Known as one of the hardest working men in entertainment, Ryan Seacrest has just splashed $49 million of his hard earned cash on Ellen DeGeneres‘ 9,200 square foot Beverly Hills mansion.

Seacrest — who is is a radio host, television personality and network producer — reportedly makes over $50 million (or more) a year and is worth at least $125 million … so a $50 million home purchase is nothing for a baller like him.

According to The Huffington Post, Ryan Seacrest’s purchase was made through the same realtor Ellen DeGeneres used to make her sale back when the home was owned by Max Mutchnick, co-creator of “Will and Grace.”

Ellen originally paid $29 million for the house, and later purchased the adjacent properties, bringing the total asking price for the whole estate to $49 mil. The mansion sits on 2.87 acres and has three guest homes.

But even though may have a new home, Seacrest is still reportedly trying to sell his $11.9 million Hollywood pad, which once belonged to actor Kevin Costner and his family, and boasts a gym, tennis court, swimming pool, six bedrooms and a screening room.

Jessica Simpson and her huge pregnant belly made an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday (Mar 13).

While there, the pregnant star talked about her due date, her baby’s name (which she’s still not telling) and more.

With Jessica looking big as a mansion house, you would think that her due date is within the next few days. But Jessica says she isn’t due for another few “weeks.”

Ellen: When are you due?

Jessica: I have some weeks.

Ellen: No you don’t.

Jessica: I really do.  It’s not like tomorrow.

Ellen: It looks like it’s tomorrow.

Regarding the baby’s name, Jessica says she and her fiance (NFL player Eric Johnson) have already picked one out, but they’re not revealing it until she’s born.

Ellen: Have you picked out the baby’s name yet?

Jessica: I have but we’re not really saying it until the baby is here.

Ellen: Of course, I know people say they have but you can’t really know until you meet the baby.

Jessica: We’ve been calling her by her name.

Ellen: Oh, you have.

Jessica: She reacts to it.  I could be one of those physco mom’s that just thinks one little kick… is her really listing to me.  She’s really like, shut up.

Today (Mar 1) is Justin Bieber‘s 18th birthday, and the Pop Star chose to celebrate the momentous occasion by appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

While there, Justin announced the release date and name of his new single, which he says he co-wrote with songwriter/producer Mike Posner, and he also received a very expensive birthday gift from his manager Scooter Braun.

“You work really really hard. I always yell at you don’t get anything flashy. You know, we’re not about that. Be humble, be humble and I kind of broke my own rule,” Scooter said, building suspense.

“So we wanted to make sure your were environmentally friendly and we wanted to make sure since you love cars that when you’re on the road you are always environmentally friendly and we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out … I think you know where I’m going and you’re kind of freaking out right now. That’s a Fisker Karma,” he told a shocked and speechless Bieber.

The Fisker Karma is an environmentally friendly sports sedan and is one of the most sought after cars in the world with an estimated $100,000 price tag.

“A very hard to get car,” Ellen explained.

Celebrating the second anniversary of her ”Let’s Move!” fitness and healthy eating initiative, First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres” show and flexed off her athletic skills in a push-up contest with show host Ellen DeGeneres.

“I was just wondering if you could do more push-ups than I could do,” Ellen said to the First Lady, who took up Ellen’s challenge without hesitation.

Seal says he was just as shocked as we were about his divorce to Heidi Klum.

The soul singer opens up about the split from his wife of eight years on a recent episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

“I think we were shocked. You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say ‘I do’ and you say ”til death do us part.’ Those vows hold value. They are not just words. These things happen. We pretty much said how we feel and made it clear in the release statement.”

Despite the break-up, Seal still views Heidi as the most wonderful woman in the world.

“You try and you work through it and the thing that you quickly realize when you are married and you become a parent you do the best that you can. The thing I’m most proud about this great woman who I married (and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart), is that together she has given me four incredible gifts … four beautiful children. She still, in my opinion, is the most wonderful woman in the world.”

Just to show how much he and Heidi remain on good terms….Seal hasn’t taken off his wedding ring and has no plans of doing so in the future.

“Yes, I am still wearing my ring. I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person.

“We will be connected in many ways ‘til the rest of our lives. Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have intentions of taking it off anytime soon.”

It’s sad seeing such a beautiful couple calling it quits…..but maybe it’s for the best.

