Evander Holyfield Allegedly Beats Wife Over Church Tithes?

Former boxer Evander Holyfield’s wife claims that he attacked her following an argument over donations to their church. Candi Holyfield, the former heavyweight world champion’s third wife, says Evander hit her in the face, the back of the head and her back one night earlier this month prompting her to file a temporary protective order against him.

“He said that I was being disrespectful,” 30-year-old Candi Holyfield said in a February 3 court filing. “He started telling me that I needed to start putting God first in my life.” According to court documents, the dispute started during the night and when Holyfield turned on the light and saw his wife’s face he apologized. It was unclear whether the incident resulted in a criminal investigation.

With the help of Volkswagen, Maxim Magazine hosted a pre-Super Bowl party in Miami, FL Saturday night (Feb 6) at The Raleigh that drew in celebrities from all over.

Folks like Bow Wow, Nelly, Jermaine Dupri, LL Cool J and more came through to party it up the day before the Super Bowl and add their signature to the VW GTI parked on the red carpet. With each signature, Volkswagen will make a donation to Doctors Without Borders.

The 2009 ESPY Awards went down Wednesday night (Jul 15) at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Kobe & Vanessa Bryant, Venus & Serena Williams, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Michael Phelps, Wyclef Jean and other celebrities/athletes showed up to the ceremony, which was hosted by award-winning actor Samuel L.
