Same ol’ sh*t … just a different stage. Rapper Rick Ross invited his friends Ace Hood, DJ Khaled and even Lil Wayne to join him as the crew performed “Hustle Hard” right after Ross opened his set with a short rendition of “Aston Martin Music.”

R&B diva Mary J. Blige kicked off the 2011 BET Awards with a performance medley of her songs “Mary Jane” and “Real Love” before being joined on the stage by the legendary Anita Baker on “Caught Up in the Rapture.” The 40-year-old singer ended her set by debuting the song “It Ain’t Over” featuring rappers Jadakiss and DJ Khaled.

DJ Khaled has teamed up with an all-star line-up of rappers, including Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Rick Ross and Plies for his new “Welcome to the Hood” music video. The clip, directed by Gil Green, also includes cameos from Bow Wow, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes and more! The track is currently on sale @ iTunes and will be featured on DJ Khaled’s upcoming album on YMCMB We the Best Forever.

The 2010 Soul Train Awards were held Wednesday night (Nov 10) in Atlanta Georgia, and Black Star Power was in full effect on the purple carpet!

Faith Evans, Chilli (and her new man?), Ginuwine & his wife Sole, Chrisette Michele, hosts Terrence Howard & Taraji P. Henson, Eric Benet, Bobby Valentino, Jeremih, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and more walked down the purple carpet and posed for pics before making their way into Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center for the show, presented by BET and Centric.

Rapper Ludacris killed the stage last night at the 2010 BET Awards!

Luda started off his set with his single “My Chick Bad” and in the middle of the performance brought out Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj to finish off the job. However this wasn’t the end for Luda who immediately went into “All I Do Is Win” with singer T-Pain and producer DJ Khaled. And anytime DJ Khaled is involved there usually comes a few more, so Diddy (who brought out his son Christian Combs), Rick Ross and Busta Rhymes decided to join the fun as well.

The 2010 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors went down Thursday (Jun 3) in New York City and featured guest appearances and performances from Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, Drake, T.I., Fabolous, Nelly, Gucci Mane, Missy Elliott, Kelly Rowland, Lauren London and more.

DJ Khaled, along with R&B singer Usher and rappers Young Jeezy, Drake and Riss Ross are “sick and tired of being sick and tired” in their new music video for “Fed Up,” Khaled’s new single from his upcoming fourth studio album Victory, due in stores in February 2010.

The clip finds the charismatic DJ being chased through Florida by mobsters, with everyone on the song coming to his aid with getaway vehicles ranging from a Maybach to a boat to a helicopter. The Team Khaled mission? Well, besides helping the record-spinner escape, to protect the contents of his special briefcase.

“‘Fed Up,’ the concept, it’s how everybody is feeling right now,” Khaled explained. “Everybody is fed up. Everybody has their own ways of being fed up. I called Usher, Drake, Jeezy, Ross, and we made a classic. Weezy jumped on the ‘Just Added’ version [Lil Wayne does not appear in the video]. It’s a record about how everybody’s feeling. Superstar lineup. It’s a record that’s special.”

Khaled’s other friends, such as Busta Rhymes and Bun B, also make cameos in the video. His latest album, Victory, is full of collabos, with John Legend singing the hook on the title track while Plies, Bun, the Birdman, Akon, Diddy, Nelly, Lil Boosie, Buju Banton, Red Rum and Ace Hood all appear elsewhere. Kanye West has also been in talks to jump on a song.

“I’ve been embraced by so many people,” the Miami veteran explained. “I feel like I’m making great music, timeless music. I make big collaborations, but all my music has a message and all my music is powerful.

“Every new album gets bigger and bigger,” he added. “The vibe gets bigger and bigger. I have the opportunity to be on my fourth album. It’s a big accomplishment for me. That’s why this album is called Victory. It’s a deep definition to me. To get to victory, you have to go through a lot of stuff — a lot of struggles, grinds, roadblocks, all types of stuff. It’s a big project for me and I’m so excited.”

With helicopters, expensive boats and Maybachs all around, DJ Khaled, with the help of Young Jeezy, Drake, Usher and Rick Ross, filmed his new “Fed Up” music video. The artists mentioned are all featured on the track. No word on where this shoot was done or when it’ll be released just yet. The biggest names in hip-hop entertainment hit up the 2009 BET Hip-Hop awards, held in Atlanta, GA this past weekend. Folks like Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Monica, Tiny & Toya, Pretty Ricky, Shawty Lo, Plies, Rick Ross and more all walked the red carpet before making their way into the building to enjoy the show, which will air on BET Tuesday, October 27th at 8/7c.