Justin Bieber kept a promise he made to Ellen DeGeneres by visiting an underprivileged elementary school in Las Vegas.

During his visit to Ellen’s “adopted” school, Whitney Elementary School, the Pop singer donated at least $100,000 worth of toys and presented the school with a $100,000 check. He also performed for the students who were very happy to see him.

Michael Jackson‘s daughter Paris Jackson sat down with daytime TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres for a rare interview where the celebuspawn talked about a number of topics, including the best advice her father gave her before he died, her acting dreams and more.

“He said, ‘If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.’ I took his advice, and I remembered everything he told me,” the 13-year-old said in an interview scheduled to air on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Thursday (Dec 15).

In her first-ever solo TV interview, Jackson also discussed the famous masks her late father made her and her two brothers wear whenever they went out with him in public.

“I’m like, ‘This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?’” she told DeGeneres. “But I kind of realized the older I got, like, he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us too.”

These days, she says she lives a relatively normal life. “I’m treated the same. When I [went to school], they didn’t know who I was. I was like, yes, I have a chance to be normal.”

But now, after being sort of ‘incognito’ for so long, Michael Jackson’s only daughter has decided to step in the spotlight herself after snagging a role in the upcoming fantasy film “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys.”

“My dad was in the movie Moonwalker, and I knew he could sing really well but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him,’” Paris told Ellen. “We would do improv together. He would give us little scenarios. He would go, ‘Okay, in this scene you’re going to cry,’ and I’d cry on the spot.”

Rihanna says she isn’t exactly thrilled about being single and the fact that she hasn’t been getting any booty calls lately.

In new interview with “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the Pop star talks about how much being single “sucks,” and how she likes to date aggressive, yet mysterious men:

Rihanna: I’m not dating anyone right now.

Ellen: You’re single right now?

Rihanna: I’m not dating at all.

Ellen: I would think you would be intimidating to men. First of all, having the title ‘The Sexist Woman Alive” (From Esquire Magazine) I don’t know if you wear a banner or what happens. Is there a crown? When you’re the “Sexist Woman Alive” men are going to be intimidated. How do you guys…Are they scared of you?

Rihanna: I would say at times it can be intimidating but then it’s no good. I can’t have guys that are intimidated by me.

Ellen: So do you like men that are more shy and charming or do you like men that are more aggressive and…you want confidence.

Rihanna: I like men that are more aggressive but mysterious but I like a man to be very sure. I like them to be sure of them selves andknow that you’re the man. I’m the lady and the only way for us to make this work is for us to play our roles. You know, I can’t really be the man for you. I don’t want to have to be. I’m the man at work all the time.

Ellen: I think especially for a powerful woman and you make a lot of decisions the whole day. Your job is to make decisions. You want somebody else to take control and make those decisions in a relationship. And that’s hard to find a guy who’s not going to be intimated by the power you have. And, realize there’s got to be another side.

Rihanna: Definitely. It can be difficult but I think really right now, I’m not giving the time. I don’t have the time. I’m not nessicarly happy being single. It’s not really that cool.

Ellen: But you’re ok with it?

Rihanna: It sucks but it is, what it is. Let me say this right, because I don’t want to make it seem like, my work is my everything. I do put a lot into my job. Most of my time if not all of it. It definitely affects my personal life. My personal life is pretty much non-existent. Which is not good, not for the long run. Not for me, not for “Her” (points to in-between her legs) It’s not fun. (Laughing)

Ellen: (Laughing)

Rihanna: That’s why I stay on Twitter a lot. So I can conversate with my fans. Because I don’t get any booty calls.

The event, held in celebration of the former U.S. president’s William J. Clinton Foundation, also served as an event to honor Clinton’s 65th birthday, and features appearances from Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres, Lindsay Lohan and others, as well as a performance from Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter.

Youtube sensation Grace Brownie‘s viral “SuperBass” video has been getting a lot more attention than anyone could have expected.

Yesterday, the 8 year-old and her 5 year-old cousin appeared on the “Ellen” show … to unknowingly be surprised by Nicki Minaj who popped up from backstage!

Along with being able to perform the song for Nicki, Grace also received some great advice from the Young Money femcee.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are showing off their their massive Beverly Hills compound in the latest issue of Architectural Digest Magazine.

