Fat Joe and Chris Brown were spotted on the beaches of Southern California shooting the video for their collaboration single “Another Round,” directed by Collin Tilley.

And how did this collaboration come about, you ask?

“I’ve known him for years and we toured together in Africa and he was like, ‘We gotta do something.’ I’m like, ‘You are the hottest ni*ga in the game right now; why wouldn’t I want to do something with you?’” Fat Joe explained to Rap-Up.com. “He always told me that for years but at the time, he was like 15, 16 and just so young. I was like, ‘Yo, it wouldn’t even be right.’ But now he’s a grown ass man, so it makes sense.”

Fat Joe was devastated when he heard about Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s divorce.

The “Lean Back” rapper revealed to Fox News Latino that it was one of the saddest days of his life.

“One of the saddest days of my life was the three of four days ago. That’s my favorite couple. They are powerful Latinos, a powerful couple. I love them both.”

Hip-Hop and R&B were represented well over the weekend at the annual Supafest 2011 concert event in Australia. A little rainy weather didn’t stop Hip-Hop and R&B acts like Ciara, Diddy & Dirty Money, Rick Ross and Bobby V. from hitting the stage to perform Sunday night (Aug 22) at the Power 105.1 “Power Live” Concert at Governor’s Island in New York City.

Rapper Fat Joe is celebrating the release of his tenth studio album The Darkside Vol. 1 today (Tues. Jul 27), but the Terror Squad front-man says issues with his old label Capitol Records caused his 2009 album J.O.S.E. to bomb so bad that it only sold under 8,000 copies its first week. Speaking to our friends over at VIBE.com, Joey Crack said:

I went with the J.O.S.E. title again because it felt big. I have some big records under my belt and can’t nobody tell me that this wasn’t a strong album. You can’t tell me the song with Akon (“One”) wasn’t a smash hit record. Why didn’t it blow? I think there was a lack of publicity. I had signed with Capitol through a guy named Neal Levine, but he took a promotion at Sony and left. The new guy that took over, immediately me and him didn’t get alone. We had bad words with each other, so he pretty much told me, “Yo, you are going to see how I do you!” That meant no marketing dollars behind that album…no money for videos or for a promo tour. They left me to die. But that doesn’t take away from it being a good album.

In March of this year, Fat Joe signed a new record deal with E1 Music (formerly Koch Records), the largest independent record label in the country. So we’ll see how well his album does now that he’s with a new label!

Fat Joe was detained by police last night (Sun. Jun 20) after he and his rap entourage allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Madison, Wisconsin.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old woman is accusing Fat Joe and others of assaulting her in a Cadillac Limo after he performed a concert at The Orpheum Theater.

Cops later brought the “Lean Back” rapper and his crew in for questioning, however he was not arrested and was shortly released after interviews were completed. The investigation is still ongoing as details are sorted out.

DJ Khaled is doing another “featuring everybody and their mama” music video and he and Hip-Hop heads like Rick Ross, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Fat Joe and Busta Rhymes were spotted at a studio in Florida on the set of the new music video for the “All I Do Is Win” remix.