Not even 72 hours since Michael Jackson passed and a new song featuring Chris Brown, The Game, and Diddy has joined the many other tributes that have surfaced. The song is titled “Better on the Other Side” and it is produced by DJ Khaled and features various artists such as Chris Brown, Diddy, Boyz II Men and more.

Trey Songz was a featured performer and headliner Thursday night at the BMI Urban Unsigned Talent Showcase, held in Atlanta at E.S.S.O. Nightclub. Nas and new Capital Records signee Novel also performed at the showcase. The 12th annual event gave hopefuls from across the country a chance to display their talent in front of Atlanta’s influential, superstar-spotting music community, and the showcase finalists were chosen by a group of top BMI songwriters, producers and industry execs from a whopping 300 submissions. What a crazy weekend! Here it is Tuesday, and we’re still talking about it. First we hear about the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna thing, then we hear about a dude in a white Bentley on a “low speed car chase” in Los Angeles. Then we hear that the dude in the white Bentley was actually Chris Brown. Then they say, no it’s not Chris Brown. It’s DJ Khaled! Then they take that back, saying that it’s a regular dude, then they correct themselves again saying that it’s definitely DJ Khaled. They finally settled on DJ Khaled and then when the dude shot himself, some sites reported that DJ Khaled had comitted suicide.

The only true part about the whole story that a guy in a white Bentley, who was later identified as a former luxury car dealer (which explains the Bentley) named Mustafa “Moe” Mustafa, led Los Angeles police on a low speed car chase for about three hours in the area. After cops surrounded his car, he shot himself. They say all of this was the result of him losing his business due to the economy. Sad Story.

Rick Ross and a group of fellas who look like they were just released from the state penitentiary celebrated the Miami rappers’ 32nd birthday with an all-white themed party at Karu&Y in the M-I-A Wednesday night. DJ Khaled hit up the party too. More pics when you continue reading!

But I’m a little disturbed about the part of the song where he says his daughter told you to stop sucking her daddy’s you know what. He went a little far with that one…

MIAMI, FLORIDA // SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH 2008 » On Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the “South Florida Summer Fest 2008” Concert featuring Birdman, DJ Khaled, Ace, Colby O’donis, Casley, Keyshia Cole, Akon, Lil’ Wayne and More live from The BankAtlantic Center. The show started at exactly 7:00 PM with opening acts Selena Serrano, S.O.U.R.C.E International Clique, Michelle Del Amore, Wyneter Gordon, and a bunch of local artists performing their radio hits like Grindmode’s “I’m so “High” and “Ecstasy“, Ball Greezy’s “Shone”, Colby O’Donis’ “What you got“, and last but not least Casely (if you think Chris Brown, Usher and Ne-Yo imitate MJ alot, then you haven’t seen Casely live!) who performed really well, but WAY too long for an opening act, sang about 4 or 5 songs from his upcoming album 1985 including his radio hit “Emotional“.

The first big name performer was Keyshia Cole who slowed things down with her single “Heaven Sent“, but quickly sped it back up with “Shouldve Let You Go” followed by “Let It Go” and “Last Night” Keyshia did her thing and put on a great show ,but the highlight of Keyshia’s set had to be when she performed “I Remember” (her vocals where insane!) after talking to the crowd about her mother and her childhood.

Keyshia was followed by DJ Khaled and guest T-Pain singing the radio hit “I’m So Hood,” which he started over 2 or 3 times until his request to have all lights on were met (if you think people get hyped with lights off, try it when their on!). Khaled had everyone on their feet throwing up their 305s (Miami-Dade County), 954s (Broward County) 561s (West Palm Beach) and 904s (Duval County). The performance got even more crazy when Khaled’s protégé Ace Hood came out to perform his hit single “Cash Flow”. Khaled thanked BET for allowing Miami to be heard at the 2008 BET Awards before ending his set with “We Takin’ Over” ft. Akon which kick off his hour-plus set.

Akon took over BankAtlantic, sharing the stage with T-Pain for the evening, who made sure we knew he was there, in a ridiculous purple outfit (top hat included). They started off with “Bartender” and kept the crown entertained with throwback’s “Ghetto” and “Lock’d Up“, and even did alittle bit of “Soul Survivor” and “Sweetest Girl”. T-Pain even stop in the middle of the performance to share a few choice words with the crowd about people saying he steals his music. After a little strip tease for those ladies interested, Akon went into “I Wanna Love You” and then started a battle between the right side, center, and left side of the arena seeing which was the loudest and went into the audience to perform for each side. Getting grabbed, pushed, and even having paper thrown at him didn’t stop him from continuing his performance (off stage and in the audience) with “Snack That”, “Sweet Escape”, “I tried so hard” and “Dangerous” with guest Kardinal Official.