The couple’s estate sits on 3 acres and the home features a large painting by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as tons of other artworks; tables, chairs, blanks and rugs from different centuries and various continents around the world; shoe shelves filled with sneakers (Ellen) and stilletos (Portia); a luxurious pool in the back with sweeping views of the Los Angeles area; a media room, where the couple got married in 2008; and a mediation room.

“We never had a house when I was growing up,” Ellen tells the magazine. “We always rented. But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. I’d pick out which bedroom would be mine and get all excited.”

She added, “The first thing I did when I made money was buy a house. And then…”

“Another one,” De Rossi says. “And another one and another one and another one.”

It’s only been a little over a month since Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries got married … but that didn’t stop the newlyweds from renewing their vows on live TV!

The couple just made one of their first TV appearances together since the big wedding on the Ellen DeGeneres show, and the talk show host came up with the idea of having the pair stand at the alter for a fun vow renewal ceremony.

Presiding over the “ceremony” was, of course, Ellen, who told the crowd, “We are gathered here today because we were the only 300 people not invited to Kim and Kris’ wedding.”

Kim jokingly recited, “I take Kris to be my husband and co-star, to love and honor you to always put you first — or at least above Khloe, but below Kourtney!”

Ellen DeGeneres is recovering well after being treated for chest pains Monday (Sep 26) at the Burbank, California studio where she tapes her daytime talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Recounting the health scare to her TV audience late Monday, DeGeneres, 53, revealed that she first felt “tightness and heaviness” in her chest Sunday, but waited until Monday morning to call paramedics.

Using her trademark humor, DeGeneres reassured fans she’s doing just fine.

“The paramedics were strippers that I had called. That’s how the rumors got started,” she joked to the audience. “I woke up in the middle of the night….[feeling] like something was heavy on my chest and it was a cat, so I moved it. I still felt the tightness and heaviness, so there was another cat under that cat. There were two cats on my chest.

DeGeneres says she has a deep appreciation for the medical team who came to her aid.

“It’s better to be safe than sorry. Who doesn’t want to see a fireman occasionally?” the host added. “I want to say thank you to all the paramedics and the nurses who showed up…I appreciate it.”

Glad Ellen’s okay and can now laugh the whole thing off!

In an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that aired today (Sep 20), Demi Lovato opened up about her recent stint in a treatment facility.

Lovato openly confessed that bullying had a harmful effect on her and she suffered from both bulimia and anorexia.

“I think that years of abuse in school,” she explained about self harming, “so many things were said to me that just haunted me every day. I went from having all these friends to none and that’s the effects that bullying can have on you. That’s why I’m so adamant and outspoken about why it’s so important to get the awareness out there that teen bullying can cause these issues. I struggled with cutting, anorexia, basically bulimia…”

Ellen went on to ask the “Camp Rock” star if drugs or alcohol played a part in her life.

“I would be lying to you if I said I never experimented or self-medicated with drugs and alcohol,” Demi admitted.

But now, the 19-year-old admits that she wants to be an example to young girls and is now in focusing on her “health and recovery,” and is in “such a good place now.”

Taylor Swift recently made a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show, and revealed that she doesn’t care about the paparazzi invading her personal space and the media honing in on her relationships.

“I’ve just come to an acceptance of the fact that this is my life,” Swift told Ellen. “If someone wants to hide a relationship or has privacy issues, then we don’t have the same viewpoint. Cause for me it’s just, live your life, if people happen to take pictures then, you know, you laugh about it in the car afterward. It’s whatever.”

Ellen DeGeneres has a way with the stars when it comes to getting things out of them, and this time around with LaToya Jackson was no different.

The “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant appeared on the show on Wednesday (Mar 30) and started off discussing what happened when she learned of Michael’s death, before leading into a discussion about her stint on Donald Trump’s hit TV show and dealing with cast mate Star Jones.

“I almost crashed the car,” La Toya said, explaining what she did when she found out her brother was dead. “I started crying and my head went to the steering wheel. I started begging people on the street to drive me because my legs got so weak. I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “My heart just fell to the ground.”

