” If you think that shit on VH1 is reality, then I have some swamp land near Paris Hilton’s malibu mansion to sell you. Anyway, MyNetworkTV has ordered 13 episodes of a new sitcom called “Under One Roof,” which stars William Drayton aka Flavor Flav, that will debut in Spring ’08. The series will feature Flav in the role of Calvester Hill, who is an ex-con who moves in with his wealthy, conservative brother Walter. Upon his arrival, Hill starts bringing his old prison buddies by the house, teaching his nephew how to be a gangster rapper, and clashing with Walter’s wife Ashley.

“I am real excited about my new sitcom Under one Roof,” Flav said in a statement announcing the deal. “I want to thank MyNetworkTV for believing in your boy because we are about to blow this out of the water. I am about to take MyNetworkTV and make it MY network.”

Under One Roof is currently in production in Toronto. Does anyone else see the resemblance of “Fresh Prince,” which is currently in syndication on Nick-At-Nite? I mean, minus the ex-con bit … but still the same general idea.

Like it or not, Flavor of Love 3 is coming … and soon. Maybe not next week, or even the week after. But on Monday, February 11th 2008, your living rooms, bedrooms, whatever, will be invaded by the mug of the creature above. Hide the children. Flavor Flav is back! Will I be watching? Hell yeah.  Will I hate myself later for wasting approximately 10 – 12 hours of my life, over the span of the entire season? Probably.