After a 30-40 min wait an entourage of 20-plus walked on stage and stood there, the crowd started screaming and then literally out of nowhere Weezy appeared on stage in bright neon yellow air forces performing throwbacks like “Back That Azz Up”,“The Block is Hot“, and “Go DJ”, and as if the crowed wasn’t hyped enough, Wayne yelled

The Roof … The Roof .. The Roof is on Fire. We don’t need no water …

and when the crowed finished, he corrected them with

Noooooo! Ya’ll suppose to say, we don’t need no water cause we got the Fireman

Then the beat for “Fireman” dropped and the crowd went bananas! Then Wayne brought out Miami native Brisco to perform “In the Hood” followed by “I Feel Like Dying“. Wayne then got women of all ages hot and bothered when he started performing “P*ssy Monster” acapella. Then Birdman came out to help Wayne perform hits like“Stuntin Like My Daddy“, “Leather So Soft“, featureing Wayne on the guitar, which didn’t sound bad, and then of course, “Pop Bottles“. Wayne even performed some music from his latest album The Carter III including “A Millie”, “Comfortable”, “Shoot Me Down”, “Got Money”, and “I’m Me” and ended his set with his chart topping single “Lollipop“. Weezy shut it down and was the only performer who had the entire BankAtlantic Center on their feet throughout the entire set! I really enjoyed the concert and thought each and every performer did a good job, even Michelle Del Amore’s dancers who were a hot mess for forgetting their routine, bumping into each other, and stopping in the middle of the performance and then jumping back in when they remembered what went next!

Usher performing “In This Club” as the opener for the 2008 BET Awards, which aired last night live from Los Angeles.

The 2008 BET Awards went down last night, and while there were a few lackluster performances (Usher’s being one of them), there were a few memorable, surprising, and exciting moments. One being Alicia Keys’ performance when she brought out SWV, En Vogue, and TLC! Another notable performance of the evening was Ne-Yo‘s, where he showed us he can hang with the big dogs when it comes to his dance moves – he even brought out the Jabbawockees (winners of MTV’s America’s Dance Crew). Chris Brown did his thing as well, and surprised everyone when he brought out Ciara. Did Rihanna approve of this beforehand? I’m curious to know. And speaking of Rihanna, did anyone else notice how far she’s come along, as far as her live vocals? I was really impressed when she performed Take A Bow! And last, but most certainly not least, on my list of the best performances of the night, Lil’ Wayne! He kind of scared me towards the end of the show because it seemed like he wasn’t going to come out. The show was already running 15 or 20 minutes over when he was introduced. But he did come out, and he showed us exactly how and why he has sold nearly 1,500,000 copies of Tha Carter: III so far! He started out with Got Money (feat. T-Pain), paid homage to Static Major (R.I.P.) with Lollipop, and ended off his performance with A Millie. He had the whole crowd hyped, and ended off the show perfectly.

While the 2008 BET Awards did have its good moments, much of the show left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I expected a lot more from Usher. His performance was probably the most hyped up (pre-show), and ended up being one of the absolute worst of the night. While I love Keyshia Cole‘s Heaven Sent, she really needs to work on her live vocals … and her stage presence. She had a lot of energy, she just didn’t know how to keep it all together. She looked like she was doing too much to me.

In my opinion, the 2007 BET Awards were much better. The performances, the overall show, and oh yeah … the host! Who the hell approved of D.L. Hughley being the host of this year’s show? I hope they received a pink slip in their box this morning. BRING MO’NIQUE BACK!!!

Mario set a great example for today’s youth by registering to vote with Declare Yourself earlier today (Apr. 29th) in Beverly Hills. If I’m not mistaken, the R&B singer is still in the running to win “Dancing with the Stars.”

Actor Terrence Howard attended a screening for his new movie, “Iron Man,” last night (Apr. 28th) in NYC.

Rapper Plies and R&B singer Ne-Yo were both spotted in Miami on the set of their new video for Bust it Baby Pt. 2. Algernod’s new album, Definition of Real is set to drop on June 10th. Oh, you didn’t know? That’s Plies’ government name! Funny shit, huh? DJ Khaled and Rick Ross also made their way to the set of the video.

Y’all know it’s that time of the year again. Spring Bling 2008, BET’s annual spring break celebration, was filmed this year in Riviera Beach, Florida. You already know this shit is gonna be on repeat for the next couple of months. So until that happens, maybe these flicks will hold you over!