Ellen managed to keep their conversation light by diverting Jackson’s attention to her “Celebrity Apprentice” co-star, Star Jones and even managed to get sweet-hearted LaToya to call her mean. Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

“[Celebrity Apprentice contestant] NeNe [Leakes] was here not too long ago and she doesn’t care for Star [Jones] too much,” Ellen told La Toya. “Are you having a hard time with Star as well?”

“I think everybody has a hard time with Star,” La Toya said. “I really do.”

“She’s a tough one, right?” Ellen asked. “Is it tough or is it mean?”

“Okay, I don’t want to say anything really bad,” La Toya said. “Okay, just say something sort of bad,” Ellen countered. “Okay, she’s mean … because I always say, if I had lost that much weight I would have been so happy and pleased with myself,” LaToya eventually admitted to Ellen. “It’s something inside that’s hurting her to react that way to everyone … just put a smile on your face sometimes!”

“I’m single. Can’t a girl have friends? Aww, I love him. We just did a movie together and we had the best time.”

“We’re good. After being in a relationship with someone that long, you stay friends.”

Selena Gomez must be blushing all kinds of red from embarrassment after appearing on a recent taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Never the one to be lied to by the stars, DeGeneres showed Gomez a clip of a previous appearance on her show where the tween actress stated that Justin Bieber was no more than a little brother to her when asked if they were dating:

“He’s little. He’s like my little brother. That’s weird to me.”

After Ellen showed Selena the clip, she shamefully bowed her head and laughed.

“Don’t take me to jail,” she pleads.

Says Ellen, “Well, you were trying to hide it still, right? But now you’ve made it public. Now, you went to the Vanity Fair party and made me a fool.”

Selena (laughing): “No, I really didn’t.”

Ellen: “Yes you did!!”

Selena: “I promise you I didn’t. He’s just sweet.”

Ellen: “He is. He’s sweet as can be. But he’s not like your little brother, is he? No, he’s not. And he’s a fantastic guy. You can’t try to hide that forever. I know you all were sneaking around, but that’s crazy. You’re both huge stars and you can’t hide from us.”

Selena: “I didn’t lie to you. I didn’t though. I’ll say that.”

Ellen: “No, you didn’t blatantly lie. A little brother is not someone you want to date.”

Selena: “Well, no. That would be weird.”

Ellen: “That would be wrong and weird in so many ways.”

Ellen then presented Selena with a peace offering: acute pillow with Justin’s face on it to snuggle with while she’s on tour. So it looks like all is well between the two now!

Both Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia can let out a huge sigh of relief.

The couple’s stalker, Karen Grace Sjoden, appeared in court Monday and pleaded no contest to charges of misdemeanor trespassing. She was sentenced to 3 years probation and was issued a strict order to stay away from the couple.

RadarOnline.com is reporting:

Sjoden had been kept in custody on $200,000 bail since being arraigned on February 14, but following Monday’s plea deal she will now be free once again. Judge Revel warned Sjoden about her no contact order: “You can’t email them, have a friend contact them and you can’t have third party contact with them. Sjoden has to return to the court May 16 for a “quick progress report,” according to the judge.”

Judge Revel attempted to get Sjoden a mental health evaluation and tried to get the DA to order it, however Sjoden refused and the DA did not request it so she is not required to meet with doctors. She has been granted permission to leave the state for a job.

An eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com that Sjoden appeared “incoherent” and “rambling” in court today: “Everything seemed to be going well but then [Sjoden] started rambling that ‘I sent a letter to Ellen asking her for a job and I assumed she hired me.’

‘Her sister Krista Taylor as in court and she was sighing. She had seemed happy that a plea deal was being put in place but as Sjoden started rambling her look changed to complete distress.”

During Sjoden’s February 14 court appearance she insisted that she was working as a private investigator for a company called Blue Moon, and that she was monitoring traffic to and from Ellen’s mansion. However, a spokesperson for Blue Moon, an organization based in Texas, told RadarOnline.com that Sjoden had never worked for them.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported Sjoden was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing after being discovered on Ellen and Portia’s property on February 10. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com the 49-year-old’s daughter and ex-husband described her as a “delusional conspiracy theorist” who had an unhealthy obsession with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Her ex-husband, George Macke, who was married to Sjoden until their divorce in 1998, said she is suffering from mental illness. “The diagnosis has been some time ago… she was accusing me of all sorts of things that I knew never happened and I knew it would never get any better,” he said.

