Eve, Drew Barrymore, Serena Williams and Steven Spielberg Attend “Whip It!” Movie Premiere

Rapper/actress Eve and actress (now director) Drew Barrymore shared a hug Tuesday evening (Sep 29) at the after party for the premiere of “Whip It” at Hot Tub Johnny’s in Hollywood. The movie, which Eve stars in, was directed by Drew Barrymore and hits theaters nationwide Friday, October 2nd. This is Barrymore’s first time directing a film.

Eve Gets Rid of her “Fetish” and Leaves Geffen Records

Eve’s clothing line, Fetish, is a no-go. The entire apparel line and its collections are done for good due to “legal reasons,” reports The YBF. She was supposedly in the middle of revamping the line for a re-release under a new name and a new parent company, but obviously all of that will not be happening.

She also told the website that she had left her label, Geffen Records, confirming earlier reports that the two had parted ways. Her fourth studio album, Flirt, was due to be released last year but was pushed back to 2009 and now that she’s a free agent, she’ll have to wait until she’s with another label to get it out.

In the meantime, be on the look-out for her in the new Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page movie “Whip It!” and an upcoming guest appearance in Fox’s new comedy series “Glee.”

Rapper DMX walked the Red Carpet of the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Wednesday night (Sep 23) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. His appearance at this year’s show marked his first public appearance/performance in at least three years. And we all know all of the drama he’s been getting himself into in the meantime.

R&B singer Alicia Keys attended the National Black Theatre’s Communication Arts Program Symposium Friday in New York City. In other Alicia news, she recently announced that despite her talented musical background, she had to learn how to play the cello for her role in The Secret Life of Bees, on DVD March 31st. She added that even though she stopped practicing after filming wrapped, she does have plans on pursuing the instrument in the future.

“I had to work hard at it and I was constantly practicing, constantly learning and re-learning the proper way to play. It takes a year or so just to learn how to hold the bow properly and use it the right way, so just making it feel effortless and look effortless was a challenge. It had to look as if I’d been playing for 15 or 20 years. That took a lot of practice – but I’m used to discipline and practice … I didn’t play after finishing the film but I do want to rediscover it and I will probably start again from the beginning and learn properly,” said the star.”

So the 2007 Movies Rock! show went down last night (December 7th): a night of movies, fashion and music! Performances include Chris Brown, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Will.I.Am, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and Eve! It looked fun, I’d say my favorite performance would have to be Fergie Ferg with “Live and Let Die” (Guns N’ Roses), she did an amazing job and did that song much justice. Ooh, I also love Usher’s performance of Gene Kelly’s “Singing in the Rain” – great show! Really they ALL did a fantastic job, I’m so proud of everyone! I’m mad I missed it y’all! Ha ha, expect more performances after the cut!

BRITNEY MIGHT HAVE TO START PAYING CH-SUP! Â» For all of you out there scratching your heads wondering wtf “ch-sup” is … it’s short for child support! Lol. Anyhow, if you’ve been living on planet earth the past few weeks, you’ll know that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have been a part of a nasty custody battle. Fortunately for Kevin, and unfortunately for Britney, custody of their two sons, Preston and Jaden, was granted to their father, Kevin Federline. Commissioner Scott M. Gordon did not say why he took the action or say how long Spears would be denied custody. But two weeks ago, he said there was evidence that Spears was “a habitual, frequent and continuous” user of drugs and alcohol. He ordered her to submit to twice-weekly drug and alcohol testing, undergo co-counseling with Federline and receive parent coaching. The parental coach was ordered to report back to the court later this month, ahead of a November 26th court date. So … does that mean Kevin will be getting child support from Brit?? Damn! But check out the photo the left! Awww! They used to be so happy! I wonder what happened…
