R&B singer Jennifer Hudson and her fiance/baby daddy David Otunga are ready to get married and have set a date, according to Life & Style Magazine (via AOL BV). They’re not releasing a lot of details just yet, but are telling a little here and there:

Otunga previously appeared on the hit VH1 reality show, ‘I Love New York 2,’ and most recently flexed his skills as an aspiring wrestler on ‘WWE NXT.’ In the exclusive interview, he confirmed that his bride-to-be has chosen a dress, as well. Of their wedding rings, Otunga shared that they are planning to have famed jeweler Neil Lane, who created Hudson’s engagement ring, design their wedding bands, as he is “a personal friend, as well.”

The Harvard educated lawyer also mentioned, “I want my son and I to wear matching custom tuxedos.” As for whether the former ‘American Idol’ castoff-turned-Academy Award-winning phenom will perform at the reception, he added, “It would be wonderful to have Jennifer sing – I’d love that.”

David and Jennifer got engaged in September 2008 following the singer’s birthday. Nearly a year later, in August 2009, the married couple to be welcomed their son David Jr. into the world.

The star-studded 52nd Annual Grammy Awards went down last night (Sun. Jan 31) in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. And the red carpet was swarming with celebrities, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Mya, Drake (who arrived with his mother), Akon (rocking a Lady Gaga t-shirt), Britney Spears (who reportedly made a last-minute decision to attend), Jennifer Hudson and tons more.

New parents Jennifer Hudson and David “Punk” Otunga were spotted having some fun in the sun in Nassau, Bahamas Sunday (Jan 24). The couple, who are currently engaged and welcomed a newborn son into the world back in August 2009, did some kayaking at Nassau’s Atlantis Paradise Island Resort while they were on the island for Michael Jordan’s Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament. Jennifer Hudson wants everyone to know that she is NOT pregnant. Her rep released a statement early this afternoon denying the recent reports of her having expecting her second child. And according to the statement her rep released, the American Idol is going to be much too busy to even think about making her newborn son David a big brother anytime soon.

“Contrary to what has been falsely reported, Jennifer Hudson is not pregnant,” her rep Lisa Kasteler said. “Jennifer leaves in April for South Africa where she will portray Winnie Mandela in the feature film, Winnie. It is a commitment she is excited about and takes very seriously. Jennifer is currently in the studio recording her second album and this is the only delivery she is looking forward to in 2010.”

Jennifer and her fiancee David Otunga (best known as “Punk” from VH1′s I Love New York) welcomed their first child, David Otunga Jr., into the world back in August.

Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson sat down with Oprah Winfrey yesterday and showed off new photos of her four month old son David Jr. and told the talk show queen that little David’s first Christmas is going to be very special! She says she’s pulling out all of the stops and going all out.

She said: “I’m going to go crazy. He’s very aware but he’s so young and it’s his first Christmas, so you have to go all-out.” And she said she would like to get him his own Santa and toy store, and added: “I kind of want to get him his own Santa Claus and just have like a toy store in the house, full of things.”

Hudson, 28, gave birth to David Daniel – named after his father, Jennifer’s fiancé David Otunga, a lawyer-turned-WWE wrestler – in August this year. He was born almost a year after the tragic murders of the Oscar-winner’s 57-year-old mother, Darnell Donnerson, her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew Justin King.

Police arrested William Balfour, 27, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia, in connection with the killings, and he was charged with three counts of first degree murder and is currently awaiting trial.

Hudson shot to fame after she came third on reality TV show American Idol, the US version of the X Factor, in 2004. In February 2007 she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her film debut in the 2006 film Dreamgirls. Later that year, she landed a part in the Sex and the City movie as Louise, Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant and in September 2008 she announced her engagement to Otunga. The following month she released her debut eponymous album which was received to critical acclaim and won Hudson a Grammy Award.

Singer Jennifer Hudson‘s son David Daniel Otunga Jr. has only been here for a little under 2 months now, but the former American Idol hopeful tells People.com that the little guy already has an ear for music! She also said that the experience of her becoming a mom is “just amazing.”

“He’s the cutest thing in the world!” she told People.com. “There are no words for it. He’s the best. It’s just amazing – us discovering each other, me becoming a mom. He seems like he’s very interested in music already. The other night he was having a fit screaming, and someone turns on the music and he just stops and calms down. And I was exactly the same way as a baby,” said Hudson, who played “Let It Be Me,” her collaboration with Rod Stewart, to calm her son. “Sometimes when he cries, I try to harmonize!”

J-Hud will also host ABC’s holiday music special, “Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” The one-hour special will follow Jennifer around as she relives her childhood Christmases with musical performances shot on location at the small neighborhood church where she brought the congregation to its feet week after week; the music academy where she studied; and other Chicago sites.”

It seems like this year is turning into a special one for Jennifer and her family. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person!

How hard was it keeping your pregnancy under wraps?
“David and I were the only people who knew for a long time. I would forget I was pregnant, it was so easy. I didn’t have any morning sickness, no cravings either. I just thought, ‘Oh, well, we’ll wait until it’ll tell on itself.’ I didn’t show until I was seven months so that made it easy right there.”

Your son was delivered via C-section, what was your recovery like?
“Everybody told me how much it was going to hurt afterwards but I think I have a different tolerance for pain than others. By that night after I had the baby, I’m like, ‘Look, I can’t sit in this bed anymore. I’ve got to get up!’ I’ve been up and about since he was born. To me, the pain is no different than when you work out a muscle you’ve never worked out before and it’s sore.”

Has his personality emerged yet?
“He has a lot of personality, like David. He’s always been a good sleeper. His favorite time to smile now is diaper changes. Or when he spits up on you – he just cracks up like he thinks it’s the funniest thing. And his bottle is his pacifier. With a pacifier, it’s like he knows, ‘Ain’t nothing come out of here. No, I don’t want that. Where’s the real deal?’ His best friend is that bottle; that’s all he wants.”

Would you be supportive if he wants to pursue a career in entertainment?
“We’ll definitely encourage education. His father is an education fanatic so we definitely want him to get an education and go to school. My mom always said, ‘Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you as long as you’re happy.’ So I will do the same.”

“The baby is beautiful and perfect,” Hudson rep Lisa Kasteler said in a statement. “His parents are ecstatic.”

Hudson and Otunga chose not to find out the baby’s sex until birth. Congratulations to Jennifer and her husband!

News recently broke that Jennifer Hudson is definitely pregnant, confirming a long-held notion that we can rarely depend on publicists to report the truth. If you remember, back in April, her PR denounced the pregnancy rumors saying that there was no truth to them. Boy were they wrong and shame on us for listening to them. So now we have to take what they say with a grain of salt, just like how we take most of the information we receive these days.

But anyway, the pregnancy was confirmed when she held a baby shower at a relative’s home last Saturday (May 30) in Chicago. And the picture above of her, her 7 month baby bump and her fiance David Otunga leaving a KFC recently also adds more truth to the story. The bump doesn’t lie people. While no one knows the gender of the baby just yet, we do know he/she should be here sometime in the late summer (July/August).

The former American Idol hopeful performed “Spotlight” and “If This Isn’t Love,” her hit singles from her current self-titled album in stores now. She also performed “And I Am Telling You,” a song she resurrected and made famous again, with some singer named Melissa in front of the live studio audience, who watched the performances from outdoors in the streets of Manhattan.