Upon her arrest, cops found a letter referencing Clinton, Dolph Lundgren, Warren Buffet, telepathy and aliens.

Wow … Sounds like this lady is a living “looney toon!” There are definitely some serious weirdos out there…

Hugh Laurie says is sick with his first cold EVER!

Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday, the “House” star revealed that he has NEVER ever caught a cold before … until now!

“It’s the first cold of my whole life,” he said. “I’m excited about it because for so many years I believed that I didn’t get colds because, basically, nothing could live in this body. I was so addled with booze and cigarette… but it appears I have curb appeal after all. I don’t know how I got it. The whole thing is so novel that I feel like I’ve sort of rejoined the human race… I’m hoping to string it out.”

Hugh Laurie is 51 years old, which means that he somehow avoided catching a cold for over 50 years! Sounds like a world record to us…

Wow!  Looks like Justin Bieber’s sandy-brown hair is worth $40,668, and that’s only a lock of it! Imagine what his whole head would be!

Shortly after Bieber cut his lovely locks off, he sent a lock of his hair in a quaint little box to Ellen DeGeneres as a gift. DeGeneres then put the hair up for bids on eBay and it sold for a whopping $40,668!

The entire sum of money will be donated to an animal rescue organization called The Gentle Barn Foundation, and the winning bidder will get a chance to meet Bieber the next time he’s on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

That Justin Bieber kid is doing it BIG!

Jennifer Hudson paid a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres show this week to chat about her weight loss and show off her adorable son David. The 29-year-old R&B singer revealed that she has lost ten dress sizes over the past year and a half.

“I just knew, after I had my baby, I just wanted my body back. Whatever body that was,” Jennifer shared. “That was when I made up my mind, I was going to go for it. And then I realized when I was pregnant, I was like, ‘Man, I was wearing the same clothes I was wearing before I was pregnant.’ That was kind of like a wake up call and I wanted to set a good example for my son.”

J-Hud also discussed her new shopping addiction with Ellen and later served up a performance of her new single “Where You At?”

Ahead of Thursday night’s premiere of the new season of “Jersey Shore,” Snooki made a guest appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” today (Wed. Jan 4) to talk about that, and other things. Like getting drunk off her ass and waking up in a garbage can, which she says happens “once a month.”

As Jamie Foxx celebrated his 43rd birthday, the R&B singer paid a visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to promote his upcoming album Best of My Life. In the short interview, Foxx talked about getting an unusual gift for his birthday, along with bringing in real snow to decorate his yard for the Holidays. At the end of the segment, Ellen presented Jamie with a tricked out sled, complete with rims and a music player.

Stars attended the taping of Christmas in Washington 2010 at the National Building Museum on Sunday (Dec 12).

Mariah Carey, who is pregnant with Nick Cannon‘s child, was there to serenade the Presidential family and guests of the event with some Holiday songs accompanied by a choir. The show was hosted by funny gal Ellen DeGeneres, who is seen standing next to Mariah sharing laughs and seemingly going in to touch her growing belly. A rub for luck?

Pink confirmed earlier this week that she and her husband Carey Hart are expecting their first child together!

The Pop singer made the revelation on yesterday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” while promoting her new greatest hits compilation album (in stores now). Pink says she and Carey kept the news a secret for a while because she suffered a previous miscarriage and was initially nervous about going public.

“I’m eating for two these days,” Pink said when Ellen asked her why she was glowing. “I didn’t really want to talk about it because I was just really nervous, and I had a miscarriage before and if I was going to talk about it, it was going to be with you,” Pink told Ellen.

Yesterday the web was buzzing about a potential pregnancy between Beyonce and Jay-Z ….. however according to Tina Knowles (Beyonce’s mother), the rumors are FALSE! Ms. Tina paid a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres show and set the record straight. Peep what she said below:

“I’m here the clear the rumors up. The truth is that it’s not Beyonce that’s pregnant….it’s me!” joked Tina, with a smile on her face. “I”m kidding y’all!” she said to the shocked crowd. “I’m 56. No, no, it’s not true [about Beyonce]. Not right now.”

Even Mama Tina has heard about all of the pregnancy rumors regarding her 29-year-old daughter over the years.

“With all the rumors, by now I should have about 5 or 6 grandchildren,” she said jokingly to Ellen.

So there you have it! According to the non-existent baby’s grandma ….. Beyonce is NOT pregnant! (We kinda told you so haha) Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming….

Ellen DeGeneres‘ wife Portia de Rossi has officially changed her last name to “DeGeneres” and will now be known as Portia Lee James DeGeneres.

The former “Ally McBeal” and “Arrested Development” star was born Amanda Lee Rogers and the she changed her name to Portia de Rossi when she first became a model. Now, she’s switched things up once again after being granted permission to change her name in a Los Angeles court on Thursday (Sep 23).

Portia and Ellen legally got married in a 2008 ceremony back when gay marriage was legal in California.

In a recent interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show“, Jane revealed that Ellen’s “Yep, I’m Gay” 1997 Time Magazine cover helped give her the confidence she needed to come out as a lesbian.

“I was more closeted in my life when I was younger. I used to lay in bed and go, ‘How will I come out or will I come out?” She told Ellen: “You were at the height of your fame and you came out. And that just blazed a trail for me. It really did. It made it so much easier for me, what you did. By the time I started to do work where people knew who I was I just never made the choice to hide that I was gay.”

Lynch also went on to say that it would be a lot harder for actresses like Julia Roberts to be openly gay.

“If Julia Roberts were gay, I think it would be harder. She’s an ingenue.”

Former American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres got it popping last night on the season finale of “So You Think You Can Dance”…and it definitely was a sight to see!

DeGeneres took to the stage with her dance partner Stephen “tWitch” to pay tribute to former contestant Alex Wong…who had to leave the show early due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

“It broke my heart when I saw [Alex's] injury and as a joke, I said it would be fun and because of [choreographers] Napoleon and Tabitha, it became a reality, I’ve never had a dance class in my life, but I had so much fun!” Ellen stated after her performance on the show.

Looks like it didn’t take long for Ellen DeGeneres to get bored with American Idol. The TV personality announced Thursday (Jul 29) that she’d be leaving the show, saying her demanding schedule is to blame and she’s also not too fond of hurting people’s feelings.

Ellen signed a multi-year contract with Fox to appear on the judge’s panel for their hit singing competition show, but said in a statement that she didn’t feel like being on “Idol” was right for her:

“A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

American Idol’s creator and executive producer Simon Fuller says he’ll miss Ellen’s “passion” and “nurturing skills.” The TV exec said in a statement:

“I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”

Now that Ellen has quit Idol, who do you think should fill her spot?

Common talked about his new movie role and his relationship with tennis star Serena Williams on a recent episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The “Just Wright” movie star plays the role of an NBA basketball player who falls in love with his physical therapist, played by Queen Latifah. Actress Paula Patton and actor Laz Alonso also co-star in the film which hit theaters last Friday.

However, this isn’t the only “love story” the rapper turned actor spoke on during his interview with Ellen. He and Serena Williams have been dating for quite some time now and may be taking it to the next level: “Actually, Serena and I have been close for about two years. It’s been evolving,”

When asked about a future wedding arrangement by DeGeneres, Common replied: “I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids.”

He is also a strong supporter of Serena’s tennis career and can be found at the games looking rather tight! “I sit there, and I’m just tense… and people try and talk to me, and I tell them to be quiet,” he says. “I was sitting next to Richard Branson and I didn’t pay attention. I don’t care who is there. I’m focused on this tennis match.”

We hope you guys tie the knot as well! Common you better not mess up though, have you seen the way that girl can swing a racket?? We’re just sayin…

Pop queen Madonna and TV personality Ellen DeGeneres are cousins. Fame and fortune must run in the family. The two are related through a common 10th great grandfather.

“It’s not every day you discover two celebrity icons are related, but it’s their similarities that make the connection so extraordinary,” says a genealogist for the site. “Madonna and Ellen were born the same year, have both written books and been on tour, and are known for their impressive dance moves.”

We told you guys yesterday about radio shock jock Howard Stern being the top prospect to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol. And until now, Stern has said very little about the numerous reports saying that he was being pursued by Fox to replace Simon.

Monday morning (Feb 8), the King of Radio went on his hit XM/Sirius radio show, The Howard Stern Show, and talked about the Idol chatter for literally 2 hours plus making a complete joke of the whole situation and the show itself by calling it a “karaoke contest.” He also attacked Idol judges Randy Jackson and Ellen Degeneres, and said that the show’s host Ryan Seacrest would quit if he took over Idol. Simply hilarious in our opinion.

Based on how Howard Stern joked on the situation, we doubt that he has any plans of taking over this show, but who knows! For all we know this could be a publicity stunt between him and Fox. And even though Howard made a joke of the rumors, he never flat out denied that he had been approached by the producers of Idol nor did mention that he declined any offers.

“I’ll do that for $100 million.” Stern said. “For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? Ok. Why not? It might be possible. We’ll see,” added Stern. “Name a person who could bring more excitement to that show than me. If I was the judge on ‘American Idol,’ looks would play into the judging, too,” Stern said.  I would be honest with them. I would say, ‘Look at you. You’re out of shape, go work out.’ It would be sort of like ‘The Biggest Loser’ and ‘American Idol’ combined. And believe me, I’ll find some Kelly Clarksons out there,” Stern continued. “First of all, I would have straightened out that Adam Lambert, number one. That’s why his career tanked — the kid had more publicity than anyone  and he f—ed up. And Number 2, I wouldn’t even put through that good looking kid who won, that Kris Allen. He never would have even been through.”

“Carrie Underwood — I would’ve told her to lose weight. I remember she was chubby, and look at her — she looked great on the Super Bowl. And Fantasia Barrino…I like you, but you gotta clean up your act.”

“I’m gonna buy one of those taser guns; I’m gonna tase Ellen DeGeneres,” Stern joked. ” ‘Go ahead Ellen, why don’t you do that dumb dance you do on your show? Here’s my taser.’ Can you imagine me sitting there with like a little ping-pong paddle, and I smack Randy Jackson’s belly every time he opens his dopey mouth?” Stern continued.

When a listener asked Stern if consider keeping his radio show while judging “American Idol,” the host responded, “Hell, no…I’m just gonna do what Oprah pulled on Sirius XM. I’m gonna ask Sirius for $50 million not to show up and i’ll just record a phone conversation with [co-host] Robin [Quivers] once a week.”

Over 83 million people tuned in last Friday night (Jan 22) to catch the Hope for Haiti Now telethon, which aired live and commercial-free on several major networks and was also streamed real-time online. The effort was spearheaded by MTV Networks, actor George Clooney and rapper/singer Wyclef Jean (who is from Haiti himself) in an effort to raise awareness and relief for the troubled country of Haiti, who suffered a massive earthquake earlier this month. According to recent numbers, over $61 million in pledges were made by members of the general public. Organizers will continue to take contributions for the next six months.

Celebrities who helped out by either performing or taking phone calls from pledges (or both) included Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono from U2, Taylor Swift, Denzel Washington, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and tons more. Up and coming actress Gabourey Sidibe sat down with syndicated talk show host Ellen DeGeneres a couple of weeks ago in an interview to promote her new Oscar worthy movie “Precious,” set to hit theaters nationwide this December.

We love us some Gabby! Her bubbly personality jumped at us before she even sat on the couch. When Ellen introduced her she came out and danced to Ne-Yo‘s “Closer” song, later revealing that she and a friend choreographed the whole thing weeks ago before she even knew she would be on Ellen. Big girl got some moves too!

But our favorite part of the interview would have to be towards the end (about 5 minutes into it) when she recalled a funny story about a reporter asking her to give a 30 second preview of her Oscar speech, you know, just “in case” she wins one. And she talked about how she freaked out and accidentally blew up at the reporter.

Ellen: There’s so much Oscar buzz going on and you’ve gotta be excited about that

Gabby: I try not to think about it really because it’s so premature, so it’s crazy to think about. I just did the London Film Festival and a reporter asked me, “Can you give us a 30 second preview of your Oscar speech?” and I freaked out, like on camera! I was like, “Give me a 30 second preview of your Oscar speech!” I almost punched her in the mouth, I was so mad! [laughing]

Tyra Banks‘ talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show,” won a Daytime Emmy Award in the “informative” category for daytime talk shows Sunday night (Aug 30) at the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards, held this year in Los Angeles at the The Orpheum Theatre. Other folks at the annual event, hosted by Vanessa Williams this year, were Wendy Williams, Tatyana Ali, Ellen DeGeneres and more.
